What's left of Mother Nature's leaves
are strewn across her frosty girth.
A solemn bird chirps alone this eve
as fall is laid to rest on earth.
Twinkle, O stars, the gods be at dice,
and the sky is bursting with riches tonight!
The air's taken chilly, the ground shines with ice.
Outside, we all gather in awe at the sight.
Out of the cosmos at a marvelous pace
a comet unfurls its glittering mane.
There's a hopeful look on everyone's face
that the wishes they cast will not be in vain.
Settling softly, the Queen takes her throne,
her herald now harkened, the court bows its head.
Casting her rays, so serene, so alone,
she laments that her lover lies cold in his bed.
The mirthful King Sun, and lustrous Queen Moon,
can share but one kiss as each trades their place.
The Queen shines at midnight, the King at high noon,
each forever desiring the other's embrace.

The sun began to rise at the pale wink of dawn
just as the moon wearied and started to fade.
There were dappled rays spread across my lawn
then disappeared behind a maple forest glade.
Refulgent light hovered above earth at midday
while the moon rested before her nightly reign.
As people basked and romped all day in play,
celestial bodies pretend that it's sleep they feign.
The sun bowed and dimmed on the cusp of twilight
Awakening, were the cratered eyes of the moon.
A golden glow of sunset was ebbing before my sight
and Luna was rising with the trilling song of a loon.
Ra slipped into the sea as the horizon darkened.
Moonlight nodded to stars in a sky of midnight blue.
A deep sigh was heard; to the moon the sun harkened.
He whispered to her in their passing, "I bid you adieu."

Fate!
She rowed in moonlit night and I
Was staring in the darkie deep
She smiled and at once I enthralled
She with Her mystic eyes peep
She harkened come and sit with me
You standing at the forlorn shore
I'm there roving , all alone
I'll be lonely now no more
She said I'll be at thy side
And hence she gave me oars
I sat in boat with her and she
Opened the ocean door
She said that thou with mystic eyes
Now shore thou can not see
I'll be at thy side and thou
Forever live with me
I'm the second life of world
I'm eternity
In wavy ocean dipped she oars
And boat too far off went
I slept on floor of bluish deep
Along with flowery scent

I almost died the other day
but fate said to wait for another day
I was walking along & the world looked surreal
Not imagining that it was really real.
I felt like there was a better place -
space around me sinking to my pace.
Concrete & houses looked like a stage
A place where people rant and rage.
As I was walking I felt at peace
and almost felt my soul release.
I pondered a moment on letting go
and decided to instead pick up the phone.
I dialed my children my mother and grandma.
None of them answered what could have been my last call.
My daughter finally harkened just in time
but a beep interrupted & fate was on the line.
They said my test was critically off,
hurry to the ER or my life would be lost.
I was admitted and my life was then saved
divine intervention removed one foot from the grave

The store aisles are now filled, with red~pink running everywhere. Hearts of all sizes can be found, from cards to candy to animals. With all this stuff, what is one to buy. I harkened back to that day, our first Valentine’s Day when you were away. A simple~beautiful card we each mailed, our cards were each filled with love~kisses.

The silence of your speech,
it was for me the absence
most glaring and further
deafening
that in this life I harkened
and felt... !

Hoarder holds her hostage, heaps heavy history hysterics.
Her husband, horrific. Harried hugs humiliate. Hops, hits
hags — harmed honeymoon. Hiss harkened hellbound Harris.
Hysterical Helena hinted hate, harbinger hackles heightened, hot.
How? Hagfish homicide? Herbs? Homer helps Helena hack!

Down the difficult road,
they harkened to
go before me.
They were sick and tired
of being dragged down here
And the desert and the palm trees
were calling ..
The night was so dark
But they heard of no fear ..
At dawn,
taken by heat and thirst,
down the difficult road,
they burst into tears ..
They left the horses in the stable
without a prance or saddle
And set the mules to rumble
so as not to wheedle or muddle
They caused everyone to pandle
Why life is so hard to handle!
Down the difficult road,
they harkened to
go before me.

No light enters the deep, dark caverns of depravity
As soulless forms become the dwellers of the night
Creatures of abysmal proportions know not of sanity
They are cursed to wander streets without the light
Seeking out, they feed from the necks of uniformity
They drain the many, as blood becomes their plight
Harkened to the likes of those who practiced heresy
Consuming, as they please until the sun shines bright

Lost in a vacuum of darkness
Hearing beats of a distant drum
A marshaling cadence that harkened
Together we'll overcome
Advancing I paused to listen
The sonorous pounding increased
It's volume and rhythm did hasten
My lonely anxiety had ceased
I knew nothing now could stop me
Adrenaline numbed all sense of fear
My pace became more lively
As the darkness began to clear
Then suddenly another thumping
I tried to make sense of it all
My nerves were raw and jumping
From within I began to recall
A memory beckoned sweetly
Of days forever gone
Tucked away so neatly
For sake of moving on
Convinced my chance was over
For happiness and love
My world grew cold and lonely
Like a hand without its glove
I, the seedling, springing forth
After I had died
Know the measure of the wealth
Of love when last I tried
Then suddenly the beating
Of the drums began to sync
Oh, the possibilities
My mind began to think
Here was I, a lonely man
In darkness, Till the end
I've heard the call to see the light
Which shines on me again

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord
Assured is he who trust is in the name of the Lord
Blessed assurance is the Lord who reigns for ever
Oracles spoke and prophecy breathed life to men
In times of distress men harkened to the voice
Saying.. the sun was darkened and the moon
Turned the colour of blood.. but the end is not yet
For the Lord reigns and unto him belongs Dominion
Will not the Almighty one call all unto judgement..
Will not the creator call all to account for their doings
Will it not be a shower of glad tidings
As the throne of Judgement is unveiled
And the righteous receive their reward
Even so the work is not yet finished
Even so the end is not yet.. says he
I will come like a thief.. keep watch

The story is told
In the Rome of old
A man took the road
Bearing the load
The cross of shame
Guilt and blame
All to us shove
His unending love
The story had been told
A prophecy that waited to unfold
He who had eyes beheld
And was fortunately compelled
He who had ears harkened
News that saddened
That the innocent was slain
All to bear another’s pain
The story is always told
That forbearance and love may hold
As the wisdom that ought to be sought
Even profitable if bought
Not for sale but for keeps
That a man may make leaps
Peaceful even with his enemies
With speech full of remedies

There once was a heart left there yet now it's lost in darkness bare,
Shattered,
Yet holding out in these confines holds strong a celtic moor of unfastened wear,
Steadfast,
And as that darkened whirlwinds pull keeps pounding at the last held door, a harkened one of ageless strength keeps holding out with bardic care,
Wizened,
For as the young of truest might, a king cannot take fright for peace eternal is well fought for and never given for less than tear,
Honored,
Even still a piece must roam in deepest tome around the corners of war,
Flighted,
Still a one must hold the key to find this place forever sealed and free the mind of endless strife,
Purity
As all roads do lead from one, unto an endless passing run.

From seas of green, to darkened woe
The winds do blow the grief
In Maelstrom's tide, to havens low
We waken death from sleep
Harkened to the evening star
The evil calls the foe
Into the tide of the Maelstrom
Into the deep below
Dark haven, cruel Raven
Where shall you then depart?
The whole ship has sunken
Into the whirlpool's heart
The moon will shine from up above
Till darkness ends the light
The moaning mist of deadened love
The sad, lost wings of flight
Demon waters drown the glee
Of all remaining hope
The gift to hear, the gift to see
Left us long ago
Dark haven, cruel Raven
Where shall you then depart?
The whole ship has sunken
Into the whirlpool's heart
Dark haven, cruel Raven!
Where shall you fall tonight?
The whole world is shaken
In Maelstrom's sick delight

Who wanders amidst rose petals, starved of love, reaching for the thorns?
What destroys the heart, sacred, more than loneliness from bitter winds born?
When light dances above the fallen, peace and hope remain alive...
Where our prayers are held, the spirit longs to reside, longs to thrive...
Why then why does the poet weep harkened from a wilted garden?
