I am away from my dear home town

A song series on the Freedom Struggle of India based on my father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor’ (1998 to 1994) Epic “Patradoot” written in 1930 published on Poetry Soup in 2010. Inspired by the famous Harry Belafonte’s song "Jamaica Farewell". The song series would be mainly in English with a Hindi version of the song too.

Part 1 of Song in Text which I hope to sing soon on my You Tube channel.

.
The first song-
.
I am away,
From my dear home town,
Where the sun greets me,
Every morning, and every evening,
The golden rays of Sun,
Spread its smiles on those
Who fight for the freedom
Of their motherland. 01
.
The Sun shines in my hometown,
in full bloom,
And dances every morning n evening,
On the tunes of moving waves,
And It glitters all along,
On the shrine of Triveni’s Sangam. 02 2nd Song in next part 2

.
.
Hindi lines of the English song in Hinglish
.
main door hoon,
apne pyaare grah nagar se,
jahaan suraj meraa swaagat kartaa hai,
har subah aur har shaam,
jahaan surya kii sunahri kirnen,
un par apnii muskaan bikherti hain,
Jo apnii maartrbhumi kii aazadi ke liye ladte hain. 01

mere grah nagar men suraj chamakta hai,
puri tarah se khil kar,
aur har subah shaam nritya kartaa hai,
machalti lahron kii dhun par,
aur yah har samay chamaaktaa rahtaa hai,
trivenii sangam ke tirth par. 02..........................2nd Song in next part 2

Ravindra, the changes aren't the best for an older person like me because I am having to learn new things, but sometimes change makes a person think, learn and grow so maybe that will happen. It is not as easy to find and get to the items we need to get to on here but maybe I can adjust. Sara K

Thanks dear friend Sara for visiting my song Text. Many things have changed here on PS you last visited my PS page. May be this change is good for PS but not for its members as per my way of thinking. The earlier page with all the details was much better and attractive. Hope to visit your new poems soon. With best wishes always....Ravindra K Kapoor

In a world where people don't even fight for their own family, Indians were united to fight for their own country, no matter how much the world changes but I strongly believe that LOVE would always stay.

like how you painted that picture of your hometown with the sun, the waves, and the freedom fighters — it feels warm and full of pride. Also cool that you did a Hindi version too, makes it feel even more real and personal.
