The Hearts Demise

Who wanders amidst rose petals, starved of love, reaching for the thorns?
What destroys the heart, sacred, more than loneliness from bitter winds born?
When light dances above the fallen, peace and hope remain alive...
Where our prayers are held, the spirit longs to reside, longs to thrive...
Why then why does the poet weep harkened from a wilted garden?

We poets create so many images. Mostly they are scenes of bloom and beauty. It's when we write about death, decay and loss, that sombre thoughts heighten. Then the very next day, we bring life through our words to the paper. Terrific write Rhonda, and many congratulations in Harry's contest. Have a lovely Monday :)

We poets do tend to spend time wandering - in the garden or in our minds. Congratulations.

Unanswered dreams and dimmed moonbeams are what makes poetry classic. I'll have mine with a side of pickle, possibly a Vlasic. :) Beautiful poem Rhonda. You really said so much in each line.
