Flabbergast Poems | Examples

Premium MemberFlying Off Course

On a plane flying to Vancouver,
An odd lady said that I knew her,
I was just flabbergast,
After years now at last,
My wife of forty is much cruder.

Premium MemberEmma Emu

Emma Emu is a large bird.
She’s taller than I am – absurd!
Her voice is really well-endowed,
and she can drum a song out loud.
She is my friend and I am proud!

With three-toed feet, she is so fast
She runs right by in a bold blast.
Her ardent admirers amassed,
I watch her run in flabbergast!
She will be on tonight’s sportscast!

Her legs so long, they are bizarre.
For those who run, she raised the bar.
She could outrun a blue race car!
If she were human and ran so far,
she’d be a champion track star!

Premium MemberTrying To Update Alice

A revised version of Alice was up for grabs in the clutches of my mind.
With a wizened worldly white rabbit, drinking mushroom tea of a new kind.
I began plotting and scheming a plot that would flabbergast, awe and bind.
The others editors had no imagination, so I finally said “Oh, never mind!”

Bet You Don'T Like To Read Poems

Nicely penned poems are very rare to be adored.
The brilliant wisdom expressed through words is always being ignored.
People care less about sharing what poets want to convey.
They care more about the issues of others; have much more things to say.

A rhyme royal poem is nothing compared to a Facebook meme.
A disdained Dizain is more silent than a Twitter’s scream.
And so my folks will give you thumbs up for a cleavage post.
They get more a thousand hearts than a magnificently written prose.

If poetry can only flabbergast the world once again and trend,
Its words can be passed through ages and transcend.
For what is worth to listen and read is a literary masterpiece.
Not to mention my neighbor who shares rumors online; I never get peace.

If all that is going on in the media can be transposed to poetry,
It would make books of elegies and dramatic monologues in my country.
But I can sense the people’s loss of interest; many poems are ignored.
Nicely penned poems are very rare to be adored.

Note: I always feel that my friends on social media have no care at all about poems that I posted. I don't know but I just find things really very weird.

abrasive noises streaming noisily

I hear and pray for their worried mothers

Premium MemberSeeing Uncle Josh

Uncle Josh was everlasting, ethereal, but to me real
For I was six when he passed, this is a memoir in his honor.
The first time I saw him after his funeral, I had a high fever.
I awoke from a fitful slumber noting a blue light from my closet.
Of course, being six, I thought how clever of the space aliens!
It was an electric blue light, neon-like. It did not flabbergast me though.
Magnitude of what I was seeing when I opened the door was lost on me.
Seeing Josh there may have struck others as odd, since he was dead.
I remember that he told me I could not touch him. That was okay.
I was not a touchy-feely kid all the time. We had a long talk.
He had some intense messages that I gave to his wife. I remember that.
However, I have no idea what they were.
The second I delivered them to her, they flew out of my memory.
He told me that he would be back sometime when I am older.
I am older now, and very much looking forward to his return.

Divisive, just like in the sad past
Ethnicity, yet again is his mast
Mouth sweetening for more votes to cast
Assuring in words to flabbergast
Glories used, which ended in a blast
Only to capture their poor hearts fast
God, always mentioned from first to last
Underneath his mind, money is vast
End please, the mandate for this outcast

Ode To Reality: 3,573

i cant deny
i seek to fool the interlock
jockey quick to interact
the vista stitched to chili socks
so quick to miss who really rocks
a kid can list the million pox
that riddle the most civil thoughts
freedom needs some nourishment
the evil deeds with servants sent
jealousy a thirsty quench
the melody a ghastly wrench
two pennies hardly make a dent
flabbergast, tricks in contempt
the ladder casted main event
for many cases cause to vent
ideally equal no small percent
super man or mr. kent?
peter pan on the internet
 workin on my seventh sense
send me all your sentiments
assets that are moral dense
floral holding sponsorship
counting all the counterfeit
monetary partially
cationically the catalyst to counter it
shocking im seeing toxic
the images not the objects
the sequence of events
perpetuating these prospects
im guesstimating weve lost it
ego the evil holding
 our courage hostage
the future much closer to hospice

If I Can Not Astonish You With All My Wisdoms

If I can not astonish you with all my wisdoms;
I can always flabbergast and,
In absolute certainty, astound you
With such collection of stupidities,
Said in such wondrous zest
And absolutely no spark of talent,
That God above, first - cringe
And then – erupt in laughter.

Shattered Trust

The times we decide to put credence in others,
Comes the time when said credence is made null.
Null and void.
The mind becomes devoid
Devoid of trust. Why?
Devoid of faith. Why?
The flabbergast that accompanies the 'shattering,'
Sometimes; no extrapolation.
No deduction.

Shattered trust.

Spring, Flabbergast Me With Your Scented Flowers

Spring, flabbergast me with your scented flowers:
show me the gracious lilies and flaboyant tulips
as they spent their time brightening lovers's eyes;
yes, open up your garden where the red sun dips,
and the voluptuous lovers hug and passionately kiss...
rising in me a desire that takes me back to youthful days!

Down the rusty path, flanked by pines and fir trees,
the blue-jay parched on the lowest branch, is quite and waits;
at exactly twelve o' clock he starts warbling as a siren wails...
we have become friends, and he inspires me to write melodies,
but without a pencil and music sheet I must retain those notes into this active brain,
until I get home and write them down while he shelters himself from he misty rain.

Spring, flabbergast me with your scented flowers:
show me the stately sunflowers and the wild roses
growing taller than any plant seen in the wind-swept wilderness
as the mariachis play their song to console a marchioness sitting in a breezy corner;
these aren't musicians found in a parade, they are peasants with colorful costumes...
soon someone will say," Alla manana, Segnora. " as the calm returns on the shore.

Silver and Gold

wet hair surrounds my face
as I stare into this virtual space...
of Kinshala in all her blue
wearing a catsuit (with ears too)
and within peerings
I hold heart hearings,
  that whisper longings - You...
(there's nothing else I can do...)

Albeit days bygone, in languid sky
passing by, I often stop mid - blink, and spy
at misty dreams that climb new heights
while sipping time, unwritten - my
unobtrusive wrinkled sky...sublime

that we should even attempt
    this try
at visions rich -

       But why?

...to reconvene such a super
                              Scene
...to flabbergast, and Behold !!

To summon from the Crypt of Olde,

a wealth beyond silver,
                              and of Gold...
