an unfortunate circumstance

Cookie crumbles melted ice cream soda
banana splits at the deep end
Such an anomaly an unfortunate circumstance?

It is hot out here
Don't tell me about a sweater
I think the sun is broken
Walking down the same asphalt sidewalks
Still the same faults as summers ago
Sunny silken shine to the sheen
Sleek and shellacking was a
Cadillac acting like a fact
High powered proper schemes
Have you ever dreamed, really dreamed?
What a sham, scan this scam, damn.
Hot as ever.
Mango icee treat
Ice Coffee, cookie ice cream soda dreams
City nights screaming
Southern boulevard, hear them
Trying harder playing loud music louder
Scream holler holiday haze
Money matters now we crazy frying
Eggs on the hood of that car
Ice cream truck summer luck.
Such and such
Pros and cons of city life.
It's hot out here
Don't tell me about a sweater
I said, I think the sun is broken
No more ink in my pen
Is it sinking in?

A fairly simplistic approach is demonstrated by an individual acute angle and stresses are found in many evenly distributed lines. When the boom of the spray threatens a doctrine then blankets could fall meaning then that the orchestration of fortresses is reduced to a mere symbol plotted on a graphic sheet. Gridlock lines are not goldilocks and no three bears ever enter by a side door nor an exit. Dispite all counter productive odds the journeying migrating wings of many hue still crawl over the skies in a preplanned movement. And what of the ninety foot goldfish. Well he desires to be free and join the world for to watch is not to exist. It is the contemporary contemplation of a clarinet speaking to a cornet. On a very hot elaborate day. Always bask in whiskey, ice cream soda and a pile of gin in a basket. Take care of holes. Always sewing. No leaks then. And in a rhombus a bead speaks. Good. Giving guidelines grafting going gymnastic gnomes. And several skewered pickled eggs giggling in a line. Haha haha now bathe in tea. Hahahaa bananas booming brilliantly xxxx illumination z

Beautiful sunny days,
Shorts, tank tops, dresses,
Trips to the beach;
Burns, tans, and all that’s in between.
Ice cream, soda, games in the park,
Running around barefoot.
The days of Summer are finally here!

Goodnight Mrs Calabash
I hope to see you again real soon
the time we spend together makes me smile
I try to keep it very simple with her
but I am in love with her all the while
it's just that I respected her man
he was a good friend of mine
and he only passed away barely a year
but I dream of her all the time
we go for long walks in the park
feed crumbs to the squirrels and ducks
stop for an ice cream soda or coffee
I barely spend a couple of bucks
her name is Melanie a beautiful name
but I have a hard time calling her that
I had known her and her husband Max
and given them a dog and a cat
we went to movies and dances together
for all of those many years
I would find me a date to bring
maybe stop on the way home for beers
I never had married don't know why
just didn't seem to be my thing
sometimes we go to a Karaoke bar
get silly laugh and sing
I think I always knew Melanie was for me
just wouldn't admit such a thing
but now as the days pass me by
I'm thinking of buying her a ring
will she accept my love for her
or will she think I'm just talking trash
until I feel the answer is yes
I'll keep saying goodnight Mrs Calabash

Summer swelter on an August night
You can feel the heat in the air
Carnival lights and cars in the grass
It’s time for the county fair
French fries and burgers
Candy cotton sticky fingers
Ferris wheels, spinning wheels
The memory still lingers
Dust on your shoes
As we walked holding hands
Kids fishing for prizes
A line of concession stands
Local band trying to make its mark
Dancing on grass under a tent
Walking around until well past dark
Win a Teddy by pitching a cent
Ice cream soda was a special treat
Greasy pole was a funny sight
Admiring the car with the rumble seat
Fireworks on closing night
Special memories of days gone by
My mind often takes me there
Back when love was a country girl
And we went to the county fair.

Sometimes an old song or an old movie can revive memories
If only we were able to reach back
Recapture the feelings, the simple joys, the dreams
To reach back and touch the moments
That first ice cream soda from the corner drug store
Peeling open a pack of baseball cards and
Trading with a friend for a favorite rookie
Frankenstein on the Late Show on Friday night
Dance in the auditorium, Hey! She’s wearing culottes
Sponge ball at the five and ten, up against the house
A small nail and electrical tape to fix the bat
The balcony on a Saturday night, keep dreaming
Chase tag, hide and seek in the street
King of the mountain in the old park
To reach back and have those feelings again
Pack of Luckies in the shirt sleeve
Hustling a game in the pool hall
Sunday ride to Grandma’s house
Free movie in the playground on a summer night
Keeping stats for a wiffle ball league
Wrap around skirts and pedal pushers
Bobbie socks and Bobbie pins
White bucks and Butch wax
Juke box hits six for a quarter
Slow dance, save the last one for me
If only we were able to reach back

Driving through a small mining town
Angle parking in front of an old drug store
Memories flashed back to my childhood
Those days are gone forever more
Sitting on a stool at the soda counter
Large cherry coke for a dime
The place had its own kind of smell
A memory lost in time
Hamburger was more than worth the price
With a toasted bun and an onion slice
A metal Coca Cola ad hanging on the wall
For a nickel you could buy a red sponge ball
Fountain soda tasted mighty good
Floor was clean and it was made of wood
Get a prescription filled and something to eat
An ice cream soda was a special treat
They had Squirrel Nut Zippers and Mary Janes
Red hot dollars and candy canes
Good n' Plenty and crackerjacks
Magazines and paperbacks
Baseball cards came with gum inside
The owner flew our flag with pride
I looked to the sky and heard myself say
Lord, I'd trade all I own for yesterday.
