Premium Member Maximizing Gladness of Merry May

"Let all thy joys be as the month of May, And all thy days be as a marriage day."
         - Thomas Tusser

MAY of gladness, blest with vibrant ray
all the way bestowed by God each day.

MAY month, filled with radiant delight
brings triumph, miraculously bright.

MAY days of peaceful pace midst life's race
help us face woes' phase with divine grace.

MAY deeds that love feeds are wondrous acts
gifts of care we share midst marriage packs.

MAY hopes upon faith scopes for success' gain
let's soar with prayer-score to joy's terrain.

Premium Member A POTD Invitation

POTD is often filled with sadness
Not often is there joy and gladness

Not much laughter fills this world
Little humour gets unfurled

Little gratitude for what one has
Woe is me I'm lost and sad alas

Lets have some days of poetic jokes
Lots of fun filled jolly pokes

Great medicine comes from laughter
Lifts the spirit for hours long after

POTD sometimes filled with glee
Are there others or is this invitation only me

Perhaps at least one day a month a Sunday
to be reserved for a POTD humour fun day

Premium Member GLADNESS

Recall with me those wild and free
passionate days of young glory,
with racing pulses at a touch,
      early in our story;

when hope met want and wanted hope
and doubt was given blind love’s eyes;
when sounds of discord were drowned out
      by laughter and by sighs;

when mystery and discovery
walked hand in hand along the way
and mutual findings, so lovely,
      enriched our every day;

when, parted any time at all,
we felt it much too long to bear;
and hunted hungry-eyed until
      we saw the other there.

A time of growing surety;
of testing out and finding good.
‘Could this one be the one for me?’ -
      and finding this one could.

That spirit found its oaken home.
The years have burnished love to gold;
mellow but stronger than its youth,
      though we have grown old.

Peace and joy - and rare sadness -
I’ve loved our walk through time Agnes.
Fresh then full, and promising more,
      we’ve shared a life of gladness.

Premium Member Christmas madness in all its gladness

Holiday cheer, that glorious season is here, where one was far from pious all year, now all are forgiven, far from a sinner, a boastful roast, everyone is a bashful winner, merriment for all involved, how the painstaking gruel and graft of the year has taken its toll, fine winners and devious diners with all its dazzle and shine, a well prepared occasion, it proved more than sublime.

Premium Member Festive madness and gladness

Robin red breast, orange zest, such a fanciful fest
Christmas glorified madness is here, the holy babe
in his cradle to whom we shed a momentous tear
Church bells are ringing, carol singers with gladness are
singing for his joyous occasion, the celebratory meal is
without persuasion
Heaven does behold, another great gift wrapped and sold
New year’s shenanigans, no stories left untold
Bubbles drank upon the hour,
Enough cheer to go around, don’t leave even a soul dour

Let's Jump In

Sometimes ‘jump-into-something’ has a negative connotation

But let’s revisit that saying and define it

As an affirmation

Let’s jump-into-faith

Leaving behind every opportunity for doubt to close the gate

Let’s jump-into-delight

Abandoning the things that cause us fright

Let’s jump-into-hope

Dismissing all that makes it impossible to cope

Let’s jump-into-joy

Letting go of what is meant to maim and destroy

Let's jump-into-gladness

Leaping over everything that brings us sadness

Let's jump-into-love

Moving out of reach of darkness before it hovers above

Let’s jump-into-pride

Releasing all the dignity we have stored inside

Let’s give 'jump-into-something'

One more consideration

And assign it a label of positivity and inspiration

Let's  jump-into-something

Premium Member A Gladness of Days

In perpetual sunshine of years, a bouquet a day,
varicolored and beautiful, chanting blooms' warm, deep yellow praise!
My garden gleeful is always looking on the bright side.

Premium Member Cheer of Gladness Nursery Rhyme

Let's greet each one with gladness'* cheer
We're like good brothers, sisters dear
Around victorious partnership
Inside safe vessel called friendship.

With warm hello for joyful day
We show God's blessings all the way
Giving sweet smile so jubilant
Makes us feel wondrously vibrant.

Saying "Take care" gives comfort gain
Making us conquer hardship's pain
Also bringing peaceful delight
Marked by hope for morning that's bright.

Let kindness reign in every heart
With love's greeting right from the start
As Mom and Dad with all their best
Teach us do in their caring zest.

*Psalm 105:43 …He (GOD) brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.

In My Gladness

Where are all the thousand cuts?
who do they speak for now
what do they whisper
in the wind?

Where are all the haunting notes
which echoed endless so
as hot tears stained
the aging floor?

Where are all the lonely thoughts
which sat so long weeping
in furthest reaches
of my mind?

Where are all the piercing words
from stoic citadels of rage
upon whose ears
do they land?

Mine is not to wander aimless
reaching in fading mists
yet rather stay long
in my gladness.
