Grasshopper Poems - Poems about Grasshopper

Premium MemberIf I were a Grasshopper

If I were a grasshopper
I could jump ten times my length
I am five foot two inches
For me this means, I could jump one hundred feet
I picture myself jumping up to the rooftop
And leaping over two or three buildings
Jumping over the tops of the roofs of skyscrapers

Grasshopper

You are alive,
squirming in my hand
like a dissatisfied infant
or a fish searching for water.
You are alive, we are alive.
There is something the same in us-
some spark undefinable,
except by contrast to its cold absence: death.
You have a mind and survival instincts
and stoic eyes like a sixth sense I cannot recognize.

The quiet of the dissection room
is heavy

Premium Memberthe day I saw a flying grasshopper

I saw a flying grasshopper
He was wearing a blue cape and red leotards
I wondered who dressed him
Why didn’t you ask? My mother said.
This is when I realized
I get my active imagination from both sides of my family.

Grasshopper, you have learned in time,
All that’s poetry does not rhyme,
And now you must also learn to see -
All that rhymes is not poetry.

Gourmet Grasshopper

After the spider made lunch of the fly
A curious grasshopper leapt on by
He told the fly with gusto
I really now must go
to dine on my worm and centipede pie!

Premium MemberGrasshopper and Ants

Grasshopper and the ants were having a laid-back day
They did what they wanted, snoozing and snoring away
The meadow was breezily uplifting, sharing her grasses.
I like being here with my friends, the lads and the lasses.

Premium MemberPatience, Grasshopper

Out of the gate
Starting off great
Fast as he can
Flash in the pan
Not halfway there
Warning signs flare
Starting to care:
Who snatched the air?
Feeling the burn
Got much to learn
Big sweaty mass
Near out of gas
Running on fumes
Disaster looms
End is in sight
Form’s not so tight
Finish line crossed
One thing’s not lost:
Still got his grin
Do it again!

Copper Instead of Gold

People now walk up to copper,
Where Gold isn't for the hoper
And silver starves seekers proper:
Every single eager shopper...

Then go for the waiting copper,
Gold bound to be a Heart Stopper;
From behind bullets The Dropper
Your shooter off with his chopper.
Also, with your Gold - Changed Pauper;
You as dead as the grasshopper
That manure secures for a cropper...

Only go

Premium MemberSlurping Down Grasshopper Pie

The pure green goodness of grasshopper pie!
Tasting that mint gives me a delicious high!
Thinking of insects as I eat is my last choice.
But this recipe was penned by a humor named Joyce.

So come on marshmallows and Oreos too.
We are going to have to make this insane name do.
We all gulp it down without thinking about
The

Premium MemberGrasshopper Moth Queen

Grasshopper moth queen’s job is a delicate one.
She must send out the tiny moths one by one.
Hope and optimism are tucked away in their wings
They fly as delicately as a robin sing.

She is thoughtful and kind, and she uses a light touch.
The moths that are sent, love her help very much.
They sprinkle joy amid the

Premium MemberGrasshopper's Journey

Grinning grasshopper gallops gracefully,
Getting garden grasses,
Gathering green grapes,
Grasping gorgeous goldenrods,
Grazing grand grounds,
Greeting greedy grubs,
Gliding gallantly...
           Going,
               Going,
