Premium MemberThe Luggage Light Brings

Light arrives from its flight
wheeling behind its suitcase of shadows,
exposures, echoes and consequences.

It spills its hoard across the floor,
and gathers remnant dark
remains from dim corners.
It daubs and stitches
black silhouette capes and patches
behind all it passes.
These shadowy figures are light's wind vanes
tracing where its being seen.

Light reveals the cracks, dents, dust and flaws
hidden by unrealized expectations.
It dusts the scene for fingerprints
and other forensic traces
bringing all the hidden
unseemly before and afters
into stark relief.

Nothing escapes light's black valise
carry-on bag.

Premium Memberconflict in the courtroom

prosecutor is pushing for a guilty verdict.
defense lawyer argues there is no crime, for there is no body.
forensic expert says she must have been killed, due to the amount of blood.
her parents are conflicted.
they want her to be alive.
they do not want her murdered.
they do not want to blame their son-in-law
he has been like a son for twenty-two years.
and he has custody of their five grandchildren.
they feign their support.
keeping their accusatory feelings under wraps.
holding their breath in the courtroom.
waiting to see where this show is taking them

A STUDY IN VIOLET

A STUDY IN VIOLET

This treasure house of objets d’art
Littered with plots and storylines
A room encrusted with jewels of history
Inviolate – and undisturbed.

Over there, a military tunic
Blue – and in such fine condition.
Pale lapels perhaps too remote or innocent
Of its vile ‘let them have it’ past.

Here, an abandoned symphony
Black notes pebbledash the page.
Written for that ancient violin, no…
Viol. Late Belle Epoch I think.

That leather book I recognise
An ancient asset register.
And with such work of reference
Identify - a little more.

A philtre or monk’s cure perhaps.
Or poison, used to sway an empire.
Something forensic science may analyse
This phial – let it keep its secret.

Here, a scroll. Homeric tragedy?
Greek, according to the words.
Those old strange symbols, faded now
A ‘Phi’ or letter ‘P’ – I’m sure.

I cannot touch nor be considered
A robber, loose in a dusty tomb.
Caught in the torchlight, gold in hand
Say ‘Fie!’ – or let him go.

This treasure is too much for anyone
To really own. To hide away.
Bequeathed to me but never really mine.
Something Auntie Violet always knew.

Premium MemberGuess Who

One evening, a male mortician died inside the funeral parlor that he owns. The parlor has been operating for ten years inside a big business center. Prior to the incident, seven friends of the mortician working within the same business center visited him in seven different days. The suspects are the following: a martial artist, a barber, a chef, a dentist, an engineer, a freelancer and a gangster.

No physical evidence of homicide was found when the mortician died inside the said funeral parlor. However, the family members filed a case against all suspects who relied solely on statements submitted by witnesses in the last ten days before the mortician died.

The initial report of the forensic experts stated that the mortician died of natural cause.

Who do you think is the culprit?...

Pretense

Forensic evidence is no pretense against the defense/
It will prove prevalence in the family’s ordinance/
Moronic elements that ail his laments are just sordid and dense/
More on it as the envelopment to derail inherent ends he upends/
Four chronic tipple alcoholics sail away an heir apparent out of pretense/
Tour scenic and hop the fence frail to tear a new pair of parents for greed sense/
Sore we’ve beaten it in old hallways as we dance trails to romance and breed new brands/
Bore logic that grants pathways with complete relevance and developments of freelance/
All remnants of other incidents one of which would enhance such reverence/
With immense radiance compliance and patience will lead to confidence/
Competence is of the utmost importance in these pants with no ignorance/
Encourage tolerance in the newest plans to advance these new contents

Premium MemberArson Noir

An affectatious arsonist announced,
“Big buildings’ burning brilliance brightens best!”
casually cites conflagration counts,
darkly deals destruction, designer-dressed.

Extinguishing each edifice enflamed,
first-rate forensic findings frequent failed.
Grievous, grim goings, ‘geniously gamed;
Hurried happenings, hastily high-tailed.

Incendiary incidents ignite
jewel-filled junkets, jazzed jalopy jaunts.
Kindling’s kittling kiss: knave’s known kryptonite,
Lapping, leaping licks, luscious, lit lavants.

Madness! Marauding mercilessly more,
Nefarious, nursing next novel noir.

Mentally Perturbed

Children shot down in a school again
It’s the collateral cost of freedom I’m told,
by a labeled unstable son-of-a-gun kin

He had “wild horses roaming free” in his head,
that’s what the county doctors said
As the grief-stricken soul of a community bled

His eighteenth birthday gift was a death wish:
Killing innocent kids was at the top of the list
An unpredictable behavior everybody missed

The government officials declare,
the young man was “emotionally disturbed”
But bullets don’t grey matter care

Forensic fingers paint the crime scene “evil red,”
as automatic revulsion smears their semi-stoic conscience
Cold bloody memories, they just can’t ever shed

And the true metal believers idol-ly say,
the unhinged shooter was “mentally perturbed”
Seems bullets get asylum alter ricochet

Premium MemberLemon Tree Glee

Luxurious little lemon tree
in the freshest garden next to a pea
was heartily happy and wildly free
She could be herself, and forever see
Chickadee’s nest and a drilling bee.

There was a haunting melody
Somewhere nearby a dog had dropped a D.
A forensic fellow’s forward-thinking fee
giggled a glorious glitzy genuine glee.
Shadows sheltered a shellfish-like she.

A kindly kingly kangaroo’s key
Languished and lollygagged near little Lee.
Where was the magnificent, marvelous me?
Hopping around on a nefariously naughty knee
Placating a pleasurable plebian plea.

Sprinkling a sprightly sparkling sparrow’s spree,
There was a terribly terrific turnabout toward lemon tea.
Wisely wandering within a wonderful whacky wee
Generously gyrating in genuine gallantry
Ending in a zesty zealous zealot-like Zee.

Devil Is Defeated - How

I
More than 2,000 years ago Satan, aka Diabolos, Lucifer, Lord of flies, and Devil, is defeated - for every believer in God, our Creator-Father-Savior. Hallelujah

II
How is Satan defeated when he unleashes foul, slave spirits in the world almost each new hour? When He was crucified, Jesus died, but in three days He resurrected. This means Jesus beat death. In this way, the inventor of death, Satan, was defeated. But he seems to exercise power yet? Explain that ...

III
Yes, defeated and sentenced to the bottomless pit of hell, Satan is. But the sentencing is a forensic, legal proceeding, yet to be followed by execution of the sentence concluded at Calvary (Jesus' victory on a Cross of unimaginable shame, pain, and humiliation).

Answers Without Prejudice - Crime, Forgiveness, Grace

I
Readers deserve regard respecting questions
Recent query, Would Jesus just forgive?
The answer in the Bible is, it depends ...
Before Jesus, a Redeemer- Savior longed for
John the Baptizer preached repentance
To sinners he labeled, ' Brood of vipers,' John 3:8

II
"Produce fruit in keeping with repentance,"
Said the one who would also baptize Jesus
Jesus warned us, "I will tell you, I knew you not"
To many who at Judgment will call, Lord Lord
See also Luke 13, about Kingdoms Gate
Narrow indeed! Many will fail to enter, he said

III
Forgiveness is always there, but never cheap
For my sins, Someone paid in blood and body
We remember this with Mass, Eucharist!
Forensic justification of crimes, criminals, sinners
He gladly gives: but metanoia means We Change

Premium MemberTelltale Tattle

Scats scattered in field
tell who or what's been there.

Footprints lined up
like string of daisy chain
stick figures in rogues gallery
outside the window,
tell who's been where, and when.

Outside the grass is indented, sticks snapped
leaves out of place, leaf litter rustled,
Inside the room wreaks of disturbance
tells me someone has entered,
someone has been in there.

Odours lingering and lolling a
bout in still dank room air
tell whose been doing what, in there.

There are no secrets
hidden from telltale tattles,
forensic.

Sexual Harassment

Another blazing steel
That carve wounds which don’t fully heal
Besides those of Big Brother Rape
Whose injurious clutch very few escape.

A pointing finger by forensic evidence maintained
About your grips of her blouse stained
And infuriating caresses of a waist
You were scheming to morally waste;
Playable, her taped shut-doors against your visits
And “Buzz offs” to your offered Hellos and biscuits…
Indeed, your tactless remarks of obscenity
Verging on intrigues against her chastity
In court, to you read out by a voice of steel
To your disbelieving ears all but real;
All the brooding minds around you also wrestling with the matter
While you hope or wish their suspicion won’t get fatter!

It’s a new impulse to often adjust one’s lens
And with expectoration break a silence,
Not skipped, prompt remembrances of your itching jaw
To scratch it in a manner you could never the Law.
