Envisioning Dawn On Winter's Stream

(Looking back, I rather miss December now!!) Envisioning Dawn on Winter's Stream Rising up midst tall, thin, frosted trees, December Dawn has cast herself onto a wintry stream so silent and so still, and at this wondrous time – so icy blue! I picture Dawn a goddess as her lips dip into winter’s stream as if to drink sweetly from it; my mind sips this scene of Dawn’s mouth on the water – smiling pink! Now fully risen, Dawn reveals her gown - the light of sun shimmering like beads dripping down to warm the frigid stream. She beams with satisfaction; day proceeds. Really lovely and gentle as the dawn. Like John I love the personification of dawn - especially as she smiles "with satisfaction." Good luck in the contest with this gem. One of my favorites from your pen!

Beautiful personification of the goddess Dawn. I love "the light of sun shimmering like beads". Did you use "beams" in the final line as a sly reference to sunbeams? Another wonderful seasonal write.

yes, my friend. Glad you took note of that. It's about as "clever" as I can get. Sure can't write surreal like some people do.

Hello Andrea … nice picture poem Andrea. Personally I'm not a fan of winter, but we don't have the magical effect of snow, just cold and rain - thank you Andrea - Lindsay
