[ Poet’s Note : This is the second of two poems personifying Truth ]
NATURE OF TRUTH : Part Two
Truth shot point blank through
the centre of her forehead
blood spurting, soiling fine furs of
humanoids at play with slick lies
and shallow Hansard words
trying to acupuncture Truth
Blood that stains and weeps and
weeps
blood that runs and will not hide
Truth collapsing in a heap in a corner
rise up again !
pulled firmly by the hair with wide
open fingers
Truth rise and rise and rise
dance with Courage
find amethysts in hard hearts of fear
cradle them to Moon for blessing
connect with fluffy clouds where little
girls see God
Truth ! be washed by midnight rain
plait yourself softly with invisible links
where choralists sing falsettos in
unbroken voices
Truth then waltzes with Love
women with baby curls taste
hot bread
Truth springs up again and again
She rises from oceans and
mountains forever and ever
Right here !

There are no bands in death
They are in various states
Lifeless in varied postures
Brought for different reasons
Some palsy and age took their toll
Others victims of premature machinations
Many fell from jealous causatives
A lot from envious enemies
Modest number in the line of duty
Protecting the sanctity of fatherland
Oh yes the occupant of this space:
He was the community’s tallest
His height wrestled and intimated iroko trees…
Now vanity
This lady…
I remember
Had a voice sweeter than a Nightingale
Her shrill high pitched soprano
Bordered on the corridors of falsettos
Cracked glasses unending
Vanity upon vanity
There are no bands in death
Bones litter a grave’s mouth
As cleaved and cut wood upon the earth
Philosophical quandary:
Point of no return
Cessation of cessations
‘Fallacy of misplaced concreteness’
An end to spectrum of living
To the living the dead never die:
They are always with us
In songs, stories and legacies
They may fly away never to be seen
Only on JUDGEMENT DAY
The rest is for us to live right
Walking the old paths wherein our Fathers walked
For there are no bands in death.
Fractured Storm
Ghostly gloom born in brooding stillness
Cut to smithereens with shards of energy
Whirlwinds in feral fragments shrillness
Warn of wild catastrophe.
Blinding firebolts erupt to split serenity
Nightfall dodges crackling outbursts released
Platinum tempests burst electricity
Splintered lights race on volatility increased.
Sonic thunder bumpers, let go pent up booms
Rip wide the transitory abyss
Slams closed jagged air as thunder looms
Solitude in ragged sound dismissed
Smashed bits of broken midnight crumble
Air’s torn edges reverberate in harrowing echoes
Drumfire’s waves of serrated sound rumble
Flashing thunderheads shriek in falsettos.
Night watch sees siroccos spiral spin
As raindrops on the dry earth sizzle
Downpours splash in roaring torrents din
Gales at rest – storm remnants sing thin whistles.

Enticing beat,
ancient accolades, achieving ancestry
backbeat barrage, buoyant beats
crescendo chorus calculations
dulled dirges, double drumming durations
environmental echoed egos
faint, fading fervent falsettos;
Ghost-Note grooves
hi-hat hoop heads hued
intended isolation idio-synchrony
jembe jaunt journeyings
kidi kick knockings
linear lick loggings
metronome mallets magical
nostalgic notations neurological
ostinato off-beat odd-modulationss
paradiddle percussive permutations,
rudimentary rack repetitions, relentless rolls,
soft solitary shakers, steady shredding, single stroking spurs,
tenacious, tribal tectonic tympani trance
udu utterance
vibraslap virgin, vivid vibes vile,
wood-block whirls winging wild
xboba, x-hat, xaern
yearning yugen yarn

There's something so unsettling about nails on a chalkboard.
I cringe whenever I hear the tapping of pencils.
As obnoxious as loud breathing.
As disturbing as a bad Disney movie;
Nothing could be worse than off-key singing and untuned banjos.
Popcorn kernels in my teeth, legos underneath my feet-
Would be more pleasurable than hearing the grinding of country twang.
I'd rather be friends with quitters and cheats than sit with country on repeat.
As miserable as being bed-ridden after having my teeth ripped out,
These southern tunes are grilled cheese from the school cafeteria.
The whining and complaining are endless, but nothing can compare
To the burning of my chapped lips, dehydrated and cracked.
The awkward middle school "ugly" phase is the wardrobe of the band.
The tearing sound of satin and silk are the cringe worthy falsettos.
Depressing and lonely is my ended childhood.
It is sand at the beach that scratches my skin and won't wash off.
Just Let it go, woah. Feel the rush of the blow,
No, I cant do it though I'm At my all time low,
Lord show me some grace,
I've seem to forget,
When I sing dark and low,
then scream in falsettos,
till my voice box shakes and breaks
like a kankle In tall stilettos,
i need to let go,
and fall to below,
till Gods call bellows,
and moves me beyond,
the echoes and i know you know,
You see the beast in me,
released in beats, bequeathed to me,
by abuse, increased the feat, I'll grease my knees,
and beat my feat, No sleep for me,
I must compete, until I be, a gust of dust,
com-bust and crush this earth like pie crust.
A contortionist achieves climax
Her ******** saluting her lips
From within an envelope of pleasure
Causing local beatitude
Though one may query such enthusiasm
Her ******** cooing mollifying concert
Waltzing against the hips of autumn temptation
That she was vibrant
Or that she was barren
Or that in artistry
This plausible microsecond
The happening of dawn quite imminent
And a canary perched upon a fence
Lavish us with falsettos
Each and every organism throughout the universe
Itself just below its conception
And love equalizes the balance
