Premium MemberHer Kittenish Personality Illuminated a Room

She had a kittenish personality; always ready to play.
Her sense of whimsy and hunky-dory attitude was contagious.
Her laugh would have brought happiness to the Netherworld.
He was smitten from the second they met. Wanted more.
Unfortunately, she was already taken and committed.
This did not mean he stopped noticing her.
She elucidated a room, illuminating it with joy.

Premium MemberWhat's Up With Him

Do any of you guys wake up feeling great
And can't figure the reason why
Don't question it, just go along with the flow
High five every passer by

Some will smile and wish you a good day
While others will walk on by
Mumbling things like “What's up with him?”
“Escaped from the funny farm” they sigh

Wanna know the secret to a stress free life
One with perpetual good times
Where every damn day is hunky dory
And the big old world is in rhyme

It doesn't always have to be like a fairy tale
Always living happily ever after
Just seven days a week would be fine with me
With good times and a whole lot of laughter

Let me know if I'm overdoing this stuff
Love sharing my happy with you
Been on this kick for quite a long while
Guess a bunch of giggles are due

Premium MemberComputers Can Drive Us To Drink

Computers can absolutely drive us to drink
It's programmed into their memory
Just when we think things are all hunky dory
It lets us down unceremoniously

To frustrate us more we even lose some data
Though we often hit “command/save”
But wouldn't you know it this was the exception
To these monsters we're truly enslaved

The damn things treats us like a piece of crap
I'm sure there are gremlins inside
Trying to turn us into some raving maniacs
Taking great delight when we cry

Can't live with them, can't live without them
They've got us by those short curlicues
It's almost like they enjoy watching us struggle
But give in to these things we refuse

They can drive us to drink, a bloody caesar
Every single night before bed
Oh for the days before technology arrived
When people ruled the world instead

Premium MemberYouth

It's surprising how youthful I feel
Though I'm aware it's not for real
In the mirror stands an aged biddy
My heart boom-a-bangs till I’m giddy.

There's some wrinkles starting to appear
On my face once so soft smooth and clear
Without makeup I’d surely breakup
If it’s a dream please let me wake up.

In days of youth I’d bonny brown haiir
Now it’s a silvery crown I wear
In mind is the youth I used to be
In the mirror it’s not me surely.

Foolish maybe, but the youth of old
Inspires my muse through the pen I hold
For when I’m penning my poetry
Youth’s my light of creativity.

In memory we're forever young
Though maybe the image is far-flung
O for those days of hunky-dory
In the splendour of youthful glory.

An Easter Bunny Rhyme

Easter’s the time for a bunny rhyme
Come hopping in line to church bells chime
Twitch noses as if smelling roses
Sing bunny rhymes of Easter posies.

If you should join an Easter egg hunt
Move with a thumpety-thump-thump-thump
Share your findings as true friends should do
Sharing’s a hunky-dory virtue.

Sing of the pain that Jesus went through
Hung on a cross for me and for you
Upon a hillside so faraway
Yet rose again on Easter Sunday.

Sing a bunny rhyme in voices clear
Alleluia’s for Easter is here
Honour Lord Jesus for loving you
Sing for bunnies who love Jesus too.

Premium MemberMy Life In a Blip

In spite of my extremely good looks
(lol) Still gotta play by the books

No jumping ahead in the line
Each gets their turn everything's fine

Not always hunky-dory though
The ups the downs just take life slow

There ain't no hurry it'll all get done
Take time out for having a little fun

When your time is up and finally over
There'll be nothing but fields of clover

Time for good-byes wishing you the best
That completes it as I'm laid to rest

Just Half the Story

A poem is just a bunch of words.
A flock is just a bunch of birds
And Mensa’s just a bunch of nerds,
Yet that’s just half the story.

For writing them so they will flow
Or watching as they skyward go
Or marveling at all they know
Is what provides the glory.

The rhyme and rhythm worth the read,
The soaring high with steady speed,
Eureka moments that we need
And all is hunky-dory!

Premium MemberSouls Descent Into Matter

Man perfect was Gods creation
Everything was hunky-dory
Need to feel feral sensation
Birthed his broken person story

Fallen from grace, in matter coarse
Man perfect was Gods creation
Renouncing love, employing force
Chose the path of agitation

Delusion amidst illusion
Took birth here again and again
Man perfect was Gods creation
Yet now his soul, reveals dark stains

God so kind, threw man a lifeline
His conscience, urging cessation
Free when head, heart and love align
Man perfect was Gods creation

Premium MemberIt Was a Good Morning Until

It was a good morning until...OUCH!
Oh snap! Sharp pain I suddenly felt
        in lower back sitting up from couch;
                 a temporary blow dealt....

and this ain't the first time either!
Back pain creeps up every now and then,
though pain-killers give me a breather.
I'm not alone, it nags so many men!

It never stops me, though. Life goes on!
Morning was rough, but hunky-dory now.
Hallelujah! My vexing pain is all but gone.
Thank God for Percocets! Two words: cat's meow.

Patterns In Life

Go through chores as, like a machine
the sunrise, sundown, the rains, and snow
the countryside pass by a train window
but can't drink the green valley to the lees
along the mountain slope the mist rises
swept clean by a light stream from among clouds
sea waves thrash the shore and back they go
the glacial river water flows down to the plains
poke the ecology to melt ice at the source
fertile lands begin to wear desert signages
channel energy to mine minerals and wring out oil
combust petroleum to run trucks and automobiles
disease and pandemic checkmate growth
damage life, in the gambit to make it hunky-dory.

Premium MemberYin and Yang of Winter

Delicate crystal white blue of the gorgeous freshly-fallen snow
Makes me want to sing a Christmas carol everywhere I go.
The prettiness of the day, takes me breath away, in glory.
I am thinking everything on earth must be hunky dory.

Christmas is on her way, and people are nicer than ever.
The icicles glisten with a beauty that is insanely clever.
The crisp fresh look of the meadow makes me want to sing.
I think winter is the more beautiful than almost anything.

Then I get into my car and slide around my driveway.
I crash into the porch, and end up with a car door sideways.
My husband comes out and yells at me, and it is not even my fault.
Who was in charge of putting down some cat litter or salt?

I am halfway to work, cringing, because the highways are so slick.
My I-phone rings, but I ignore it. Keeping this car on the road’s the trick.
I get to work and no one is there, so I call my boss to ask what’s up.
School is cancelled for inclement weather, she tells me. I spill my coffee cup.
