dogs danced the dance
dressed as if in France
with mustard bras
legs gave me pause
did I have a chance?

A fork I did pick up
thinking I might sup
on this chorus line
fancy and fine
procuring winners cup

Premium MemberThe Chicago Hot Dog

Hot dogs, from a stand!
Ah, just the best in Chicagoland.
Their taste so exquisite!
I want to go back for a visit.
I don't know the hot dog magic,
And I do declare it is so tragic.
The smell of Lake Michigan was the best!
But no way can I pass, the Chicago hot dog taste test!

Hot Dog

On the 4th of July, there are fireworks shows
And barbecues, picnics and beer,
But there’s a tradition not everyone knows
For which only a few volunteer.

It’s a contest to see who can gobble the most
Hot dogs, eaten together with buns
And the winner, with trophy, gets mostly to boast
He can do what the average guy shuns.

The champ, Joey Chestnut, secured a new win,
His 12th victory, pleasing his fans.
With his mouth opened wide, he did shovel them in,
Though his numbers fell short of his plans.

In just 10 minutes’ time, there were 71
That were chewed and made way down his throat,
Though last year it was 74 (each with bun);
Still, his effort got everyone’s vote.

As a watcher from home, I admit that, to me,
The whole contest is utterly gross
And I surely expected that on the TV
Some contestant would be comatose.

Hot Dog

He's small, barely eight inches tall
but those little legs let him chase the ball.

It's his favorite past time much to my chagrin
but I do it for the pleasure in watching him.

He's quick, he's fast
thrilled to chase or catch the ball as it is cast.

Too soon my enthusiasm wains
and playing endlessly becomes a pain.

The snow man made totally of snow
 plump, round and cold
can hold the battered ball so old
and pretend to get ready to throw.

My dog with such a tiny brain
never let's his joy falter or wain.

There he sits without bark
waiting patient for the game to start.

Hot Dog

My dog sometimes has the desire
To lay too close to the fire,
To the warm hearth he succumbs
His favorite spot when winter comes.

One night when tranquility prevailed
An exploding spark got on his tail,
He yelped so loud my canine friend,
I had a hot dog with one burnt end.

The Nun and Hot Dog Cart

There just ahead she stood in line with just two customers to go
I already knew what I wanted on mine, lite on the onions though
And now it was the Sister's turn as my own mouth began to water
Oh but the lesson we would all learn as I went to place my own order

With her order in her hand she walked over towards the back wall
Confused, we didn't understand but it sure caught the attention of all
There was this man on the ground... I really didn't even notice before
Oh I do always see them around, but usually I just simply try to ignore

But the kindness she showed in how she knelt down to him so meek
In this certainly not being owed such volume did Sisters actions speak
Now all eyes were upon her, people now feeling what they had sought
Yes there We all were, but why did so many of us need to be taught

In seeing perhaps our sad sorrow or sensing that we too wanted to try
She murmured something about tomorrow, that she can't make it by
That man ate well that next day as some of the same people were there
In going about her daily way Sister was in turn just teaching us to care

Hot Dog Paradox

Hot Dog Paradox

20 boys ate a hot dog
Which was a simple thing to do
I’m confused
I only want the truth
Did 20 boys eat the same (1) hot dog as clearly mentioned above?
Did 20 boys eat their own individual hot dog, (20 hot dogs), also clearly stated?
Only one hot dog was eaten at a time
And so defined
20 boys ate a hot dog
I don't see how or why
I’m glad it wasn't mine
Don’t ask me what the girls ate
Or I’ll go blind

Hot Dog Breath

More green than orange or yellow
rolling hills of trees take my breath as I speed the highway
hot dog breath on my neck
my eyes drift up to catch nature
of change before my eyes
speed seems required
just as in spring
the first day song spills out your windows into fresh air
so I glide in my old fast car
up the highway
feels like skating
Redd's got his head out the window.
