Tree Walk

a cold sleep
under chilling dreams
mostly
bones find each other

a dirt path
in the tall woods
the ill-bred trees
as usual –

darkly
disinterested

rabbit running
helter-skelter
down the track
heading at me

it is being chased
by what
I did not see

behind my shoulder
a deadly scuffle

I keep walking
my steps
are less shock proof

Back home
taking shoes and socks off
naked feet flounder

bones hang loose
again

Premium MemberIt Was Not Me It Was Not Me

It wasn’t me the notorious outlaw said.
His mother was Ellen, his father Red.
They used to sell illegal liquor, so he was ill-bred.
A case of mistaken identity, said the Kelly, Ned.

Horse thieving and hurting policemen too.
We know it’s you! We know it’s you!
It was not me, the horse thief Ned Kelly lied.
But he abruptly lost when his case was tried.

He’ll be hanged, by cracky! The Australians said.
We’ll string him up ‘til he is dead!’
But he saved my life! One of the jurors cried.
He saved me from drowning. Can’t we let this slide?

It wasn’t me! The outlaw lied. It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me!
It was him, the police said, and they all did agree.
They tied him up, and let him hang and he soon died.
And the boy he saved from drowning was the one that cried.

Chakras correspondent to the earth plane
announce their presence as a reminder
that all attachments are not to rest lain,
as we blissfully go through life’s grinder,
requiring to make tender touch kinder.
Thus when fire of navel raises it’s head
or lustful sacral signals we’re ill bred,
impulses received, when distilled by heart,
relinquish doership since soul’s by love led,
whereupon animal cravings depart.

Premium MemberStooped Stance

Melding with the void,
blissful, overjoyed,
we choose to descend
to help souls ascend.

In search for the light,
there’s no wrong or right;
since the truth is veiled,
by fears we’re assailed.

Ignorance the cause
why love’s put on pause,
so we have no choice
but to heed God’s voice.

Conscience is within;
listen to begin.
Complex made simple ~
just rest thoughts nimble.

Buddha and Jesus;
their teachings please us
but then we forget,
languish in regret.

Easy is the road,
heart is God’s abode
but being ill bred
we live in our head.

Discard all knowing
and keep on flowing,
head-heart hand in glove,
embracing God’s love.

Premium MemberWe Falter At the Altar

We’ve been, seen but not become
soul’s light that bids us welcome,
since as yet we stand not still,
not quite aligned with God’s will.

Subtle flickers of disdain,
stifled dreams that cause us pain,
from time to time, raise their head,
signalling that we’re ill bred.

What avail the Holy Grail
if feral instincts prevail,
clouding sight, veiling God’s light,
making us cower in fright?

Although we do hear love call,
we’re headed for a long haul,
slowly erasing fissures
to reclaim heaven’s treasures.

Premium MemberVultures Circling

Vultures feed off the dead,
therefore we are worried
seeing them overhead,
as fearful thought spirals,
hovering in our head.

Vultures feed off the dead,
so it’s time to reflect
on dark desires ill bred,
grown out of proportion,
since we’re by instincts led.

Vultures feed off the dead,
thus we must be a corpse,
roaming on earth with dread,
in bondage to desires,
whose roots in us have spread.

Vultures feed off the dead
but we’re soul eternal
refusing to be bled
by cravings of ego,
choosing God’s light instead.

In Those Far Days

In those far days, stars had stilts, shafts
that pierced every eye with a legendary knowledge.
There were celestial dragons
that roamed the daylight clouds,
actual myths glittered in the sunlight
as they shape-shifted through a gleaming creation.

Olympus could be found in every nest. Nirvana
explored in nightly rain puddles. Heaven was a word
for the ordinary and mundane.

Then a thing darker than the darkest of shadows,
cast its vast leathery wings over the minds
of these lesser gods and their magical beasts.

Conflicts arose in every land, fairies fled
to the timeless flowering fields of Arcadia.
Blood oaths were sworn and few there were
that would arbitrate for peace.

To this day, starlight walks elsewhere,
and we the ill-bred whelps of fear,
must travel with no thaumaturgic succor
or wit to discern
this wonderful macrocosm of us.

Premium MemberA Time of Indifference

We saw and yet ignored
the evident mistake,
being indifferent
or perhaps well mannered,
having nothing at stake.

We saw and yet ignored,
what the verse left unsaid;
thinking but not feeling,
captive to pace of life ~
sign of being ill-bred.

We saw and yet ignored
soft whispers beckoning,
for our soul’s not yet stirred
by love for love yearning,
till time of reckoning.

We saw and yet ignored
the cry for an embrace,
for heart’s not awakened
to pulsations of love,
we each imbibe as grace.

Premium MemberPretenders To the Throne

With shouts of glee, twin hellions fled
across the park while I would tread
behind them. Always it was me
who had responsibility
of them, who acted so ill-bred.

They wouldn’t heed one word I said,
and I would watch them as they sped
on skateboards, weaving recklessly
                                   with shouts of glee.

But then at night, with stories read,
they’d sleep like “princes” in their bed.
And Mom and Dad would both agree
they were so sweet. . . All I could see
were imps who’d wake to cause me dread
                                    with shouts of glee!

Premium MemberChaos Is Born In Corrupted Rights Passed

People are obedient to the power they serve
the source of all conflict and war works for the devil
No one in governmental positions ever calls for peace
they put sanctions on nations to fill their own ill bred pockets
we all can see clearly that greed plays its hand through bloodshed
Those old men sacrificing the young to do their dirty work
cowardly office boys sitting on their laurels hiding behind a desk
the mask has slipped revealing back stabbers
hiding behind a smoke screen the true origin sits
Pay the piper to play a different tune one with hope for the future
this destructive path the world is on is driven by fear
believing in something without evidence to back it up as existing
Slowly many will awaken to find it all is to late
when a majority can no longer be achieved without conflict
sad state of affairs as many have avoided learning
from the past mistakes tyrants and dictators work against God

Mr Chinedum's Lord's Prayer

God, You re Supreme and Holy
Eventually admitted my non- brilliant enemy in a Poly.
You re the Giver of life and fame:
A riffraff neighbor of mine now has a name.
You re the Changer of circumstances;
It should be time-wasting mentioning the instances.
I want my own world to be The Sweetest;
I have yet to accept "It isn't The Bitterest...
I completely depend on you, God;
Though a sinner, from me keep away your rod.
I shall be counting time for the opening of my doors
like ill-bred kids nibbling at their half claws.
What I desire is enemy -angering elevation in life!
I had at my throat been staring, armed with a sharp knife.

My fate to be a watcher…

and write from alleys dark but real,
salons for words ill-bred

Poor Julius Fred

Poor Julius Fred,
No longer anxious to wed;
A celebratory life once led,
Now, a mixer with the ill-bred,
His eyes, a darker red!

Home goes back to the queerest bed:
Stopper of good use of the best head;
A drift to fatal coma he’d dread,
His life’s yoke heavier than lead.
From his table vanished, the true bread.
And from his memory, the times he truly fed.
