Premium MemberEnvisioning the Kingdom

Lo, I am about to create new heavens
And a new earth
Isaiah 65:17

Isaiah describes a new creation of universal happiness
Example food and good health for all
His words seem a stark contrast to our usual headlines
Is this wishful thinking?

Not really
Isaiah envisions a future not yet fully realized
A future in-process
Jesus shared Isaiah’s vision

He called it the kingdom of God
Jesus came to make this vision a reality
Not merely by curing physical illnesses
But curing selfishness

Pride
Greed
Hatred
What’s more

Jesus said this kingdom is already in our midst
We get glimpses of it if we look closely
Strangers
Selfless parents

Devoted nurses
Dedicated Educators
Smiling Octogenarians
Caring neighbors

Teenage volunteers
Generous donors
Families welcoming newborns
And much more

(Looking back, I rather miss December now!!)

Envisioning Dawn on Winter's Stream

Rising up midst tall, thin, frosted trees,
December Dawn has cast herself onto
a wintry stream so silent and so still,
and at this wondrous time – so icy blue!

I picture Dawn a goddess as her lips
dip into winter’s stream as if to drink
sweetly from it; my mind sips this scene
of Dawn’s mouth on the water – smiling pink!

Now fully risen, Dawn reveals her gown -
the light of sun shimmering like beads
dripping down to warm the frigid stream.
She beams with satisfaction; day proceeds.

Envisioning the World Through My Imagination

G was born from E and F,
G discover H so they merged as one
To see I: Passing through S and T
Moving and standing strong as GHI
Passing through tunnels
To envisioning fountains:
Water droplets and beautiful streams,
To falling from waterfalls
deep dives:
Water cannons and Splashes,

realized life can change in a matter of seconds,
The order of time fighting against reality
Toy story sadness: how the toys need Andy!
Love never stays but memories are engraved,
Throwing tantrums and crying
Till who knows what comes!
Yachtsman and Yachtswoman
You ain't gonna sail this yacht,
Sailing across the Atlantic
To discover the mysteries,

Followed by shadows the crew I invoked
Arrrrrrrrrr......!
Sailing across the seven seas
with my pirate ship,
Ain't no matey that shall stop Arrrrrrrrrr will.

Envisioning Forever

Envisioning forever makes the struggles seem worthwhile.
It helps you keep on running even through the roughest mile.

Sometimes it seems like giving up is all that we can do...
and then I envision forever and I'm always there...with you.

The worries of our basic needs and struggles of each day
can sometimes cloud my judgement but those clouds I brush away.

It's hard to not lose focus when you're down and want to cry
but envisioning forever gives me reason to still try.

I want to be together, in a cabin in the woods.
I want to have to drive for miles to stock up on our goods.

Envisioning forever there is always me and you.
That's what keeps me going and helps to pull me through.
