Chubby Cheeks

I'm no grump
nor one to dump
let alone mock
but I can't like or lump
a pudgy frump
in a frock
who my world don't shock
yet here's the kicker
as a chick
she'd be slicker
and not to deride
but if she'd lose a few
a pound or two
the sooner the quicker
on either side
she'd be bodacious
I'd be flirtatious
and we'd roll and rock
around the clock

Premium Member a determined grump

his face was a frown
generating hot anger
a determined grump

Trump Caused Slump and Am a Grump

we had known that trump
put economy in a slump
became an old grump

Premium Member He's Such a Grump

Republicans revere Donald Trump

lining up to kiss his royal rump

and Mitch McConnell's lips

like his tongue; often slips,

it's no wonder he's such a grump.

Dump Trump the Grump

Trump slipped on the ice as a kid
His mum thought that he'd flipped his lid
Because - with the dawn -
His ethics were gone
His dad blamed the Wizard of Id

A six-times bankrupt is not a fool
Just a crook decidedly cruel
He buys without paying
Thinks chicks are for laying
With free bleach injections for school

Premium Member Neanderthal Me

A Neanderthal me comes at night,
He’s storm and grumpy, an ugly blight.
You will not see him with human eyesight.
But he’ll be unkind, and I don’t mean slight.

Premium Member Grump and a Grouse

A grump and a grouse ran around town.
Griping and groaning, whining around.
So full of guff
We’d had enough.
Sent them to a circus to be happy clowns.

Aliens All

Alien Captain Darth Veeder
Texted, "Take me to your leader"
He met Donald Trumup
And snarled, " What a grump!
You must be The Sludge-brained Tweeter!"

(For Caren Krutsinger's "Take me to your leader" contest)

Old Grump

OLD GRUMP

Old Grump, harumph
Lived in a shack,
No toilet,
House out back.
When approached,
He’d glower
With a face turned sour.
He felt the world against him,
And en-fenced him
To be fated
To live isolated.
Then one day in May
His front stoop suddenly featured
A scraggly, mangy four-legged creature
With droopy ears
And expression mournful.
Whose approach seemed to be only
That he was lonely
And a friend he wished to be
As he snuggled Grump’s knee,
Who, with slow comprehension
Felt a loving attention.
And, with a pat on the head,
Smilingly said,
“ You may be skin and bone,
And I a worn-out guy
But we can have a loving tie
And never again feel all alone.”
 Old Grump lost his scowl
And, with but a friendly feat,
Sour was turned to sweet.
