Premium Member Fancy Zebra

Fancy zebra is led by a somber clown boy
He knows the presents had better arrive okay
There are spies in the woods; one throws out a decoy.
But the boy and his zebra remain on their way.

Where are the presents? Asks the sinister Roy.
He is not one who can easily joke, sing or play.
I do not know if this is a casual ask or a ploy.
So, I consult with my wise Uncle Jay.

I am not telling you what to do, I do not want to annoy
But I think that spy is trying to get you to stumble or sway
As I pass the guy who tries to act merry and say “ahoy!”
I merely reply, in my most strident voice “have a good day!”

The stranger asks, were you serious or were you being coy?
I pretend then I do not know English and reply with a bray.
Roy calls me names like stuck up widdle waddle and Fauntleroy
I do not care, and quickly leave his vicinity in a little sashay.

The Afghan Hound

The Afghan’s a dog groomer’s joy
The definitive Lord Fauntleroy
But with all that coiffure
One is never quite sure
If the “she” is a girl or a boy

Premium Member Pirate Cat and Pirate King

Pirate cat in stealth mode wiggles his joy.
Hunting prey like an eager cat boy.
Rats on the ship were singing ahoy.
Licking their paws in Hawaiian poi.

Three legged cat with his peg leg coy
Fast friends with Pirate King Fauntleroy
Together they chased parrot mascot as toy
Ruffling his feathers, quick to annoy.

The rest of the crew were battling Hanoi
Stealing their treasure of sweet Hawaiian poi.
Pirate cat and Fauntleroy did truly enjoy
Watching the fight from the deck of Ole Roy.

Memories of Jim

Little Lord Fauntleroy
  left to devise

His future uncertain
  a past once despised

Little Lord Fauntleroy
  his choice lies within

To do unto others
  or do unto him

Little Lord Fauntleroy,
  escape from these walls

The lords and new creatures
  —your legacy calls

Premium Member Close My Eyes and Dance Away

Give me all of my private time
I will succumb without a fight
And later be your every whim
First those few seconds of respite
Before once more I crawl through slime
Notice how once my gown was white
But cooked with silted tears and grime

Give me one minute of your day
To bend and chew on and enjoy
Before you take it all away
To you I am no more than a toy
Commodity for you to play
Inconvenience, little joy
Your Little Lord Fauntleroy

Give me a second and I crawl -
To sleep, forget about the day -
To the stone against the wall
Close my eyes and dance away
Jump so high and never fall
The uncrowned king of ballet
Applauded in the dance hall

My mind is free, my mind is mine
My words have meaning, see them shine
