Premium Member snotty fashion plate cat

Snotty cat was as stuck up as they are ever made
She wore sunglasses and drank tea in the shade
A fashionista, her pinky finger was up in the air
She was the best dressed cat in the country of Belair

We did not dare speak, she intimidated us so
Her clothing was designer, her shades had a glow
She is a fashion plate special, she has been on a runway walk
They renamed it cat after her, and there was nary a squawk

Premium Member A Fop a Fool a Popinjay

He was a fop, a fool, a popinjay
Man-about-town, too cute and gay
A fashion plate, a cavalier blade
His arrogance riveled an oak’s tree shade

In Bangladesh

I like your new outfit
You look really smart mate
One could almost say
You're a real fashion plate.
Wearing new clothes can give
You real bird pulling power.
Over in Bangladesh they pay
Just forty eight pence an hour.

That's where are a lot of
Our cheap clothes are made,
In a modern variation of
The sweated labour trade.
Its not just the Cheap Shops
In this exploitation game
Some of the Designer Firms
Are involved just the same.

Bangladesh is too far away
For us to really worry
And besides modern life
Moves at such a great hurry.
Wearing cheap clothes
Can feel so very nice
At times we should remember
Somebody pays theprice:

Sometimes in the shop we
Could maybe give a thought
To the true cost of the gear
We’ve just so casually bought
In the last freported factory fire
Over a hundred maimed or dead,
Just ordinary Bangladeshis
Trying to earn their daily bread.

Premium Member Senorita Fashionista

Senorita Fashionista,
has attained Fame.
She shaped a dress from a tent,
and changed fashion's stage.
Then off to Rio,
It's her home base.
Senorita Fashionista,
is ahead of the game.

Senorita was a Seamstress,
who always stayed late.
She designed her own line.
and calls it Chic Lace.
Her fabric's gone wild,
Her Style is the rave,
Senorita Fashionista.
Is The, Fashion Plate.

Senorita Fashionista,
is ahead of her Time.
Her shades are So Hot,
They're catching on fire.

Senorita Fashionista,
won't place her age.
It fills her with laughter,
Queen Of, Couture Fame.

Premium Member What Did She Wear

My neighbor was such a thrill, she loved to wear her red high heels up our hill.

She thought a top of pink polka dots, went with a skirt of green and orange fabric knots.

A passion fashion plate she thought she was, she never looked into a mirror to see any flaws.

We would laugh until we cried, every time she would walk by.

Premium Member Looking Down

While looking down my nose on someone,
I thought less than me,
I failed to see her kindness,
Her generosity.

While looking down on someone else,
A dirty, unwashed beggar,
I failed to notice how he shared,
And called his friends together.

I'm proud of my intelligence,
My intellectual prowess,
And I look down on lesser minds,
That I think cannot process,

The in's and out's, intricacies,
Of certain mental matters,
And need to have it simplified,
And laid out on a platter.

I'm proud of my good grooming.
I'm quite the fashion plate.
My coiff, my clothes, my etiquette,
Why I think I'm just great.

How they can seem so happy,
So down right gratified,
I can't understand at all,
I'm never satisfied.

The Compliment

My fashion sense, to be quite kind
Is sometimes difficult to find
But I do still hope for a compliment
From a well-dressed, handsome, discerning gent.

On my morning walk one summer day
I was feeling low I have to say
Broad-brimmed hat a little quaint
Fashion plate it certainly ain't

I passed a buff and muscled chap
In standard backward baseball cap
He looked at me and took me in,
Gave a big encouraging grin

Called out loud "I like your hat"
Just like that!
I broke out in a huge, huge smile
And cheerfully walked an extra mile.

Premium Member Fashion Plate In the Workplace

It's a celebration of life,
It's a celebration of self,
An inner spirit and style,
expressed thru blazes of color.
Daring to be an original,
in a gallery of the commonplace.

Tennis Whites

There was a time when tennis players
Had to dress in white.
Appearing on the court in colors
Wouldn’t have been right.

But rules have changed and now we see
A medley of attire.
In fact, to be a fashion plate
Some players do aspire.

Both men and women choose to wear
Ensembles bright and bold.
A few stroll out in outfits
Rather shocking to behold.

Though some may yearn for former times
When whites were de rigueur,
To me, the freedom from those rules
Improves the court’s décor.

Premium Member Magazine Lies

A sweeping staircase is her stage.
mahogany and marble.
Dressed to thrill, a fashion plate,
your heart she will ensnarl.

Each step she takes is calculated,
to keep your eyes upon her.
With waistline tight and neckline low,
accentuating the lure.

Her dress does slip, down behind her,
like a river, flowing red.
A sultry pout worn on her lips,
her eyes, promising her bed.

Perfection, there, before you now.
Yet, there stands an obstacle.
There's no chance, for she is just an
airbrushed, magazine model.

Nice Clothes

Nice Clothes

I was never a traditional “pretty girl”
I was not ultra-feminine
Though when younger
And thinner
I turned many a lady’s -
And gentleman’s - head

Clothes fit me quite nicely
I was not a fashion plate by any means
Still, I cut a good figure
As they used to say

Now I have a low paying job
Barely enough
To keep the proverbial
Wolf from my door

I cannot buy nice clothes
In fact, I seldom buy any clothes

The young, thin women
Are complimented
On their appearance

Oh for the days of youth
And thinness
And head turning
And when I had money
For nice clothes
