The 20-pound butterball turkey rests
On a table laden with condiments;
We bow our heads, reach out our hands and bless
And say grace which presupposes our content.
But as we eat, the elephant harrumphs
To lead our banter and wordplay astray,
We assert on Gaza or butterball Trump
Or some other donnybrook of the day.
Alas, the turkey is now quite slighted
And acrimony stuffs the upper hand;
Our argued points are skewed with gestured knife,
Though not a one convinced to alter stand.
Afterward, leftovers are jammed into
Vacuum bags should we choose to someday use.

She came to me when I brought in carts
and she was filling online grocery orders.
I gestured to her and handed her a poem
just written the other day, but I just
had to share it with her
line and verse.
It was a day in April
when a grove of trees
were in full bloom
and the air full of promise.
I took a poetic leap
although it felt
as if I’ve loved her
for years.
She clenched my paper in her hand
said she’d read it during lunch.
I told her to read between the lines
then read it again.
Others left the break room
when we sat together
and a moment of silence said
more than I ever could.
I was retired from my job
of traveling and controlling traffic
for work crews in other states
and learning to live again
while she now working full-time
after divorce.
And four months earlier
she asked me if I was staying.
In the break room
the moments we shared
when I offered her some extra food
passed with a whisper
and an hour later
someone in customer service
said I had to clear a spill
in an aisle where she stood—
she asked for me.

I didn't see you there; hey!
I didn't expect you; but hey!
I almost lost hope for you; but hey there!
Like any other day,
I walked my usual path,
I was certain nothing unusual would happen,
These days have been more of a routine.
I did write about you;
And there you were;
You looked like you embodied all the 'good' in the 'good morning'.
And that smile, smiling at a stranger like that!
I knew I had lost when I saw the smile.
You said 'hello', and whatever followed after flew past me.
I know I gestured for you to repeat what you said;
Sorry, I was still locked in that smile.
All the love songs I had saved on my playlist flashed in my head at once.
I know it's an exaggeration; I know.
But that's how I felt when I met you.
Along the usual path, I found someone unusual.
It turned out you needed guidance to your destination.
While we talked, I shone in your eyes.
You found me just as I found you.
My absolute love was, and has been written.
I wrote about you before I met you,
And writing about you was just as beautiful as the wishes, and prayers that brought you to me.

“The moon’s vision of humanity
Was something that it once desired
Tinkle, swoouf, it pondered
As it’s luminescence gazed at its prodigious oceans
The defunct dissection of the body fell into silence as it glanced back
Clish, clash, it wavered
It’s fluorescence gestured odiously
Enraging it’s radiance with envy
Woosh, clasps, oceans grew in his incensed intention
It never had a society that walked on its ground
A place, that humans recall home
stomp, clasp, It thought
Oceans trickled with peril as the moon grew its waves
Slash, sloosh, the clutter that pollutes the water clustered against its weight
The moon then rebounded; remarking the objects
Sling slang, swoosh, oceans sang it's mercy
It’s reminiscence then discerned the cunning truth
“The grass always seems greener on the other side”

MOON HEARTS PASSIONATE LIGHT-
For my passionate night
So shines the moonlight
Gestured passionate
As you are
Moon shines on your body
Sun has set beyond its reach
Up in the skies lunar smiles
Dazzling are your eyes
As shall you illuminate
So is your smile desolate
Beautiful the moonlit night
Just as you are, Moon hearts passionate light

Shadows on walls, enjoyment of shapes
Rabbits, Dogs all made to enthrall
The feeling of late, drowned in sound
Time for a walk, shadow beckons
Lost the energy that once abounded
Standing enjoying birds and scenery
A giggle, from where? no one around
I looked down at the ground
My shadow standing next to me
Off I go, shadow followed
Need a rest, stopped and rested
My shadow moved onward
How can this be, I looked in amazement
my shadow turned, waving gestured
I looked around, no one to be seen
I returned the wave, sheepishly
My shadow strode on, turning occasionally
No one around, I shouted wait for me
My shadow stood still, waiting patiently
I ran to join my shadow, feeling foolish
We became one again, sigh of relief
Are we ready, a silent question?
Off we strode life is waiting.

I was driving to work on Monday morn
when behind me I heard a honking horn
A guy's middle finger taunted with scorn,
and that's the moment my road rage was born.
Normally, I'd smile and give him a wave
like I hadn't seen the finger he gave,
but this dude continued to misbehave
and almost rammed me. It was a close shave!
Traffic was slow. There must've been a wreck.
We were barely moving along this trek,
as his face turned red, then so did his neck,
but I didn't cause it, so what the heck?
Then every lane came to a complete stop.
He screamed at me on the highway black top.
I opened my door to jab him a pop...
a Mr. Miyagi karate chop!
He lunged at me, with breath smelling of brew
so, I sidestepped boozy punches he threw.
Can't fight a drunk although I came close to
when he gestured again, yelling, "Screw you!!!"

Cross is the first Christian symbol
of love and salvation.
It’s the Lord’s sacrifice for all,
His precious redemption.
Gestured during prayer
God lifts when we suffer,
Armor of believers.
Cross is a holy guardian,
Cross is a mark of Christians.

Easily with our ears picked
But mostly with our Feet kicked:
A skirting round a dance floor
Back and forth its entrance door.
No sooner by cochlea’s filtered
Than it is by lips uttered
And by the hands gestured,
As swinging them is nurtured:
Corrupted hips in a non-stop undulation,
Fantasizing eyes, a ceaseless dilation
Every second impressing Rotational Speed
Little or no restraint to heed.
A balm for wounded spirit music:
An eraser of a hurting hiss,
A genre faithfully fanning out pleasantries,
Another volunteering unfamiliar quaintness:
The First, A Melody For The Mild
The Second A Package for The Wild
The Former by Degrees boisterous
The Latter ever willing to be mysterious
A served dish of contrasting choices
By an as much contrasting voices
Quick millions showers an upcoming talent
A supporting shoulder for the voice with a dent
Curiously to some readers, A Great Help
And when they can’t it reach A Yelp!

Genuine dollars from just shredded papers!
Risked bloodless jumps from sky scrapers!
A repeated mad stabbing of one’s bowel with a dagger,
one amusedly looking back at the waiters for a stagger;
All, a seeming control of Autonomous Nature,
To the mightily attracted, an enough mental torture.
His bamboozled face sometimes worshipfully handsome
Over a barefaced holding of Nature to ransom…
This, though, a piteous misconstruction of Reality,
As magic remains miles away from Actuality;
Just as Scheming, Ingenious Devil is from God
And a gestured ‘nay’ from ‘a nod’…
In theatres commercially displayed
And in open squares freely replayed,
Faultless jobs that are but a trick,
Disparaging Laws strong like Brick;
Undeserving pockets with money stashing
And deceiving graceful necks garlanding…
If magical powers be Satan’s invention
Then one is a professing achiever of his invention,
At once, his minister
With clearly missions sinister.
Settling for a tomorrow wearing a puncture
And unthinking forfeiture of a happy future.

Sound sleep, cozy bed, slow stretch, feeling great
Perfect weather, gentle breeze, soft sunlight
Table laid, with tasty food on my plate
The morning so far, infusing delight
At the traffic light, knock on my window
A passerby gestured to my car wheel
I got down seeing, much to my sorrow
Flat tyre, dampening my joyful feel
Fifteen minutes later, with a stiff back
Spare wheel in place but my briefcase stolen
A hapless victim of a theft attack
As reflex response, my heart spewed poison

Outside, was rested, on a chair,
The night, my eyes where lent,
What lies, I quested, as I stirred,
Doth lights, with shine intent,
As I so gestured, long a glare,
A sight, it came by, so went,
My mind requested, from a flare,
Ignited, flames thy smoke scent,
An aroma, known, remembered,
A wind reminiscent, blow past,
A moment, shown, glowing ember,
Cinder, evanescence, so cast,
The distance, so it never returned,
Lightening, suddenly it blows, out,
Though it's existence, forever burns,
Reciting thunder, to echo without,
And so, life flashes, from afar,
All we have is times gone bye,
I look at the ashes of the stars,
That still brighten the night sky.

The Atlantean’s : Bce
(South coast of Britain)
The old man stood on the shore and felt the morning chill cutting deeply into him , the sky was grey and mirrored the mood of the few survivors that had gathered , all of who’m looked outward for a miraculous salvation .
The old one turned ‘and pulling his wrapping’s tighter spoke .
“Now that our beloved Atlantis
is thus consumed by that dark and terrible abyss ‘a new-age has now Dawned “.
“Our home and The people who will forever remain there and the ways Of materialism are dead to us now”.
He paused and briefly looked back to the new great ocean that lay before them .
“And therefore confined to the Deep and thus must become willingly forgotten”.
He bravely smiled back at those gathered around him his eyes streaming and heart breaking .
“let us now in their stead and for the sake of our past ignorance’s and mistakes ‘burn the books of all we know “.
he held up his hand in supplication too the shocked faces of those stood around him .
He gestured towards the inland and continued
“And by that ashen light begin anew to write about the things we don't ........

I scored myself a ticket
for a trip down memory lane.
Time has surely passed
but the music's still the same.
Photographs and relics,
adorn unaltered tapestry
Yesteryears' reflections,
still displayed for all to see.
My ears a'buzzing with a charm,
heart's now filled with joyous glee.
Mesmerized right from the start
of that majestic melody.
Trumpets hum and guitars strum,
what a glorious symphony!
It takes me away, back to the days
of the way life used to be.
My sweet sweet surrender,
that heavenly-sent scent
Bollas and koeksisters as I remember;
both so decadent.
Their tempting aroma
fills the air
so lovely and so sweet
Coconut,cinnamon and aniseed,
still Cape Town's humbly gestured treat.
