Living under the influence
of a lifestyle so exotic,
wrapped up in appearance.
An unrequited luxury,
I am the fire not the smoke show.
Inspired on a budget.
The purity of an orchid,
that magic lies in hard to grow.
You have the only one.
Such a lovely fragrant flower,
Italy’s perfect cannoli,
rich enough for my blood.
No cash but I’ve got a passport,
a little transport everywhere.
Genes define conundrum.
Too broke to get on an airplane,
too driven to be satisfied.
I’m blue collar first class.

As I awoke, eyes still laden,
dreaming of a pretty maiden.
Laying quietly, still in my bed.
It was real not just in my head.
As the light streaked through the window,
heart beating like a crescendo.
I felt the joy of love at last,
in this love, I’ll willingly bask.
The sharing, caring, and daring.
The glancing and trance like starring.
The thought came to me, will it last?
Nothing to compare in my past.
I’m at my best when with this lass,
this kind of love must be first class.

I hear the train in the distance
I still have some time
though it is getting shorter
Bought my ticket cost me a lot
The train whistle calls my name
It hasn't arrived when the conductor will
call all aboard and my ticket will be punched
I paid first class
I need to get some errands done
Good byes forgiveness and tears
a final hug it has been a long war
Battles filled with tears fears and laughter
The train whistle called my name
Now at the train station waiting
for the conductor to punch my ticket
for the train to take me home

To become an equestrian first-class
Jerry had to learn to ride on the grass
He took off the saddle
The equus skedaddled
Poor Jerry! He thought 'bareback' meant bare-hass

Mom got a First class ticket to Heaven, that's for sure.
Everybody who knew my mom, absolutely adored her.
She always helped others or she would bust her butt trying.
It was so sad when her doctor said that she was dying.
Now she's in Heaven and she has eternal happiness.
Having her for my mother truly made me blessed.
She decided to return to her hometown of Sneedville in 2011.
When she passed away, she got a First class ticket to Heaven.
[Dedicated to Agnes Johnson (1948-2013) who passed away on March 6, 2013.]

In my mind
I can create an image of anything
Anyplace that's probably
Floating somewhere in this universe.
I just can't see
What it must be like
To go to heaven.
