Snowing-- a hiemal, deathly air
Their frigid, frostbitten fingers hold nothing
Uncomfortable silence washes over all there
A petalless, thorny rose someone is clutching
Her corpse, defunct, stiff yet motionless
Skin, once warm brown, now ghastly
Her grinning face, now emotionless
They thought she would die lastly
Life has limits, death endures eternity
From her loss, not a single tear was shed
She, a daughter, never within confraternity
No one ever cared to hear the words she said
So she lay, her arms crossed against her chest
No flowers were dropped upon her frail body
Instead, the thorny rose stabs her breast
Unhuggable cacti she could embody
On her prickly torso, blood streams
No one shall wipe liquid and spikes off
No one shall pay respect, it now seems
They simply do not really care; they scoff
So there she’ll lay, unloved and disrespected
With not blooms and gold, but many a thorn
Only snow showers her, quite expected--
That no one would dare to mourn.

Wan is the hiemal world outdoors,
The biting breeze blows bitter,
like a blizzard building in momentum,
Cold creeps in through the closed windows,
But his harmonic heart is happy and warm,
touched by tantalizing tingles of tender tunes.
~ silent violins play violet symphonies ~
The mystery of mauve melodies mesmerise his mind,
as he is lost within his mellifluous macrocosm;
Intoxicated with invigorating inspirations,
he experiences euphonious euphoria,
Forgetting the frost and frozen fingertips,
he hums sweet sonatas in the making.
~ soothing arias arouse amethyst emotions ~
A string of soft heliotrope strains
brush away the brumal brutality,
And even as the notes swell, they quell the chill,
The warbling waves wind up in a waltz,
resonating sizzling rhythms all around the room;
Content with cantatas serenading magenta Maestoso.

The Heart of Spring
Spring's heart slips through small winter cracks
Breaks through brumaled icy attacks
Coaxes snow and ice - melt away
Ignores icebound pleas to stay
Hoary whispers silenced - turned back.
Spring dances through towering clouds
Selecting raindrops for a rainstorm crowd
Rejoices in lingering days
Giggles as the rainbow strays
When sun and storm shed barren shrouds.
Spring plants a kiss on wintry cheeks
Bids adieu to hibernal pique
Spins on toes of warm affection
Laughs at mistral's misdirection
Heartfelt greetings from hiemal peaks.

A chill in the air
ignites my dry bones
washing over with sweetness.
I inhale, consumed with an appetite
assuaged only with the kiss of hiemal night.
Branches spindly, frigid, and gaunt
strike at the grey darkened sky,
while a cool mist blankets the ground.
Crystalline prisms dance through the air
as I take in the gentle crisp silence of Winter.

Upon this yearly powdered dale,
where leafless birch in talon-ed stance
come begging in their circumstance,
the snowflakes fell in silent veil
as thick as densely woven cloth
to gale a new year's behemoth.
While seeking warmth to no avail
I hunker in my hiemal sleigh
when through the rime in gleeful spray
a fulgid sun does spritely hail,
goes dancing between limb and twig
and waltzing 'round each wizened sprig
to glisten on my rutted swale.
Each pixel glitters on this path
in afterglow of winter's wrath.
Upon this yearly powdered dale
the snowflakes fell in silent veil.
While seeking warmth to no avail
a fulgid sun does spritely hail
to glisten on my frozen swale.

Heavenly snowfall,
after dark harsh hiemal night,
breaths to warmth embrace,
youthful lovers led astray,
as cold winter blizzards chill !
