WASHED AWAY BY THE TIDE

I see the vestiges of yesterday,
echoes of mistakes,
like footprints in the sand,
that the time of time washed away.

Every mistake,  
is like a grain of sand on the beach,
a sandcastle of errors,
mistakes that the tide of time washes away.

the wind of self-forgiveness
pulls me up, propelling me 
beyond the limits
of mistakes I

The Heat of the Moment

(Cabin Sunset, summer 2025)

The Heat of the Moment

Settling into our new mountain cabin,
Dogs and humans equally overheated
In the shadeless August afternoon,
The only way to be is naked.

Stuff strewn around 
Bed to one side, kitchen the other,
Camp chairs with panting dogs 
On an old Persian rug in-between.

Cabin with unfinished interior
Waits for insulation, paneling and flooring,
But in

Sail Away With Me

Please join me in this fantasy
and sail away to paradise;
as trade winds blow, our sails are full
so just give in as dreams entice.

For Neverland’s within our reach,
the innocence of love awaits;
it’s calling us to sail away
and enter through her luring gates.

       Tranquility has open arms

The life you created makes you cry out loud
Now an angry man you are alone in a crowd
Made terrible mistakes, there’s nothing to say
Just lower your head it’s time to walk away

Instructions For Walking Away

feet tracing ruts
softened by the weight of others

the path was worn
    polished
not by insight
but by generations
unquestioning the same direction

a weed split the sidewalk
where my foot hesitated

they handed us maps
already marked, folded
creased at the routes
they wanted us to traverse

walls hung with heirlooms
no one claimed
shadows
longer than the rooms

classrooms’ chalkboards of certainty
offices pressed flat with

FAITH IN GOD WHO CARRIES US 
AWAY FROM SIN-CAPTIVITY	

God carries us away from sin-captivity toward grateful thanksgiving
While counselling us to trust Him, always His Word

I walk silently away

mud dauber’s nest readily in sight
hanging out of chubby bird wind chime
if I knock it down, I will be attacked by wasps
anticipating their stings, I walk silently away

A Special Soul Has Passed Away

        For this special soul, baseball prays

      One year he could not give his all every day

The dead that now know
God's move in ~predestined~ wind
Sift through the free grass.

You must be longer
in there than I am this staid.
Above you, to leave
Where distant dogs bark, since then
My fallen soul buries rest.

Slipping away

My head crashes to the desk.
Flashbacks—oh, so cruel.
A hammering heart, a desperate soul,
I reach to touch you…
But you vanish.
I run to you, but you’re always faster,
Slipping away again.
“Come back,” I scream.
He says,
“No, I don’t love you… I never really did.”
Silence. I stop running.
“No… no.”
Sobs break free.
My chest feels hollow—
Not from grief,
But from the absence of

Walked Away for Peace

I walked away not free from snags
caused by those in authority,
but to be free from cruelty
to save my spirit against evilness 
And injustice in power's grip

Tied up by abusive six sprawling 
division in command,
footsteps no trace, only an echo
weeping soul in the dusk!

Harsh words
dug deeper into my soul—
sickening insults
to my inner self—
a burden carried
within the shadowed kingdom.

Falling Away

I want to fall away… but I held on
I want to hold on… yet I fell away
Feelings sway to belong to begone
I wanted tomorrow from a yesterday

We invented time
Does it mean it’ll never end?
Timeless to find
Lifetimes to never know when

I would wish for something I never knew
Yet never can we understand beyond
Living lives exhausted to

monorhyme to while away my time

On Monday Jay was rather gay
merry I mean not the other way
on his algebra he got an A
boasted a bit in way of a bray

what about Tuesday was it a good day?
Yes, because it’s the day he gets his pay
this was stated by his girlfriend Fay
She is older than most, her hair is gray
