fragmentation
the seeming separation
of it all
and descriptions
reinforcing separation
make appearances
of unquestionable
persuasion seemingly
until there arises
a resonant assertion
of the nothingness
of it all

Chagall’s surveillance

Magicicada 13 - Mind and Body
Poet’s Note - A tree fell on my house thus the inspiration for this poem.
Marc Chagall - artist would paint ghostly figures flying in sky and his fiddler on the roof was the inspiration for the movie namesake.

I am tied to the whipping post
and whipped because I am standing still
because of a conglomeration of thoughts
that require a hint of understanding and will
You close your mind and make your demands
I feel a stripe
I know there is some one who will accept me
but I feel the time is not right
I have absorbed as much as I can hold
now I am dripping with hurtful fragments left in the water
To speak my mind is foul, uncanny, disappointing in view to so many and
misunderstood so why bother?
To err is human and forgive divine
but I am crushed by the breath that curses me and adjusting the moral line
I feel my spirit slip away from grace and human sin appear
I want to go back a step but the sand has covered the tracks,
the path has disappeared
Where do I go and what do I do?
Move forward, look up, seize the moment and push through

Apartment dwelling strangers
who never stop to talk,
don’t know the people living
a few doors down the block.
They nod hello while driving by
but never know my name,
somehow I get the feeling
it’s all a terrible shame.
Our insular existence
strikes me as really weird,
as if the nearby neighbor
is someone to be feared.
Co=dependent for nothing
without a single bond,
don’t know if he is fair or dark
a redhead or a blonde.
He has a noisy dog though
a mutt that barks all night,
I thought about complaining
but didn’t want to fight.
Who is this man I live near
this stranger with a dog.
can he be a big wheel
or just a minor cog?
Is he also curious
does he wonder about me,
or is he just concerned with
what is playing on TV?

Contortions beloved china doll ballets; fallacies repertoire?!
Sublime, embarking upon another vigilant mnemonic journey
As ever searching these sinuous theatres jigzaw corridores to well find
A maxims inverted souvenir....
Effusions waterfall of wisdom to contest this mortuaries enigma!?
Discernful images incised within black marble stones strewn amid
The roguery of this grayish night; rustic, crossing the cold damp earth
With its wilted flowers unto the mausoleums preemptive seminal door....
Twilights prophet speaking now in summations scarlet rhymes?!
To wrest the breath from abymals reaching grasp that it may surely die; dissolve
Into a thousand broken pieces to be crushed aneath, vice versas impasse ~
