THE BUHARI BROUHAHA
We were agog
excited, impatient, and in suspense
unknowingly ushering in the "gog of magog"
Oh! The mastery of his pretence!
Enmass, We obliged our franchise
Gulibly buying into their merchandise
here's my neighbours' drift, wise?
twill surfice me to do likewise
Where would the pendulum swing?
Would our "change' win?
We were on tenterhooks,
Fell for the tender looks.
on the edge of our seats,
"See as our Heart dey beat"
keen, anxious, and longing
We ignited the bombing.
The fanfare, the propaganda, the paparazzi
Ushering in the kamikazi
Much ado about "nothing"
The type that be hurting.
Buhari seems like a big deal,
Coming with a huge fill
but twas a bunch of baloney,
The chili pepper effect on peperoni

Across the wide meadow of verdant green,
splashes of pastel pink waved in the breeze.
One of the lovliest wildflowers I've ever seen
appeared to ebb and flow like restless seas.
Delicate, the buttercup, its veins finger-traced.
This wildflower beauty with nectared center
stands patiently waiting with an upturned face,
welcoming pollen seekers with, "Please enter."
Enmass they flourish as a grand gift of Nature.
Growing in profusion, untended, they live and die.
They've inspired artists to paint their portraiture,
and innocently open their petals to the butterfly.

watching fascinated, the tree
overwhelmed by multitude of birds
close together as though rehearsing moves
for an aerial display .....
their fluorescent plumage
shining brilliantly in the near dusk light,
twittering gets louder, with graceful move
they lift enmass into the sky in flight,
the murmuration has nothing to prove
never to forget,
graceful as one, they twist, twirl
looping .... fine display ...
no conductor to lead them
in their chorus of pleasure.

See how Christmas fete on earth
Indians will walk to the mass
Enjoy curries and sweets enmass
Australians hang wreaths girthed
Here Santa gives rest to reindeer
Changes dress for less ”hot” with cheer.
Chinese light streets and stores with mirth
Santa is called “Shen Dan Lao Ren”
In shops only the grottos plain.
Yule logs burned in French hearth
With food left, the logs burn all night
In case Jesus comes in the night.
Russians fast till first star rebirths
Then break fast with Kutia eating
For good luck throw some up ceiling.
Ways and approach differ on earth
Call him Christ, Gud, Gott, dieu, dio, God
Ishwar, Allah, he’s the same lord.
See how Christmas fete on earth
Australians hang wreathes girthed
Chinese light streets and stores with mirth
Yule logs burned in French hearth
Russians fast till first star rebirths
Ways and approach differ on earth

He lay dying_ slowly did his life pass
Watching others as they moved about room
As his heart failed, fluid filled him enmass
More than his body could handle consume
Legs swollen so that look like muscle man
Stomach swollen sounds as ripe watermelon
Lived a good life years beyond most lifespan
Pain in eyes _ don't really need this athlon
God how can in life some have to suffer much
The depth of their suffering you have shown me
Through the death of this pet whose so soft touch
Touched our hearts to depth in death _ made me see
Instant death_ here; then gone_ suffering little
So sad_ long death slow torture overbattle_

A warm Sunday morning in December
on the fringe of the tenants of freedom.
The sky was ablaze with the colors
that God had painted there.
Small birds of prey fly in flocks,
the coral disc ornates their wings.
They enmass to block out the light.
The birds have their quarry within sight.
They bear down on their objective,
destroying everything in their path.
Many die instantly, violently,
more suffer to their deaths
trapped far below.
Slowly, they recede to the locker floor
only to rise later,
awash in the surf.

CLATTERS OF PAIN
Have you heard it?
Sufferings embroiled of clatters
Clatters of misery in penury
I mean deafening clatters of pain
Not again! Again ! Not Again!
Enmass, we can stop this clatter
Turn it into clatters of revenge
Organize our fury for their funeral
We then lit fire of freedom.
