Groundhog Day

Same four walls, same aching head,
same bitter tea, same empty bread.
Same street outside with the sirens loud,
same slow shuffle through the same old crowd.

Same pointless talk, same hollow smile,
same heavy heart that’s not worth the while.
Same bed at night where I lie and pray,
to wake to a world that ain’t this day.

Who follows his nose

A middle finger he shows

Slower than a snail
As wide as truck
Forget the highway code
He pushes his luck.

Three or four deep
