Neanderthal Me

A Neanderthal me comes at night, He’s storm and grumpy, an ugly blight. You will not see him with human eyesight. But he’ll be unkind, and I don’t mean slight.

Thank you Angie. I have been writing poetry for almost three years now, so I have truly figured out some ways to rev up Trixie, my muse. The dictionary and Pinterest. I make myself open the dictionary randomly and use the first three to ten words that hit me. This keeps me full of ideas.

I can be so grumpy that my husband will sit quietly in a chair, barely breathing for an hour, hoping I will not notice that he is still living.

Keep the Neanderthal bat in the bed...knock him on his noggin! He’ll see stars. You will get a good night’s sleep ;)
