The Greeter

The drug store has a greeter,
There to welcome you inside.
He also helps at check-out,
Where some people need a guide.

His smile is big and friendly,
So he gets grins in return,
Which the store should use to influence
Whatever he might earn.

Since the city’s huge and crowded,
It is wonderful to find
An employee who spreads joy
With every customer in mind.

Truly wonderful, indeed!! Send this greeter to Chicago pronto! We need a few rays of sunshine in this super-polarized town. Send him 'C.O.D!' Keep smiling, Gershon

Dear Ilene, your poem delights with its heartwarming portrayal of service with a smile! The details, as the "big and friendly" grin, transport me right to the welcoming scene. You capture the joy and humanity in this humble role. A wonderful aspect to appreciate those who make our days brighter through simple kindness. Charming work! - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

I enjoy this generous poem. He is a joy, and so are the people, like you, who appreciate him. Your poetry is joyous.
