Haiku 2

Roosters' morning calls
like screwdrivers undoing
dream twisted people.

               bright blue Robin eggs
in the nest outside my door
               my home is their home

When I say home

When I write of “home”,
it’s not them I’m aching from,
just the world outside.

Premium MemberA HOME UNTIL BABY BIRDS TAKE FLIGHT-

so, lit flight resting
bird nest upon the crevice
of the building set
~
 the eaves Covenant
are gathered stored twigs leaves and....
 mud fashioned into
~
a home for mother
bird and her chicks to live life
until baby's take flight

Home Is Best

no ups nor downs
in fact, home is best
no east nor west

Inspired by the lovely poetess Andrea Dietrich's poem: Over and Over and Over Again.

Premium MemberBoyhood Memories

Carolina home
In the great Palmetto State
Place where I was born

Boy was free to roam
On a ninety-acre farm
Free from fear and harm

In dirt, sand or mud
We sandlappers had it all
To work, play, or brawl

Turning the dark dirt
Putting the hounds on the trail
Tussling with cousins

Having dirt clog fights
Making toys out of pine bark
Plowing fertile fields

Running through the pines
Wading through the boggy swamp
Swinging from a vine

Down in muddy swamp
Turtle is called a “cooter”
Anglicized slave word

So my cousin says
Parents were missionaries
Belgian Congo

Many days have gone
Much water under the bridge
Since I left that home

Days of yesteryear
Now, home is where I reside
But memories last

Nursing Home

Old men
sit in wheelchair
drool

Home

Golden Gate
shining in sun
home again

Home Expansion Became Mansion

home had expansion
would find it to be fashion
became big mansion

had ridden a horse
on property with golf course
poor game with remorse

shot well below par
had few drink at a bar
after wrecked my car
