Premium MemberCome Home To Me

When I awoke this morning
My love you weren't here
I doubt you ever do return
That is what I truly fear

If only you'd come home to me
I'd hold you dearly in My embrace
Kiss you softly on your forehead
And wipe the tears from your face

I've already forgiven you for leaving
I hope that you can forgive me
I pushed you away with my temper
This is my fault anyone can see

But I realized your love is better
Then getting loud to have control
There will be no more outburst
Think of all the happiness they stole

The air in my lungs is less important
Then you being here in my life
I'm sorry for every tear you cried
I'll be a better husband for you my wife

Premium MemberMy Arms Around You

There is nothing in this world
That could even try to compare
To what occurs while holding you
There's magic in the love we share

The stress life throws at us
It will vanish and disappear
With you nestled in my arms
There's neither worry nor fear

While tangled in each others arm
Our souls dance in heaven above
An unknown peace consumes us
In awe of the true purity of our love

It's the glue holding us together
In good times and the bad ones too
If this love ever fades or starts to die
Lay in my arms and let me hold you

Premium MemberMurphy

Old man Murphy has cancer.
We went to the doctor, said there was
Nothing left to do.
I hugged him and cried a little.

We've been through so much.
I pleaded to give him one more month

There's must something you can do.
The doc said we've done all we can.
Hold him and tell him,.there's nothing
to fear, and we'll put him out of his pain.

Old man Murphy looked at me and I think
I saw a smile, and I knew it was ok.

I called my wife and told her,
she said it's time to let go.

So I made that decision,
 and we ended his suffering.

My wife called back,
and we'll I told her what was what.

She said she be there to pick me up,
after the started the morphine drip on
 her mother.

Premium MemberSOON SHALL BE MINE ADORNING WIFE-

---There is a love, for which can't be explained; I know that I have a need for her always; I shall shower her with an arrangement of prayers; Forward she's my adorned beloved darling dear; She lives and breathes, Father has allowed such; One day soon she shall be my adorning wife:

Premium MemberSit For A Spell

When I'm with you on the phone
I finally feel I'm not alone
If you could ever sit with me
I'd take that opportunity
To tell you all about my life
So that if you became my wife
You'd know me, nothing I would hide
We'd take our days and wèeks in stride
And as the years stretched very long
And after we'd made lots of song
I'd share with you this sentiment
My time with you was time well spent

I thought to write you
a song today; my mind
still apt -- though my fingers
a bit too creaky...had the piano
tuned, but it did not make me
a Chopin. Decided then on
a heartfelt love poem -- went
into my Shakespeare persona...
then tried Elisabeth and Emily --
Dr. Seuss did not seem to carry
the same sentiment --
What the heck!~ a sincere hug
and kiss has worked for half
a century -- you always know
my intentions.

Give me your hand and I'll give it a kiss
Then I'll get on my knees and will say to you this:
Do me the honor of being my wife
Give me the pleasure of living my life
Alongside you Bluebird, I'll give all to you
All that I am, all that I do
All that I want, all that I dream
All that I have, all that can seem
So far in the future, I'll wait for that time
When both of our lives will live all of this rhyme

Premium MemberIn Italics

I love you much, that's all I'll say
I'll save it for another day
My love for you is here to stay
And how I hope there'll be a way
To be with you for all my life
An honor if you'd be my wife
Effortless, that's how it'd be
If someday you would in italics

Premium MemberI Love You More

I love you more today.
And I'll love you better than,
What lived and was acquired yesterday?
But still, I'll love you even more tomorrow,
With the richness of incomparable love!

I accept your love today.
I carried your love more than,
The day before the present day.
And yet, you still attain your love for me,
In fulfillment, no other can do.

My soul is yours,
And your spirit be it mine.
Were we meant together for this fortune?
A perpetual life together,
Melding and weaving as one.

I love you more, Shannon! R.I.P.

Premium MemberYou Are My Celebrity

You mean so much to me
But at times I do not say it
Nor even treat you that way
So may this poem
Express to you my love, devotion, and appreciation
You are the star on top of my Christmas tree
The fire that warms me on a cold winter night
The song I hum when I am happy
That memory I cherish all year long
My social media favorite
My ultimate crush
The best daydream
I wish I could roll out the red carpet
Every time I see you
Because you are
My celebrity.

Premium MemberGrateful

My darling, I am eternally grateful to you for:
Being the love of my life
Being my Florence Nightingale
Putting up with me all these years
Bearing and raising our children
Being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother
Supporting me unconditionally
Inspiring me to be the best that I can be
Giving my life purpose
Being my calming influence
Making our home wonderful
Your creativity and skills
Your brilliance, tolerance and understanding
Forgiving me for my stupidity
Being my best friend
Accepting me for who I am
Always being there for me
Always looking beautiful
Always being a good listener
Accepting my terrible sense of direction
Your calm in the face of any storm
“I don’t know what you saw in me
but I thank God in heaven for making it be”!

Premium MemberHolding My Breath

My love for you grew from a spark
I saw you and you left your mark
It started back some years ago
A steady building, burning slow
This notion that you were the wife
The one I've searched for all my life
I tried to purge it from my mind
But always back its way would find
And come back stronger, so it went
I liked the fragrance of your scent
Inhaling deeply, all of you
I'll exhale when we say, I do

Premium MemberSpring Ahead

I had a dream where you and I
Walked and talked, the world went bye
All sense of time we did forget
Then found ourselves around sunset
I looked at you and in your eyes
The waning sun drew pastel skies
With golden highlights in your hair
I fell in love with you right there
I kissed your hand through flowing tears
Reflecting back upon the years
Then asked I you, my hopeful wife
Where have you been all my life?

Premium MemberKiss Me Lively

Kiss me once, kiss me twice
A kiss from you would be so nice
I want to know what it feels like
To kiss your lips by candlelight

A romantic evening starting when
The sun goes down and sets again
And as the fading twilight dims
I'd feel excitement in my limbs

I've wanted this for quite some time
It's one thing to compose a rhyme
That pales compared to the real thing
Your lips and mine together bring

The poems, music, odes, to life
And oh, if you would be my wife
Someday, some way, may it be,
That I will hold you close to me
