A girl from the Folies Bergere
Manoeuvred her feathers with care.
One night, to a gasp,
They slipped from her grasp
And there she stood totally bare

Regretting a dream
…Folies Bergere
Exhaling the magic
Marseille in despair
Seeking forgiveness
Vive Champs elysees
Mimes feigning answers
Montmartre chardonnay

Christmas in Paris with gentle snow falling
Listening to the bells of Notre Dame calling
The faithful from their frantic shopping spree,
A sleigh ride through the Tuileries, you and me
In the shadow of the Louvre bringing art alive
Stopping for a drink or two in a café at five.
Then, to the Opera House for an evening show
Ah, in the City of Lights, so many places to go
At Christmas, we see the Eiffel Tower in lights,
And I must mention, Folies Bergère, ah, sights
We must not miss, under the mistletoe, a kiss
Paris at Christmas … the true meaning of bliss.

Hello smiley pen!
You see this platform
My mind moves like air
Blinking at every event and center
Checking loopholes or would be space
What do you make of the comparison!
Quotes speak a truth widely accepted
Give advice to folies
Make the wise stand tall
Changing fools if they could rethink
Yes quotes speak
Poems on its own is complex
Looking out for rhymes, forms and beauty
Even the worst fool is a king here
Bringing your mind to it's center
Smiling and frowning as it agrees
Just his mind he seems to lay
With your explanation at your cost
Even surmounting your pride to think
Raising from blank verse to free verse
Sonnets and it's numerous relatives
Yes you see different words
But the link
Why!
They are all words
It's usage makes the difference
Taste the variety(s)
Poems or Quotes
You do not have to compare
They are all beauty in words

At the famous Folies Bergère
all the dancing girls fell sick
No one to entertain the tourists
who wouldn’t get to see high kicks
The manager of the venue
thought so long and very hard
He unchained the dancing bears
that lived in the tiny back yard
They went through their routine
since they’d not performed in years
They were absolutely step perfect
the manager was moved to tears
The polar bear and brown bears
became a massive hit on stage
All the dancing girls got sacked
dancing bears were all the rage!
But the animal rights campaigners
set up petitions on a Facebook group
It was deemed that the act was cruel
and disbanded the dancing bear troop
The high kicking girls were re employed
See them can can the whole night through
The dancing bears are now retired
They’ll end their days in the local zoo
Bring on the dancing bears contest

Who's words whisper
that mornings might find us together
simple things to create a realness
who invented love
to sell it's worth beyond need
to see pass the newing beyond the
expectation
to be in the greatest of beleiving
and unchanged if questioned
might the folies of those divisive folk
never undermine our togetherness
that we shall be as one together
in love

PEOPLE I WILL NEVER BE
A pregnant woman - cos I’m a man
President of Nigeria - only a Nigerian can
A tall blonde model - cos short and dark with deep tan
Dancer at Folies Bergere - cos I can’t can-can
A sex symbol - on my picture would be an aesthetic ban
Some health nut…....I never eat my breakfast bran
Singing star…....with my voice, my wife’s my only fan
