Getting Together on Zoom

When getting together on Zoom,
It seems like we’re in the same room.
You might say just a face
Could in no way replace
Someone’s presence or warmth or perfume.

Yet, to me, the connection appeals,
For, though such a small picture conceals
The whole body below
What that square gets to show
Is enough to know how someone feels.

Sure, it’s better when hugs are exchanged,
But a Zoom can, with ease, be arranged.
There’s no travel involved
So such problems are solved
And the latest news gets interchanged.

Premium MemberWritten In the Stars

You don't find love, it finds you
It's written in the stars, a love so true
Can't be explained
Love is interchanged
The most wonderful feeling known to (wo)man

With Love

Verse 1
The yearning to relate, convey and demonstrate
Desires interchanged, of pathways rearranged
To be enamoured of, a treasured soul
My ever one true love, to so unfold
A clear scenic sky, a hand to hold
Of memories passing by, let love evolve

Chorus
This is my gift to you, I’m sending this with love
I’m sending this with love
Embracing all that’s true, with faithfulness to you
I’m sending this with love

Verse 2
Of wisdom to engage, with letters to a page
Evoke and captivate, connected hearts relate
Of my weaknesses, that you complement
With true tenderness, you do bring out the best
You hold my true regard, beloved star you are
Passion interlaced, none could take your place

Chorus x2

Bridge
With love, with love, with love
With love, with love, with love
With love, with love, sending all my love

Water-Less Clay

Man is proud of clay
But least bothers about water
There has been no human progress
We all behave like medieval man
The difference is only
The places have interchanged
The same might is right
Still rules the world
The tongue and tricks
Of the water-less clay
Has developed only a sharp edge
The arms which were blunt
Now becomes sharp and sophisticated

Body Count

A man dies...without any
realization of the event taken
place...his soul manipulated
and deteriorated by a world he
knows not to be malignant...a
Divine Being deprived of his
true potential...now reduced to
only BEING null and void...
*ANOTHER MAN DIES* seeking
all the transient pleasures the
world has to offer...yet he has
not SEARCHED deep within for
true worth ....the value of the
MIND BODY and SOUL
interchanged for monetary
gain...the sight of this
continuous cycle pains my
heart...*ANOTHER MAN
DIES*...not the physical death
but perishes
eternally...unbeknownst he has
truly never lived at all...

How Do I Write?

Written with inspiration only
Waves that ebb and flow, high and low
Dry spells for days, then flow like the Nile in the rainy season
Humor woven into my work, joy released
Notebook in hand or scrap
Pens and pencils interchanged readily
ideas flow like a leaf on the river
time is all I have.

I made my first bad grade in handwriting in the second grade, it was devastating! Imagine
me writing poetry now?!

For Deborah Guzzi's contest, How do you write? Thanks Deborah for the inspiration.

Listener's Favourite

LISTENER’S FAVOURITE

I joined the K’s and the C’s but did not sound perfect.

They devoured the particles of C and K.

The majority in A’s was overcast by the blue eyed Z’s

And forever the alphabet interchanged with the numerals as a submission to the shrine.

A Contravened Instant

Once, bravery shrouded my face,
He took it, all of it in one night.
Shame replaced my dignity,
Valiant interchanged my fearlessness.

Suppressed cries; stifled pleas,
Deafening roars; physical manacles.
I wither away, waking up to a stranger,
Forcing his body against mine.

There was not a way to stop him,
For he was stronger than I,
I just laid there, barely lucid,
Having to take what was being done.

“No, please stop. No, I don‘t want to.“
“You like it. You asked for it.”
Nobody there to salvage me,
Alone with a monster; it felt like eternity.

Finally blacking out for the remaining assault,
Waking up, finding him touching me again.
Afraid for my life, I lay quiet, barely breathing.
He finally got up, and so did I …

Leaving nothing, but all of my goodness,
Leaving behind the notion of nobility.
I left behind my honor, and my valor,
Hoping one day, I’ll be able to restore …

What used to be me.

Death's Inspire

as I sit bye the fire
I am intrigued bye death's inspire
Skeleton's move in organinized fashion
Filling the room with quarrled passion
Will join us now that u are the newborn
Do u reconize your own reflection
Do u see your skin complextion
For u were stillborn
Raged from your ricies in a dire form of mislead conduct
Your kingdom once filled with flourishing material product
A striken life was promised with the vison of the world to come
Here u will bw washed in no blame
can u even remember your own name
u only lack this in my house
Mingle around and do try to find yourself a spouse
My attention drawn towards these sympathetic words
I am disturbed bye this walls are misshaped and deranged
Captured souls in dysfunction while there bones are interchanged
The halls are filled with a shamful air full of evil deeds
I stand here out if existence and hormone
