Premium MemberFaithfully

All I’ve got to give is the best I can;
This version of me is fiery, fine tuned;
I can be an emotional woman,
that’s the poet within being harpooned;
In a way that’s how our journey began,
from the first moment I was all consumed;
Babe, it ain’t ever gonna be easy,
but like the song says you have ‘Faithfully’.

shipwreck

Shipwrecked

He was Japanese, smiled politely
and took his shoes off
I smiled also, it was the right thing
for us to do,  shipwrecked sat
in a rubber raft of the type leaving
Tripoli
Libya, where we murdered Gaddafi
and made a mess in the smaller
states he helped
All this because Tony Blair and the
loathsome French president bored
money from Gaddafi but didn't
want to pay it back
We had harpooned a whale with
a pen knife and a cycle pump
but we didn't have soy sauce and
let the beast go
A blue balloon in a sea of calmness
The setting sun teased us, throwing
gold coins into liquid jade.
At dawn, the Japanese gave me his teeth
and swam towards the rising sun
I gave the teeth to an elderly shark
that, in gratitude, piloted me to Mandalay
where i met another loser selling
pink oversized bra, suitable as tents
for the bombed-out people of Gaza
green plastic buckets and Nottingham
scarf,
The Japanese sent me a postcard offered
me, a Toyota at half-price

Racial harmony is about
common respect

Balefire

Balefire

What glory is a lighthouse with no storm to weather?
For there is no solace in harbouring a harpooned wanderer
Truth be told, I am the jaded sea-torn sailor
Yet they sing to me and call me the Balefire

Doldrums
Doldrums
Dear doldrums you call…..

In endless seas jetsam thoughts seek out the siren’s forever
Despite smooth tides and the steady marauder
Truth be told, I am the sea-sick star-gazer
Yet the sing to me and call me the Balefire

Doldrums
Doldrums
Dear doldrums you call…..

Washed ashore, these barren lands may guide me asunder
I can forget my qualms in search of treasure
Where windward dreams shall starve the fever
Truth be told, I am the moody-marooned mariner
Yet they sing to me and call me the Balefire

Doldrums
Doldrums
Dear doldrums you called…..

They say the ocean is home to many souls lost at sea
The Doldrums tell me there is no greater death than the one within me

aeolian mist of Bretagne
as the orange
sun cannonballs into the
ocean depths. shrillness
of sound on shepherd peaks,
trembles down on panic-grass.
sprites and sirens toss’d from their sleep.
the earth violates, the sea
surmounts.
                        trident stabbed whale —
                        hearty breakfast in
                        the fisherman’s bed.

Dreams

A man did dream
And harpooned a Marlin
And brought with him,
But a monstrous fin.

A dame did dream
Of marrying a rich prince;
She cracked her urn
And broke her dream.

A man did dream
Of nabbing an assassin
But found in him
The greatest sin.

“Do dream, do dream,”
Ear drums resound,
But dreams – are dreams,
They just abound.

Laments of Love

Lamenting love rest upon my humble heart,
May thy candle burn quickly before thy night…
Loves lament lies lingering from far apart,

For the slings and arrows deploy and depart,
Solitary stars sacrificed amidst dying light…
Lamenting love rest upon my humble heart,

A broken hearts graveyard a calamitous compart,
Release my soul this warmless winters white…
Loves lament lies lingering from far apart,

Your love has harpooned a distrustful dart,
Like a raging rioting roar with a bitter bite…
Lamenting love rest upon my humble heart,

Lost in love, arrested & abandoned by black art,
Your voiceless words are daggers that ignite…
Loves lament lies lingering from far apart,

For you, my love has become an infamous impart,
Where tedious tears testify tenderly in twilight…
Lamenting love rest upon my humble heart,
Loves lament lies lingering from far apart.

Premium MemberDevoted To the Sea

devoted to the sea of love or kisses harpooned upon the darkest lips
or just the sea, midnight blue that seaweed wraps, cocoons,
two lovers in lovers art. the moon in cahoots with ebb and flow
and flowers tangled in her hair, but who cares about timeless fantasy,

fantastical that you are mine, in body gently heating or cooling,
lifting with the frangipani breeze and tender oceanic salt. our derrières
exposed and blossoms of foam frolic, rising, falling, frenetically sliding,
eyes closed in momentum’s meditation. the sea...the sea...the sea,
explains the utterance of moaning lips, softly playing in lyrical colorwash.

Stubborn Soul

Upon my intransigence, I seek solitudes,
sovereign of their state…
Pertaining to my pensive pertinacity,
rigidity reigns supreme…
Idol inflexibilities sustain my endurance,
thus my punitive perseverance ponders still…
For love be the catalyst that displaces my fortitude,
my firmness, my patience, my stamina staggers…
My valorous veins victimized with a wounded will,
I lay to rot a mortified morsel a malignant mammoth...
But yet I hold ground, entombed by the presence of love,
harpooned through the heart,
enslaved by its tentacles of tenacious tyranny…
For I am a man of vigorous valor,
violated by the view of Venus.

Premium MemberDance of the Dam

It has been far too long cold
at the dam of this great galloping river
where tonight I have
stolen the villagers’ dancer
and set her ablaze
to amuse distracted chill
while I latch to the trailing smoke
and slowly
       fade
away
to be warmed by the stillness
of a red coral reef
of a blue burning starfish
of an ancient whale harpooned & worn
all awash on the beach
in an all too familiar flurry of snow

                        &
                re(dis)appear
                 in the snow

SHARK IN THE SOUP

               Dragon harpooned shark,
               bought soporific spices.
               to prepare soup.
He cut shark in small pieces
             and boiled with ingredients.

                 Dinosaur was guest.
              Dragon offered soup to taste.
                  Vegan dinosaur
                  sip delicious fluid
              Dragon relished bark, bone, flesh.

                 They enjoyed full,
              celebrated festive eve,
               felt tipsy drowsy.
               With dreamy eyes both tried
                to count sparkling twinkling stars.

Thick Skin

Oh, to have skin that's thick and tough
Where nothing's really strong enough
To penetrate and cause a wound,
Too thick to even be harpooned.

Some lucky souls are built that way
And keep life's stings and barbs at bay,
Protected by such armored skin
That nothing hurtful trickles in.

Alas, my skin's like cellophane;
Each minor pinprick causes pain.
An upgrade to a thicker hide
Would help slough off my wounded pride.

Spirits of Sorrow

What is life without love?

And love without any life...

For I die a thousand times,
And enter a thousand hells...
Wasted wedding bells...

My heart pinned against your knife...

And scorned within the emptiness
Of it’s shattered shells.

“Lift thy dungeon dagger,
and be off with thee to the land of never...
for thou hast harpooned my very soul,
and as I slowly stagger,
my heart shall surely sever...
before I leave this hellish hole.

Come lift my spirit and sorrow...
perhaps our love was never meant to be,
for if I must beg and bitterly borrow...
for thy precious love and my sanity.

Off to yonder fields...Away to heavenly tides
Where my spirit yields...And my love hides...

Be it not the will of man to chase love...
To be seduced by its warmth and cunning...
To dance with masquerades...
To suckle on its honeydew...
Farewell, bittersweet love...
For your caress is like a lion, untamed and unfed.”

What evil lurks in the hearts of men, “Only The Shadow Knows”
An introduction to an old radio thriller, scared me down to my toes
But had to stay tuned
