It seems like yesterday
It was Valentine’s Day
We met at a café
My hair in disarray
He guessed I was fair play
Capriciously I said no way
Yet saw a certain cachet
So didn’t race away
When the skies turned blue grey
Raincheck for that sundae
We both took the subway
Agreed to meet Tuesday
Since I don’t play croquet
We saw a matinee
Tried kissing me midway
Thought it was his birthday
One might suspect foul play
But there was no replay
Or attempt at foreplay
Soon met every day
And became fiancé
Not one to go half way
When came our wedding day
Ordered a DuBonnet
Then threw my bouquet
Sped along the freeway
Craving our getaway
Honeymooned in Gaspé
Forgot my negligee
Then off to Santa Fe
Met our sommelier
Glasses of chardonnay
Cheerio as they say
Now baby on the way
Due next Valentine’s Day

Now the poor fella's a stiff

When we got married at twenty two
We said our vows beside a ski-doo
But then got marooned
So we honeymooned
In a five star, two story igloo
My wife said a stiff drink would be nice
But I couldn’t locate any ice
So I stripped to get numb-er
Then asked for a hummer
Hoping that my iced cubes would suffice
To honeymoon where we'd dreamt
From thoughts when we were young
This place we're mystically sent
It's where our dreams begun
Being marital would fuse our fun
Honeymooned, uncommon rise
To wails through reddening clouds
Left us in worthy surprise
Amidst thoughts thinking loud
It's then we'd seen the crowds
Like a mist they soon descended
Abhor, Neanderthal
Confusion abounds we're intended
To be their eventual thrall
Is this the luring of us all
There was once a blonde from Jersey
Looked like a flamboyant gypsy
Married an Italian
A pure bred stallion
Now the couple looked most sexy
They honeymooned in Italy
Walked the pristine beach daily
With flowers in hand
This way they had planned
To enjoy this short life gaily
