Premium MemberTrue to Yourself

Be true to yourself
In joy and sorrow
For only you know
What you feel
Even if not why
So stand tall, head high
And remember to breathe
Free and easy
No matter what others
May think or say
Friend or foe
For they never know
What is both
In your heart and head
As the wind blows
Sun shines
Clouds form
And rain falls
Don’t forget who you are
And that it all depends
On a single breath…

My Thoughts On Freebies
Miracle Man
4/12/2022

Many have used some Government safety net as a way of life,
causing some to cultivate the attitude, better you pay, than me.
For self respect, exhaust all internal means of self support,
before reaching out to another seeking something free.

It isn’t always our lack of, that has caused our dilemma,
but in our choice of priorities that brings us harm.
The easy road shouldn’t be a life, from the sweat of others,
and the helping hand we seek, should be attached to our arm.

Many need help,
but too many take it because its free and easy,
taking pride in knowing how to work the system.

Life's Shadow

Life's shadow
leaved for centuries
 before Christ and Anno Domini.
maneuvering again and again
and its delighted in that.
That it's irreversible.

Life's shadow
moving on waters
on mountains
on fire
and in valleys.
free and easy
making sure every micro
second is felt.

Life's shadow
moving confidently,
in light,
where everyone Sees it
moving quietly
in dark,
where no one sees it.
And it's still maneuvering
for centuries where we might
Be no more.

Premium MemberLady of Leisure

Lady of Leisure.

Inside and out…
She’s complete and whole,
She’s a contented lady of leisure,
Unafraid, relaxed
As she bares her soul.
She knows her treasure
In a cocktail party or alone,
It’s the same:
In the theatre or at home,
She’s no need to compare or measure,
For she knows her name.
Free and easy,
Yet raw and untamed,
Without any pressure,
Soft but clear, she takes her time…
And her pleasure.

Premium MemberIts a Means To An End

Fall in Fall out of favor
Fall in Fall out never waiver
Fall in Fall out of history
It ain’t no God damn mystery
Why the self doubt
Makes you want to scream and shout

Fall in Fall out of misery
Standin and Waitin for a delivery that never comes
Never hesitate but I might
Obliterate
Self destruct Holdin onto that rabbits foot
For good luck

It’s just a means to an end
Tying me up
Weighing me down
Same old records playin all over town
Refusing to bend on a road that never ends
Waiting for some free and easy breeze
To carry me
As self destruction
wages it’s war on me

Premium MemberThe Madness of the Mystical Moonlit Moment

In the madness of the mystical moonlit moment
swirling visions escape from the haunting stillness of nothing.
Allowing a thoughtful turn and the house of mind to drape.
With free and easy care could one as grand as God then dare
be rightful in pose and right to suppose
that two halves make the whole in which we drown.
Oh don’t whisper the cause of all regret
like some shorn remnant of lost nightgown.
All is all and known is known;
we children grow, but are never grown.
This path bothers not a walk or run;
today the father, yesterday the son.
The past is someone’s future,
The future someone’s past
And here time lives at last.
So give to each a blessing or a stone
for all is all and all is never won
when The Madness Of The Mystical Moonlit Moment
is Done.

Premium MemberPoisoning Our Mind From a Glass

We live our lives so free and easy
not thinking for a moment all we hear
stop for a moment think what you've heard
even in past 24 hours so much so near

Our minds taking into our thoughts
so much dirt and damaging stuff
we need a cleansing filter there
to make a stop, say that's enough!

Why do we drink this poison easily?
can't it be seen in the glass?
surely it's clear, your eyes to see
we really listen to too much gas

Why don't we turn it off at source?
take no chances again anymore
the effects makes us feel sick
just get up out the exit door

Poisoning our mind from a glass
never should it touch our lips
knowledge increased to cut it off
be clean be spotless on your trips

("We drink the poison our minds pour for us and wonder why we feel so sick.")

Premium MemberA Life Well Spent

A day long ago
Life was free and easy
Life was a whimsical carefree bliss
To breathe gentle and uninhibiting breezes
To feel emotionless
When painless laughter was to be had
When simplicity came easily
I was a child.

Together we saw orchards of sweetly ripen grapes
And orange suns sinking into the oceans blue green wake
Though old and grey
We both may be
The years are just a notch in time
Of the whole world this may be true
But please my friend
As I pass on
Do justice to the life I once led
Keep alive in your heart
The memories of a life well spent.

The Hiding Place

I remember those lazy days of summer
when we rode away on horseback
down dusty, deserted country roads;
took our shoes and socks off;
neared the trail to the river;
walked so free and easy;
gouging out that red Alabama loam
with our toes.

When we got to our fishing hole,
you took worms and baited my hook;
then, served me your specialty,
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
We ate while I listened to the whippoorwills
imitating other birds miles down stream;
echoing back their strange, haunting melodies.
I fell asleep there, still holding on to my fishing pole.

You never listened to those country sounds.
I now wish they'd return,
those free and easy days of summer
when the wind blew all our problems away
like crumpled up pieces of paper
and saved them for us
another year in its hiding place
stashed behind the thicket.

Killin' Time

Killin’ Time

Killin’ time...
Wasting time...
Whileing the
time away

postponing all til later
Best not to act in haste
see ya’ later alligator
I’ve all the time
In the world to waste

Til one day…’later’ arrived
contrite and with hat in it’s hand`
My cavalier attitude ceased to survive
Time had made me
a much different man

Grey hair...
White whiskers…
Deep creases
“Sweet Jesus!”
An old man I’d come to be

I’d always measured time
So free and easy
Spending much of my time
On poorly parsed rhyme
Til’ one day I could quite clearly see
With heartfelt surprise
“Oh no!...It’s time that is taking
...The measure of me!”...

Seaside Nostalgia

As I wandered free and easy,
all along The sandy shore,
Dipping toes into the sea edge,
listening to The tidal roar.

Surrounded by the sounds of summer,
heated by The sun,
Noisy,strutting seagulls eating,
Laughing children having fun.

I came upon a punch and Judy,
loud and raucous, puppet show,
Fond memories of a childhood stirred,
is it that long ago?

Oh! no it isn't Punch, said Judy,
Oh! Yes it is the kid's replied,
It's right behind you they insisted,
hurry! hurry!go and hide.

Donkey rides, passed by,
and as I reached the pier,
I thought, I'll have an ice cream,
or perhaps a pint of beer.

for tea some fish and chips,
before it gets too Late,
A day out at the seaside,
is nostalgia on a plate.

Sixty Plus Verses Teenager

Can remember when being a teenager
so free and easy could see no danger,
but things you do seems a lot stranger
mobile phones, computers, life's arrangers,

must have been boring without technology
no google to find information like psychology ,
Without knowledge you don't have theology,
unable to understand everyday terminology,

we had books, libraries, calculators, brains,
no games consoles or any other brain drains
exploring nature without technological chains,
with social media, no community remains,

we can communicate with each other quicker
face book, whatsApp, email and twitter,
with iPads, desk tops, no need for baby sitter,
life's better now so don't be so bitter,

being sixty plus I'm still learning new skills
enjoying life supported with prescription pills,

being a teenager our world is full of thrills
easy access to all that's bad like illegal pills.
