My sombre shadow trails me,
My own friend i’ve personally handsewn,
It comforts me,
Somehow I don’t feel alone.
When the sun diminishes,
The absence of my beloved lingers..
With only the moonlight’s comfort,
I’m starting to feel alone.
Enwrapped with nothing but solemness,
I watch flocks of birds fly by,
The sorrow - I could not bare it,
I am truly alone.

"Album Daylight by Jonathan Patterson" - Quote by Poet
In the precinct of sprawling emptiness,
curved out by the contours of desolation,
the spreading daylight of prime promise
bursts with the brilliance of magnificence,
creating the serrated shadows of silence,
where I'm consumed by illumined calmness.
Within the light and shadow lattice,
the fused sunray strands weave
the tapestry of argentine ecstasy
on the silvery barrenness of seclusion
for me to walk in search of the lost dreams.
Trudging with the forlorn life
across the shades of grey in the wilderness,
I take a lonesome journey with my pallid heart
across the silhouetted grandeur
of the daylight dwindling.
Walking the last mile of the journey
in the remaining hours of the day,
I long for respite for the last time,
step into the waiting memory corridor,
see my dreams return enwrapped
within the lengthening shadow of me.

If age is a constant then daydreams and nightmares
will cease to exist when the best of life is achieved
as maturity stabilizes at a level of immaturity favors
the innocence in confidence-mired ill-retrieved
those hopelessly enwrapped by rhetorical triggers
stemmed by the proposer amongst the ill-believed
'tis liken a heist at gunpoint to corner those regretters
to have brains (methinks) to cusps their mind deceived
and churned their souls to enter their relievers
and entertain the premature notion that they conceived
participants to ascertain the wherewithal of achievers
better or best consciously the line of inquiry perceived
to mull over and enter the zone as one of the leavers
to post with the best, to the winners be my best-wished.

A Candy Storefront window, a passerby pauses briefly at the array of heart-shaped enwrapped in velvet reds, filled with sweet treats like years before. The same tricks deployed as the byway take point passing a park. Then a heaven-sent gift the gentle walker, drifts a spun floater being a dove's solitaire wing. A hand reaches down and gathers it up in mental discourse. In brevity breathes deeply, and exhales soothingly. Contented, the gentle walker heads back to town, where an empty crimson velour box is bought, he makes one more stop before heading back home with a frozen smile. Amidst the expected backdrop scene where two fluted glasses filled with Dom Perignon Champagne atop a white-silk-covered small round table that graces two silver candle holders, pre-lit. The significant other donning a maroon single-piece nightdress is presented a box. He sits as she opens the box and oddly looks. As he explains his day's escapade freed him from the rigamarole being rhetorical, he lastly gifts her with a smaller box. She opens built-up with a hint of suspense that shreds away to tears. She looks up to the penitent soul while holding a solitaire diamond ring.

Eventide drizzle,
dainty ballerina
dances with tinsels
of molten rainbow,
captured by twilight
transient,
descends with rhythm
of cosmic ballet
at the ebony edge
of the onyx night,
the squashed sordid sky
enwrapped embellished,
waits to unfurl
rain-rinsed petals
with aurora of afflatus
to embroider
with lattice of luminance
the halcyon horizon,
splendorous.
Juvenile smile,
sparkling sapphire
of innate innocence
configured intrinsic,
cascades as cheerful stream
in verdant valley
of fleeting youth
for a nostalgic while,
with ageless naïve aura
inundates ignorant
the pristine plateau,
the unsullied face
flash flooded,
waits expectant
at doorstep of destiny
hope would turn the time,
drift away
dense obscurity dust,
reveal the fossilized smile
on petrified portrait
in the crumpled canvas
of senile life,
sanguine.

In the morning she was found deathly still,
her face quite pale but her lips and cheeks rosy pink;
with sorrow they buried the old lady,
in a sunny place with great weeping trees and birds.
Beneath his dark hood a handsome man waits,
as a wild north wind blows and clouds race in the sky;
he comes from a world of crystal waters,
and of woodlands in a thousand green hues mingling.
He had heard her calling through time for love,
so his destiny is to journey and find her;
now, he stands within her room in shadows,
and steps forward to brush her falling tears away;
with a lover's caress that wakens her,
and bends to kiss her waiting lips as dawn birds sing.
She rises from bed her mind in tangles,
as he stands behind her removing his dark cloak;
she has no fear as she loves him deeply,
and he twines his strong fingers into her red hair;
and slowly they fade in the dappled light,
enwrapped in a sweet lover's passionate embrace.

So love, I soul sore love you;
Each and every time, I’m much enthralled with you:
I am doubly blued sadden in view;
My hearts eyes are blinded;
My mind is in chanted;
My arms are enwrapped;
I’ve fallen in the trap;
I’m just relaxed, in the love of you;
My heart, beats love my spirit soars;
High above the angels, I’m full of banter;
My mind is set to view;
My whole being loves you;
My hearts eyes are blinded;
My mind is in chanted;
My arms are enwrapped;
I’ve fallen in the trap;
I’m just relaxed, in the love of you;
So love, I soul sore love you;
Each and every time, I’m much enthralled with you:
I am doubly blued sadden in view;
I am that I am;
I am so in love with you;
I am that I am, oh, so I am, I am
I am so in love with you;

The light I saw so bright, the stage it glared,
I felt I’d melt away in my shadow.
I found me lost enwrapped in shine of show,
as loud clamor of strife in mind so blared.
I sought solace in calm hermit forest,
followed winding contours, I reached nowhere.
I flew scaling the sky as there you were,
a bird of folded wings restive in nest.
The sky dissolved the cloud of dark dismay,
the mind in flood I felt never so strong.
Anchored in your longing, I faced the tide,
inside the storm forlorn I saw me stray.
I wished if you remained, me lured for long
enthralled, in home of bliss before I died.

It’s Christmas Eve and we will travel
a long way on a cold night
thinking of the twinkling lights,
the golden bulbs, the heirloom crèche,
the smell of sweets and spice.
A hardy greeting at the door!
The family, friends in velvet clothes
of red and black and gold with bows.
The hugs, the kiss, the Christmas wreath.
In we’ll go, and sing and glow
and eat our ham and beef.
We’ll join loud fun as one by one
we find our gifts beneath the tree.
We’ll toast and tease before the hearth,
kick off our heels, amused and warm—
embraced, enwrapped in Christmas charm.
Now we arrive, and all is hushed.
The place is cold. We see our breath.
The cow and pig have not been killed.
There’re lambs and goats alive as well.
The place is full of foreign folk,
battered guests and tattered hosts.
The floor is dirt. There is no tree.
No one has offered food or drink.
We’ve traveled far but cannot sit.
We see a light and just one Gift.
Is this one Gift for all to share?
This scene is death to Christmas cheer.
I stood and thought of all I’d missed—
until I knelt before the Gift.

Night lifted the ebony shroud
from the hazy sky draped in cloud,
the ascent of dawn had begun
with the rise of shimmering sun,
golden shower drizzled with flair,
spreading crimson hue in the air,
radiance lighted the meadow
where the pearls of dew I saw glow.
Reflected flicker flushed my face,
my mind was filled with divine grace,
stream of my love started to spurt
as unbound flood within your heart,
cascade of enticing color
enwrapped you with fervent glamour,
like a flower abloom in spring
you gleamed with the tinge of yearning.
Beyond the calm edge of twilight,
moonbeam splash of mesmeric night
sprinkled silver tinsels on me,
my lured muse soared in reverie
on wings of rhythmic breeze to fly
beguiled in your star-studded sky,
with longing sheen flashing anew,
I composed a lyric for you.

Stable hearts surrender to serendipitous sparkle specks of a night sky
Usurped shone countenance of pleasant harmony midst rare moments
Nocturnal moths whimsically flutter wings to stimulate dreamers rising
Fragrance persuades noses of redolent sweet options like a pendulum
Labor of timely instants for a day's warmth to diffuse the lathering oils
Orchids at night relief odors that they are perfect to air, motions lovers
Wished upon stars studded on a darken frame redolence pairs gesture
Evocative aroma inches glistened lake as a moonglade o'er love ashore
Rescues from zephyrs will, be enwrapped in materials or cuddled arms
Satiate heart's content of a Night Orchid's pleasant servitude to amour

As the morning breeze flows softly
rippling on the placid lake,
on the lotus leaf floating lonely
reclines a dainty drop of water,
sparkling in the rays of the rising sun,
rolls as an opalescent pristine pearl,
the leaf embraces with love lest it falls,
but doesn’t cling to its possession.
As the lake water simmers
in the cauldron of the scorching day,
the lotus leaf singed by the heat
crumples to meet the end.
The water drop dries up as destined,
released by the unattached leaf
disappears in the free air to the infinity,
for it’s a belonging never possessed.
On the wilting leaf of my forlorn life,
floating on the torrid tide of time,
my soul turns to a drop of elixir I embrace.
As it glows detached in the divine light,
enwrapped in the patina of peace,
it lies in the fold of sublime tranquility,
waiting to be released unpossessed,
and merge with the absolute in eternity.

In depths of darkness my eyes had been blind
opened through the wondrous gift of spiritual light.
Now, I see clearly, the truth of Biblical Words
the relevance of life, and what it means to me.
I freed myself from distractions and despair
with the force of waves crashing upon the shore.
I feel as though I've harnessed their strength
to swim from shadows that once bound my mind.
I am enwrapped in God's grace.
My heart gently awakened,
Lidded eyes, once blind, unveiled,
Divine light resides in my soul.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever
follows me will by no means walk in darkness,
but will possess the light of life.” *
My faith in Father and Son shines as a lamp upon
my roadway. Step by step, I follow the righteous
path to a happier existence, for the light of truth will
prevent me from stumbling into an abyss of darkness.
Humbly grateful, I walk in spiritual enlightenment,
encouraged with hope granted to me through Their
merciful love for mankind.

Plain Truth: Christmas
HARK, a majestic consequence proves itself,
bribing through a period that steads neath calendrical overcast skies.
Nowadays, the calamity of Christmas,
where the whole of Japan celebrates,
yet one percent of Japanese observe the Christian faith.
THUS, is the way of other faith followers, seemingly,
celebrating Christmas in some sort of way, shape, or form.
Twas, naught the climate that animates the Christmas ambiance,
though numbers may dissent,
otherwise, amidst such a sentiment.
ALAS, a fertile carpet neath a well-lit Christmas tree that is burrowed,
and richly rooted amongst enwrapped gifts.
Fragmented o'er time, delusional reasons immersed in grand splendor,
and naught be the event of long ago.
HEED, our fabled times a-changing,
toward a materialistic realm,
motivates giving and receiving as we trade in our faith at a cost.
TRUTH, faithful quantities have dwindled,
and beliefs momentarily fluctuate,
during the Christmas time of year.
