The changing of summer flora guards
Crying April showers, tears usher in
The softening of wintered earth, once hard
Now loosened up as the Earth sheds its skin
The floral fists of flowers do begin
to jab and cross through intractable mud
collective conviction of vernal kin
inundates the Southern meadows, a flood
A triumph to see, the seasonal bud
First flowering in May, the bees delight
Filling their honeycombs with golden blood
Their busy bodies’ mysterious flight
From the palette of God, landscape painted
by fighting flowers, jabbed, crossed and feinted

There once was a city called Zor
it was home to many a bore
the women fainted
and the men feinted
that was what Zor was famous for

finally we come to rest
with the pains of yesterday
bent on life's rapid pass
where rivers have come to mend
awash we have persevered
across the jagged
succumbing
to arms of maturity
here we lie in remembrance
of duty
of past deeds
a repetition
measured again and again
submerged in sinless salutations
flushed with fear
the backdrop
of a feinted sky
searching a soul filled eye
black diamond glows
strapped
with the vigors of tomorrow
we shall forever know

Picture of Jesus Painted
Great picture of Jesus I just painted,
And when I did they had me sainted;
God did thank;
Not a prank;
I was astounded and nearly feinted.

They smiled, shook hands and took their spots,
Preparing for a fight
And each made verbal jabs which filled
Supporters with delight.
They ducked and feinted, spewing words
To bring the other down,
Believing that by doing so,
They’d earn themselves the crown.
The moderator did his best
To keep them both on track
But it was hard because restraint
At least one side did lack.
The answer to “Who won?” depends
On whom you would promote.
We’ll learn the truth in several weeks
When we get out to vote.

The black smooth rough hide of midnight dark
Rivulets of dusty sweat leaping off
As he ran and dodged and feinted and attacked
The man, day-glo matador, flashing eyes and sword.
The baying crowd dry-throating the challenge and the curse
The black leaping forward to the cloak-cape-wall
Swelling eyes, and angry mind, a spear a jockey
Deep in his side, bouncing and jolting, searing stab.
The folds of the cape enfold his head and horns
His blindness concentrates the pain of the blade’s harpooning
His tempter bullet spins, back facing his final havoc wrought
Ivory hook of gristle, piercing the skin, kissing the heart, extinguishing the lights.

Pond Across The Road
How brazen the turtle called painted!
His friends watched in horror! then feinted!
Zag that way! Zig here!
Missed the truck that hauls beer!
A miracle! they called him! then sainted!

How does it feel,
inside your small darkened cage?
Living each day, breathing in
your pathetic lies of rage.
Will you play this game
that has no winner in the end?
Leaving you,
simply put,
where it all had began.
Why be afraid of what you cannot control?
Let the layers, your desires start to unfold.
Take my hand, I shall show you the way.
And teacher I may never be,
but I can remind you, what your heart
your mind,
simply wont allow you to see.
Just trust the soft touch my fingers place,
and soon you too can have the world's embrace.
Longer must you linger in your pain,
soul so tarnished, blackened stained.
Fight the demons that keep you there,
till I can breathe in all that cares.
Your heart, a fragile lifeless smile
feinted, slowly dying,
reaching for the nearest worth while.
Let the world wash past your marble sins
remainders of your soul, whats left within.
