Impaction Poems

Premium MemberSorry, I Can't Write a Poem

I wrote an email to a friend. She challenged me to an exchange of poetry (we both dabbled in writing). I was petrified, having only written a few limericks as a child, and a few poems in my adult life motivated by major life events. I started to compose an excuse, but then, decided to make it into a poem. I was hooked.

I’m glad to hear you’re back in action.
It gives me a certain satisfaction
To know that you are not in traction
Or have a wisdom tooth impaction;

And I would like to celebrate
This happy outcome of your fate
With a poem in which I could relate
Thoughts on this, judged first rate.

Unfortunate-lee -
I cannot see -
Myself writing poe-tree.

The very best that I could do
Is tell a story - one or two -
Which happen to be true.

Even the process of writing fiction
To my comfort level causes friction,
To make you read it, a dereliction,
Punishable by conviction.

So, I will not commit this crime.
I can’t even find the words to rhyme
And if I did, they’re not worth a dime.
Sorry, I cannot write a poem this time.

I'M No One

I got no one by my side
I'm just leaning on the tree
Not on anyone's shoulder
When will this be overcame
I got no strength to fight
Nothing I do is ever right

I was shattered, I became a beggar
I was dying inside but a bit stalwart outside
I found myself just like that, with my body swaying
Roaming around the streets of only God knew
Like a headless chicken
I just found myself just like that
Roaming around the streets
Like a headless chicken
Lost with no direction
Crying for help that no one wasn't adamant to do
Being helpless and powerless
With an empty stomach
People gazing at me and just watch
My frowny face
With their eyes only seeing a passerby
Who abandoned her own family seeking for their fortune material
Little did they assume
Not knowing accurate impaction of my laminations
That I even gave up kneeling and praying for change
I made peace with the fact that it's not worth fighting for
This sufferings is aimed for a worthwhile
Having the fighting spirit is purely futile

Dismissing Dandy

Walking along the way
Dandy spotted an old friend
Ignorant enough to believe
Relationships never end
    He said, "Hi!"

Sally and her husband diverted
Trying to quickly move along
But Dandy followed, in concern
Sensing something had gone wrong

Just as they thought they were clear
A tap on Sally's shoulder brought great fear
.....in one dreadful moment

Face to face with Dandy, they were
Not moving out of the interaction
Like continuing to eat
In spite of bowel impaction

Then, he spoke...

"I didn't know if you heard me
I just had to come say hello
I'm delivered, healed, and whole
Just wanted to let you know
....the new me"

"Truly, Dandy, we are in such a hurry
So many commitments, gotta go"
Quickly, they entered into a sprint
Followed by a "Good to see ya...though."

Dandy's heart was crushed
By stampeding elephants...going nowhere
No matter how much better one is
The pretentious will not be moved to care

...about Dandy.

Note: Ugh! So incredibly frustrated, and this is the first poem. I'm sure there will be two more before I get the the core of the problem.

Premium MemberQuirky Me

A

messy **** retentive
shy extrovert
dancing in the corner
that's me
a babbling bouquet
of awe fits
and rage
and you'll have to compete
with the birds
for my attention
and sorry
without emotional impaction
I have no retention

can you tell me again your name?

B reathtaking strong arms that caress me
O aths swearing down on bended knee
D edication that only lovers can share
Y ielded together two bodies lay bare

Since the first day we met there was an attraction
One of utmost release of our loving satisfaction
In the depths of my soul you made an extraction
Oh baby, my heart is full and that's only a fraction

When our bodies collide I have a chain reaction
All day and night you become my distraction
Through special moments, a deep interaction
Years and years of soul shining impaction

Feel my favorite flower flaunting, fields for free
Our sweet instrument, has always been different
We've built a wall of sturdy commitment
Breathtaking strong arms that caress me
