Stillness
The stillness of the earth, after the rain,
Takes my breath away, once again;
Your memories at rest,
My soul bequeath;
Those forgotten days,
Reminders of the haze;
Scars in the heart,
Barring the art;
The flow of emotions,
Became a halo of notions;
Those heartfelt things,
Were nothing but ruins;
Some escapades,
From my failures;
Beautifully carved,
On the canvas of life;
Presented to you,
My mistake;
Will try not to,
Repent what had been a stake..
Your eyes were the culprits,
They made me their victim;
We suffered together,
For neither could speak;
Afraid to love,
Unable to express..
Withering away,
With the bond intact;
Two blooming flowers,
Caressed by the showers;
United by fate,
Separated by twaite;
You & I waited,
While our souls mated..
You being with me,

Silliness and laughter
remembered after.

fun and frivolous.
Dreamed of deliciousness,
bewitching blissfulness.

Waiting on words;
Upheaval swirls
Meal time posture
Food court harvest;
Same old stuff
Chinatown fringe
Walkabout excursion;
Hot humid weather chokes
Word for word jazz
Relevance juxtaposed;
Poignant verse strains
Book store punctuates
Tucked in a corner;
Niched following
Verse genres ply
Moods and variations;
Starling change surprise
Clap books monochrome
Small print runs;
Modest readership circle
Works on offer
Book bargains tease;
Second-hand relevance
Simple repast
Eat when hungry;
Flexible meal duration
Migraine fatigue hits
Siesta to recharge;
Stop gap measure
Cash and carry
Shopping trip downtown;
Happy getaway
Tired eyes droop
Glare of noon day sun;
Sudden shower wets
Casual visitors
Impromptu discourse;
Catchup chit-chat
So much to say
Hourglass reprieve;
Abruptly cut short
Conversations hurl
Mid-afternoon visit;
Twenty years backlog squeezed
We style a smile
Catch-up with past wit;
Great mileage in minutes
Joy in swift passage
Touching bases now;

Charm wears a mood with profound cheer;
Here by the way I sense a touch;
Ink words on wood parchment right here;
Notes just to say I feel so much;
Align my state with heart and soul.
Etch fond feelings now deep within;
Sense that sure gate with impulse whole;
Cheer wears knowing with thoughts unseen;
Appeal to voice that seems to know;
Pluck music strains that emerge now;
Assign sure choice with passion's glow;
Deign to bear pain that joy allows;
Emerge with cheer that feels profound;
Sense purge of fear as faith now grounds.

mud pies and hopscotch
played in the sand
nurturing guidance
from my Daddy's hand
butterflies and flowers
my dolly and toys
I left them behind
to be one of the boys
tattle-tales and trouble-makers
were sent on their way
imagination and laughter
filled most of our day
sibling bonding
performed with a scream
singing and sharing
and home-made ice cream
no crying nor whiners
no time left to pout
fearless from sun up
till the last stars are out
chores done for change
and candy in a sack
freedom and pinkie wishes
till school started back
