Notes About The Poem

This lyric was inspired by the song "Sailing" by Christopher Cross.

Sail Away With Me

Please join me in this fantasy
and sail away to paradise;
as trade winds blow, our sails are full
so just give in as dreams entice.

For Neverland’s within our reach,
the innocence of love awaits;
it’s calling us to sail away
and enter through her luring gates.

       My fantasy has open arms
       as Eden beckons with her charms.

It’s only but a dream away
this tropic reverie of mine;
please join me on this magic ride
the time is now, our stars align.

We’ll stroll the pure white sands by day
and dream beneath the stars at night
as palm trees sway with ocean breeze;
a fantasy of pure delight.

       Serenity is what we long
       as paradise resounds her song.

      Tranquility has open arms
      as Eden beckons with her charms.

I listened to this song last night before drifting to dream land. I like to replay it at different times, mostly as evening falls... because it takes me to where I want to be. : )

A precious moment, one that's wrapped gently around a million more- bring me back to these words. A heart reflecting in love. I can feel each poetic whisper caressing the depth of my soul. Because . . .

Just beautiful, John, and so is Cross' voice that always draws me. I love each verse, so romantic, and the imagery demands one say yes, I'll go, right now! Your pen has romance free dancing in paradise. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Ah yes my dear friend, let my poetry take you away. I’m glad my thoughts touch you as they do. Perhaps the song you are thinking of is Sailing by Christopher Cross, it is what inspired this piece. Hugs, John
