Premium MemberAs We Metamorphose

As people, we have begun to change,
Incrementally, thoughts rearrange.
Are we still the person we once seemed?
Or, were our thoughts seduced as we dreamed?

Words bandied about of kindness, good,
thoughtfulness, we felt we understood,
We now discard them, trading for lies,
as dollar signs dance before our eyes.

Perhaps life imprints each memory,
as good or bad, however perceived.
Faintly, it's then passed into a gene,
to be reborn to a new lifestream.

Will humans evolve; will cyborgs advance?
Will warring end, will Earth get a chance?
Will we find the values we have lost?
Will we remember what loss has cost?

Adrenaline

There is too much energy,
coincidentally,
Too much memory,
incrementally,
Too much sensory,
What has entered me
So unnaturally?

Premium MemberAquittal

as if drawn by an invisible jury

the mood inched closer

to adjunction

incrementally and with

unbearable slowness of progress

it nibbled away at sizeable apathy

pinched a tiny chard of gloom

until the clouds burst into silent tears

not without questioning the sanity

of its success neurons returned

to previous still rusty function

redefined normality

of what was to become

not without mocking

waste and waistline

as if to say

you need a belly ring for flotation

it will ground you when levitation

takes the mood swings too far

the verdict not guilty

merely colluding as a minor offence

released on bail

no further injunctions

and hard work ahead

Doing Swimmingly

I a woman of sixty and seven have come to realize
There is more here going on than is evident to the eyes

What is allowed by ego to filter through our defences
Is not the sum total registered by our senses

As we are able to carry the weight like a mother doting
Incrementally it sifts it through without sugar coating

We see what we are ready to see unedited without bias
No matter the seas that lay ahead we say in confidence Try Us

Last Friday week I learned to swim after being the banker for years
Finding I'm hyped to name and address all my other fears

I want to live life conscientiously enslaved to nothing but God
The trainers are off on my way giving my governess a nod

Don’t be melodramatic, Mama Witch said.
Don’t want to take curmudgeon with you to bed.
Little Witch smelled honeysuckle of her Uncle Ted.
It came incrementally as beddy bye book was read.

You’re the kingpin of your life, said her cousin Zed.
She loved it when these spirits came into her head.
Next morning Mama Witch asked “Ready for a moped?”
Why not? Worst scenario she would end up dead.

Which actually meant she would be with Grandpa Ned.
Along with Uncle Ted, Cousin Zed and Auntie Fred.
Little Witch felt glad mama had not followed family tread,
And had named her Little Witch instead of Med or Lead or Shed.

Premium MemberBlood Red Dawn

A blood red dawn eloquently drizzles in through my windowpane.
Added beauty greets my morning once again.
The barren leafless trees hide what they’re able.
Stifling our world’s incumbent label.

Centered testament as I face this day.
Observing some blue as I recognize collected grey.
I will venture out more risky work at hand.
All normalcy henceforth marginally banned.

More freedom incrementally begins to fade.
Persuading mistakes our new future is being made.
Exhaustion and fear now become the norm.
Mauling sensation as I navigate the storm.

Simple Song

Vibration

Another

Another

Wavelets arriving
Like a new rain

Distinct

Refreshing

Notes interacting
Through memory
And anticipation

Sound and silence
Dancing
Courting

Spirit cleansed
Incrementally
By sprinkling

Each touch
A micro-caress

Resonating
With the soul

Premium MemberDonald Trump

His passion for power weighs heavy
on his heart forging his decisions.
And he attacks sane politicians
leaking “fake news” out to depose him.

The whole world’s waiting for him to fall
yet none question his authority.
For thanks to Russian interference
he won the electoral college.

Pacified by his gulf courses and
costly toys He maintains his image.
Yet they can't disguise the fact he lives
in an extravagant gilded cage.

His will’s enforced with merciless might
squashing any signs of rebellion.
For he rules with a iron hard fist
unchecked by the glove of compassion.

Trust's a luxury he can't afford
it could cost him the price of office.
And truth is simply nonexistent
in his quiver of indulgent whims.

Time is the ultimate crucible
impeaching his credibility.
And changing him incrementally
until there’s nothing left but a clown.

He’s the alpha and the omega
war and terror are his to command.
And he is the harbinger of death
don't mistake him for anything less.

Vacant Eyes

You've seen that look before,
so many times that you lost count
It's the look of hopelessness,
the look of despair
Vacant eyes that no longer care
Who let the emptiness in,
who stole their zest for life
Who squeezed the vitality out,
who removed their heart with a cold butcher's knife
Was this travesty done swift and surgically,
or perhaps it happened incrementally
Bit by bit,
drip by drip
Everything they every cared about
got clean ripped from their hands
Maybe they lost their kids
on a drunk driving holiday
Maybe lost the spouse,
when forgiving them was too hard a thing to pray
Maybe lost the house after losing the job
Whatever the reasons, former associates and friends shun them now,
because maybe they think that they're cursed with plain bad luck
Maybe having no family to speak of,
got them thinking life sucks
Down on their luck right now
would be a kind thing to say
But in their heart they know better,
for every sin committed, there's a pound of flesh to pay
So they wander around lifelessly
with that vacant look in their eye
Just wasting the time away until the day they die

The Melding

Watch the people.
They are changing right in front of our eyes.
Slowly, incrementally, they’re evolving, becoming something
else, something more, something different.
A new paradigm is emerging.
Not very many years ago people walked down the street looking straight ahead.
Today, they bow at the neck to the new god they made, worship, and are connected with.
Technology, information is now what they focus on and desire.
Soon, it will be connected to them, embedded into their heads.
Soon, they will access the sum of all human knowledge with
just a thought.
Soon, they will communicate without speaking.
The global human neural net is evolving.
Soon, thereafter, it will merge with artifice intelligence.
Techno Sapiens will then emerge.
Where it goes from there, is anybody’s guess!

By Now

Black sludge coffee fills in where
the bone and sinew used to be
If I were sliced and diced, all you'd see
is black sludge
Even where the marrow is, the black coffee sludge
slowly moves into place like continents
transgressing.

Once cherubesque, were these full breasts-

The sludge moves slowly through my body
Incrementally, almost imperceptibly
changing what was once sublime-
Once a smile, not perfect but nice
now looks like ragged tombstones decaying
where once they stood polished and loved

And slowly the sludge moves through the blood

A perfect curve of spine, along side where
two snakes, full of muscle, lay on either side
now these famished snakes no longer recoil
starving- they are but sacks of skin.
Vicious pain at the base, where two hills
collide-
   Now stand cr o d
                        o ke

Blood filling with the sludge, how did this happen?

Hopefully In Arms

Incrementally dead
And barely caught breathing
Caring for a child experiencing teething
Which 1 the mother?
Which 1 the child?
In this game of life
I see rules not apply
As both will die
Hopefully in arms
