At the heels of a blessed consequence, spurs unpredictable fervency that is extremely engrossing, it perplexes conscionable determinations, concerning exhausting heydays of a celebratory stretch, that radiates from an unfathomable receptacle, wherever, wrapped gifts stead itself in anticipatory sensation, to collect and concentrate, then it will undividedly precede, o'er a decisive menacing expectant eve, plus, simultaneously surrender joyously, amidst an agreeable, explosive, color-filled night sky finale.

calendrical charms
thoughtless and thoughtful gifts coaxed
colorful glowed eve

Lagos

ISALE EKO (LAGOS)

A rooster of discrete tongues
Culture, tradition
Where,
Zillion specters resonate
Quantum croak.
Cock crow,
Erupts whirl, barge at Alaba
Descry of sea of soul cases
Kibbling in, out as Emmet over nectar,
As husky ell of murk drench dawning,
Eviscerate NEPA's spasmodic spitfire
To stupor, obloquy.
The hindmost geezer nestling,
Drenched in diaphoresis of animation of dog days
Eludes unforgiving hail of bug blitz,
Hallowed howl of ole! ole!
Arched in his decrepit nest
Deploys a taper
Until,
Sunup deflowers night jaded sockets
As,
Resonance of one more Naira
To breast billion mark
Percase, perforce, precipitating
The epogee in mores
Rummages his cranium:
Top dog never capitulates
Vanquish countermands blossom
In kernel of hovel, wreck, quagmire
From mainlands of Iddo,
Bog of Badagry
To Favela of Ijora, Ilasamaja
Colonize the cocoon
Which,
Burgeoned Whiz Kid, Davido and Nollywood
Confuting phantasm
That,
Golden fleece
Is muted in the jaws of no man's land.
A colossus who never unwinds
No arrears in innuendos
Paris is your headrest
Rio de Janeiro your ottoman!

Premium Member Sea Changes

Is all life, in fact, like a tectonic sea change?
Its barely felt wave passes ships in the night
That on later reflection can wrack devastation
(Tsunamis that sculpt all the land within sight.)

A landslide released on a volcanic island,
Its wave can cross oceans in less than a day,
And its energy pile up as land's shelf grows shallow,
Two thousand foot wave crushes all in its way!

But people build homes too, on sides of volcanos,
For memories fade (fertile land's now a prize),
Could it happen again? There are few written records
And Science's answers can squash enterprise.

It's greed in the end that can cloudy the waters
Makes people nearsighted (to poor folk life's cheap!)
Best to live for today (let the devil take hindmost,)
They follow the tune of wealth's prospect like sheep.

The sea has no feelings for you or your fellows.
Live close to the ocean? Then learn about tide!
And don't look to religion if earth begins shaking,
Fate honors the life least attached to its pride!

Falling Asleep Dog Tired

(this poem is a bout falling asleep but there is no category for it)

Heavy lids; burning eyes,
no more chance of getting high.
Dreams both start but don't sound,
as carriage carts drag on cobble stones.

Your heart - slow baritone beats,
pulling you away to sleep.
And it suffers you,
for your loss of control.
It scares you too.
Still, down you must go.
Into the vast sea
of nascent mortality
of terminal vistas.
The hindmost journey
being quiescent aloft.

Premium Member Diamond Dust, Devil

Diamonds in the rough,
Make the dust fly,
Dust and ashes
The devil comes alive !

Earth in its deep inside
Is full of arrogance
Erupting volcanoes
Devastating beauty,
Blind to the
Observer's delight !

The storms, tornadoes
Never stay calm
Join the darker side,
Moonlight sprinkles
Diamond dust in
Night's dark waters !

Under deep oceans
Lava bubbles out,
Red crater at midriff,
Rainbow colours to
The whirlpool surrounds,
The devil to pay !

Zeus O great Lord !
The thunderer!
Give the devil his due,
The devil takes the hindmost !!

My Humanity

Dear Monsieur,
Please do not let pass this letter. This is my hindmost testimony to the wistful write-
up of the withered existence I shall entitle humanity. I speak this in that my body has
not yet expired, however, my very being has taken root to the essence of hates dominion.
My mind lives on, in an eternal state of anguish perpetuated only by its tendency to
loathe the very most minuscule molecule, including its ill-conceived companion, which
drags along like a rake through God’s garden of Eden with no other intent but to destroy
at the will of its master.
