The Greeter

The drug store has a greeter,
There to welcome you inside.
He also helps at check-out,
Where some people need a guide.

His smile is big and friendly,
So he gets grins in return,
Which the store should use to influence
Whatever he might earn.

Since the city’s huge and crowded,
It is wonderful to find
An employee who spreads joy
With every customer in mind.

Check your attitude at the door the greeter said.
What kind of greeter is that?
A negative greeter with a bad attitude if you ask me
I decided not to go inside that restaurant
If I want to hear stuff like this
I can go home

Just like visiting walmart- but with truckers and yogurt

offering sweet melodies

my mood suddenly lightened
I stroll toward the woodland

His Dog Is a Greeter

The man is not famous
But his dog is the best
He greets all of us neighbors
Better than all of the rest.
When on the street, you and this dog meet
He jumps straight into the air, a real “greet” treat!

I Am the Greeter

I flit from room to room greeting
Because it is what I like to do
I consider myself the daily greeter
It makes me happy

Some of them cringe
Hoping I am not going to take them away
From their frenzied planning
Which should have been done last week

I take note of their somber expressions
Their lack of enthusiasm
And I flit to a different room
Where there might be a happier coworker

Sometimes I find them
Sometimes I don’t
But I start every day being optimistic
That today is the day everyone is happy.

I know it is just a matter of the right day.

Be God's Greeter

Do not let gloom get in your way
at start of day.
God gave the sun
to everyone.

When the sun shines, borrow a beam
and let it gleam
inside your soul.
Swallow it whole!

Let it light a smile on your face.
Radiate grace.
Be God's greeter.
Make life sweeter!
