I am grateful for my ancestors….
all those who have sailed before me down life’s stream…
and I hope from where they’re watching…
I have exceeded their wildest dreams…
And I gladly take my place among them
as I sail down life’s stream…
as I watch my own children and grandchildren
exceed my wildest dreams.
As I’ve watched my children,
and my grandchildren grow up
I am grateful that I have been around
to enjoy all the steps they have been taking…
And I look forward to enjoying
the steps they take from here…
and all the steps our great-granddaughter will me making.
Today I’m grateful to be part of a family:
Mine consists of a great grandchild-to-be.,
grandchildren, children and a wife…
and grateful knowing as part of a family
I’ll be on the giving and receiving end of love…
every moment for the rest of my life
Since the day of their birth…and the time they learned to walk…
As I’ve watched my children and grandchildren grow each day
I’m grateful I’ve been able to enjoy
every step
they’ve taken along the way.
We
await
our coming
great miracle-
making number five-
nearing the end of March.
More happy days to soon share-
adding new cheers with those before;
four great-grandchildren, three girls- one boy.
Soon, our new great-grandson marks number five.
One day I pray to meet
My children's children, with my mother's blue eyed glee
Seeing me
My deepest wish
Blessed to see my progeny
Love rich
My child
Hope to see ye
Smile
One day I pray to meet
Blessed to see my progeny
Smile
life or death
Oh, my children and grandchildren
Today I want to live the moment,
Tomorrow might never come.
See the good and the bad, hold your hand
And see the precious magic
In every smile at the present moment,
It might never happen the same again.
I desire to gaze upon all those faces I love,
Present study every soft and crinkle feature etched.
See every step as you walk and see the world.
I want to look into those eyes,
Hug oh so tight as I can, and say I love you.
Understand where each and every one of you are right now.
I want to sit and have a meal, savor every bite,
Have a wonderful conversation that will last forever.
Watch the day fade into the night.
Enjoying today for today, as you know it’s here now
Because tomorrow might never come.
To Huskey we go, a cookout for dinner,
With six grandchildren, a definite winner.
The evening cool, the fire pit hot,
Some soup heating up in a cast-iron pot.
Seems life’s pretty sweet here in Lacey’s Spring;
Lottery? Nah, I’ve done won the whole thing.

rich luxury

princes
and princesses
all
you are
the best I
gave
or received
in this life
I am
truly blessed
in you
how precious
the hugs
of grandchildren
how warm
the care
and regard of
my children
how grand
and glorious
is life
because of
you
It was the end of the day; the game had been fun
For winners and losers, we were all family now.
Today's marriage of our favorite grandparents
Set today's mood, a strong bond of communion and love
Here are both sets of grandchildren, enjoying a free trip to Hawaii
Celebrating the happiest new couple who wed in their eighties.
We knew it would be great. We had told our parents this.
Some had listened. Others had been dubious.
Had they opened their hearts?
We were trying to find a good place to play one last game of ball
On the beach where people we love had wed this morning.
We are all family now, one for all and all for them.
The sundown is bringing us optimism and hope.
Mothers Day
As we gather to honor our mothers
grandchildren, sisters, and brothers
we share a last name
so it seems a shame
that none of us looks like the others

EASTER-
No little grandchildren, no grown sons or daughters, no family or friends.
We are in provincial lock down, thanks to Covid !
So this is the first Easter I have no excuse to "not have time" to put my
"Higher Power" first.
Covid, you think you really got us! Guess what you eveil thing?
You have just made it so that many of us, in particular me, seek my God.
Boy are you in for it!
I ask for forgiveness, for the safety of my family and friends, and for the strength to beat this Covid. I thank my Higher Power for keeping me safe during this stressful time.
Just as Jesus was risen from the cave so will he bring us out of this Covid.
Happy Easter, May your Higher Power be with you.
May you be able to see that the bunny left goodies for your little ones.
I remember sitting on my grand dad’s knee,
when he told me about the good old days.
How he courted my grandmother with glee,
He fell in love and spoiled her in many ways.
Told me how he asked her dad for her hand,
and her father gave them his blessing as well.
My granddad was the happiest fella in the land,
The story of their union made my heart swell.
Until this day, I tell my kids of my family's history,
So they can share our history with their children.
I don't want them to doubt or it be a mystery,
And my kid’s kids can tell their grandchildren.

Oh, empty swing, beneath our maple tree-
for many years now, withered and distressed;
as summer breezes make you sway, I see-
remember times when you were truly blessed.
For many years now, withered and distressed-
abandoned by two generations past;
remember times when you were truly blessed
by first our children- then, grandchildren last.
Abandoned by two generations past-
with many years unused between the two-
by first our children- then, grandchildren last-
recall them swinging when I look at you.
With many years unused between the two,
as summer breezes make you sway, I see-
recall them swinging when I look at you;
oh, empty swing, beneath our maple tree.
