Indus River Dolphins are listed as, endangered
and are only found in the lower parts of Indus River, Pakistan
They are believed to have originated, in the ancient Tethys Sea
when it dried up, about 50 million years ago, an antient discovery
They are one of four, river dolphin species and sub-species
and they spend all their lives, in fresh water rivers
They use echolocation to navigate, hunt and communicate
as they’re functionally blind, and adapted to muddy waters
Numbers have declined, because of human encroachment
destroying their habitat, with all this human development
building dams and barrages, that degrades their migration
and other threats are, bycatch, poaching and pollution
Laying here pondering,
wondering how the sound
Of droplets hitting against
My slanted roof put my mind
At such ease. Craving for something
To compliment the pitter-patter
Of the tiny impacts of water.
No one now pays attention
To the smell of precipitation
The wonderful presence of
Tears brought to life by a
Light fluff in the sky
In comparison to the rich never-
Ending atmosphere
How could a long sheet of double
Sided comfort provide a sense
Of love in a cold room,
It provides almost as much
Consolation that
fresh water tears do.
Praying for a jolting
Strike of light and reverberation
Throughout my living system
In order to fulfill all of the
Left over exhilaration from
The night I had spent
Taking in the elation from
The rain.
One
Island
In the sun
Unusual
It has no sandy beach or umbrella
Yet it harbors sweet life for I can see
Lush verdant growth
A hillock
Innate
Bield
The river brings hope
It washes away.
It's banks are the place
Where the quiet people stay.
It's life is eternal.
It twists, winds and shifts.
In torrents it falls.
In vapour it lifts.
As I sit and I listen..
A new song I hear.
Watch surface light glisten
Feel anxieties clear.
I bathe and I swim
And I laugh and I breathe
I commune with creation.
Tuning in;
To receive.
In the chill I'm reminded
Of life's warm embrace.
Of the gift we've been given.
Of our time in this place.
So, drink deep from the river.
Allow it to cleanse you,
Refresh and restore;
Make you whole
As it's meant to.
Ancient trees by the water
Nod and agree
There is no better time
For you and
for me.
And the truth of a life
Ever rested and pure
Is that someday your house
Will be built on that shore.
I sometimes think about all the wonders of the world
These thoughts leave us here alone together, curled
Does the sea spit sapphire blue?
Oh how I can't wait to find that to be true.
Either fourteen or twenty-one days
A map is a liar in some ways.
Waiting for the confusion to be over
and to be done feeling like a rover.
cool green teeming pond
whose still waters support life...
many turtles thrive
Our vision must be accurate
We must see it for what it is
Social illness is not the cause
In truth it is the symptom
If this is accurate then it follows
No illness may be cured by passing a law
Would we pass a law against cancer?
Only by addressing the cause shall we cure
When you deny the foundation
And bolster the roof
The structure shall fall
History is proof
Ask a builder he’ll tell the truth
It is always the feet
Which give society balance?
Sadness, sadness they refuse to listen
And when told they refuse to listen
They refuse to listen
America the land of the free
Twenty percent in poverty
The answer to this in history
Oh _oh
Hold on it going to be a rough ride
Fresh water is a rare resource in this great orb of blue
but needed for survival by the folk like me and you
We use it in some foolish ways as though we never see
that it can end by over use which leaves us water free
We use it to flush all our wastes and cultivate our crop
we wash our autos, fight our fires, and watch the levels drop
we fight each other for enough to do just what we need
not caring if there's nothing left for others, due to greed
We don't collect the water when it falls out of the sky
we need to catch it for the days when everything is dry
we should store up the water which would run into the sea
with little treatment it is good to use for brewing tea
We bathe in water from the tap that we could even drink
we give it to our household plants and never even think
that they could use some water not quite good enough for us
and water that's not potable is better for a flush
A small change in our piping may be all we really need
to get a less fresh water there for watering our seed
eventually we'll thank the Company who sets it up
because we'll have fresh water still for filling up our cup
On my line fighting
On the chopping block gasping
In the pan frying
