Premium Member The Foiler

He foils all jokes, punchlines and jocularity
He foils all contrary philosophies in hilarity
He's sarcastic and sardonic, he's even ironic
Soon to be iconic and witted supersonic
He stands for absolute truth, this trailer trash sleuth
Rap Reynolds is his name, giving noogies is his game

This spark started in a trailer park
Conceived to be, and to leave his mark
A foiler of all who attempt comedy
And the outcome (for them) is a tragedy
All those who claim contrariness will be slain
He will counteract the bane of the vain

Spoiler alert The Foiler has come to foil the plans
Ready, aim, fire and all the funny business dying with a laugh
Oh no it seems every time an Eighties tune is played
(Within earshot) I transport instantly to that time and space
And for every knee slapper there is a counteract-er
He never went to college and he'll steal all your musical knowledge

P.S. Does he chortle and guffaw at every flaw
Is he witty and urbane towards the lines that are flubbed
Nah he just needs his tummy rubbed
And even though she is in a different dimension
He thinks a lot of Emma Bankz, she's his cardinal direction

Premium Member Write on Poetry

What inspires me are the trees that surround me,
how they green in the Spring, how starlings
become leaves in the Winter, and the melodies
of sparrows, bluebirds and robins tug at my heart.

What inspires me is watching my grandkids,
they’re verve, vigor, and nerve make me float;
me and my muse amused by their mischief,
compassion and funny business.

What inspires me is my belief, my hope, my unwavering,
spirit-filled field of vision. I’m inspired by every whisper,
every word, every mystery, truth of the living God; by
the cross that brings me to my knees, and I find no words
to convey my salvation and relationship in Christ, yet
I do my best, dance around, meditate, pray, trust I
will say something weakly profound.

What inspires me is all around - nature, my family,
silly and serious things, aging, moods, night and day.

I could go on. I write. I write. It is right. Don’t stop me now.
I preach, teach, grieve, fall down, get up. You, dear reader
inspire me. Forms and other writers inspire me. I’m inspired.

Premium Member Silliness Wins

Silliness is a big part of my day
Without it life's filled with clouds of grey
Yay for silliness
A funny business
There's no avoiding this horsie type play

Premium Member Wanna Fight

A funny thing happened to me at the saloon last night
This dude approached me and asked me if I was up for a fight
Answered “sure, why not”
Punched him on the snout
Last time he'll try funny business with an armored knight

Premium Member Loki's Fall From Aesir

Malevolent demon,
Exploiter of pure malice,
And funny business,

Sif's whorish haircut
Enraged Thor, then soothes gods,
With tripartite gifts,

Goaded Balder's death,
Had perverse shape-shiftier Thokk
More appeasing piques,

Clings Narvi's bowels,
Whilst pains cured by Sigyn's bowl,
Vows evil frequents.

In the Big House

So you’re in the big house
With the big car
The big driveway
And the big yard
With the big pool
The big fortress of high hedges
Between you and your foes

You had big plans
And big dreams
Big promises
And big schemes
A premise for every square-inch
Since the day you were born,
They raised you to “think big!”

You were indoctrinated
with big ideals
Big concepts and big half-truths
The dogma about a man in the sky
Pervading your consciousness

You’ve grown to love the big comforts
A glutton for luxury, a co-dependent
Creature of dangerous habits
A fiend for the sixty-hour work-week
And a junky for distraction

Once the big lifestyle got in your system,
There’s no excising it now
They might as well take a scalpel to your heart
And a scissors to your spirit

You fell hook, line and sinker
For the big lie, the big funny business
The next big thing – the Big Time, Bill!

What’s the big idea? Hey, bigger is better
Try to be the bigger person
All big diamonds and big deeds,
Your big stick of opulence
shining in the Little Big Room
We got bigger fish to fry, here
Don’t make too big a deal out of it

Gee, you look so much bigger in person.
