Tonight Chumki drifts to a gentle sleep,
And with her the poems their silence keep.
No murmur of verses, no whisper of rhyme,
The hours move slowly, unmeasured by time.
The stars look down with a softened gaze,
Darkness enfolds in its velvet haze.
No chatter of stanzas, no lyrical sound,
Only the hush of the night all around.
Dreams weave quietly in silver streams,
Guarding the doorway to tender dreams.
The restless lines lie still and deep,
For even the muses have gone to sleep.
Yet in the silence, a promise lies near,
That dawn will awaken the songs we revere.
When Chumki wakes, her smile will rise,
And poems will flutter once more to the skies.

Quote" I choose to kiss you in the wind, for the wind is gentler than my lips."By Rumi
*************
Wrapped in the warmth of your tender sigh
As night enfolds us, I merge with you in the sky
Amidst the silent serenade of whispering moans
Our lips meet in a yielding kiss, devoid of tones.
A gentle kiss upon the brow, silent, unseen
A whisper of flesh, soul, and hopes to glean
No spotlights or large displays of zeal—
Only hope, steady, and unwavering to reveal.
It doesn't blaze with fury or crave limelight
It settles in such silence, soft and polite
A pause in the chaos, a breath in the race
A gentle reminder: you have a safe space.
It rests on your brow such as calm at night
As hands that cradle when the world is contrite
A peace that lingers when tempests depart
No words to remember, just the silence of the heart
Our hearts echo a whisper, as a dove
A delicate caress, a breeze of cosmic love.

Time casts a heavy glow
On the world I left behind,
Transfixed on a new tomorrow,
All the new seeds I’ll sow.
Emerging is a new day,
How the light blinds my eyes.
Focus on the bright cascade
Of this everlasting rise.
Beneath the earth is trembling,
My footsteps unsure and numb.
The silence almost deafening—
I can almost hear Hope hum.
A quick glance back behind me
At the thralldom left behind,
Hope continues to remind me
Of all I’m rising from.
The dawn unfolds before me,
A light I’ve never known.
Each step is one small victory,
In this light I call my own.
A gentle breeze enfolds me,
Countless paths untrod.
With open arms, I gather
The dreams I once thought flawed.

To the one I love
Just because...
And to those who love life
And those who love love!
Through every cranny, every crack
In every nook of every room
It seeks to fill the empty space
And lift the shadowed shade of gloom
So be it hastened by the heart
Or blessed by universal source
Without it, life would simply cease
So never doubt its mighty force
And you, my sweet, on every day
Give freely of your precious gift
And fill this bleak and barren void
To shatter darkness, sure and swift
Yes, it is light of which I scribe
Of which each crack and cranny holds
No matter where and in my heart
I feel the love that it enfolds

You stop, you slow down
You see, you listen
You are awake
You are alert
You are mindful, creative
When SILENCE enfolds
You become Whole
Silence becomes you
And you the Voice

“The sky in changing shades enfolds many mysteries of the universe, the shifting clouds, the sun, moon, stars and other heavenly bodies. Its vastness is like the vastness of human mind, shape shifting every now and then, but capable of changing the amorphous into fascinating shapes.” ~ By Poet
In the noon sky, wade the truant clouds.
With the sweep of wind, how they form,
Into configurations of varied shape and size!
Giants, mountains and bundles of fluffy wool
To be woven into yet a hundred patterns.

She had thought that love was only a game; something one could wear like a badge to garner envy amongst friends. The chill of the night enfolds her troubled emotions where dreams are unwelcome. A Stygian cloak of loneliness weighed heavily on her as she awaited an elusive epiphany. Finally, the watershed moment came, bringing the realisation that the light, the very fire of love, is from within. If only she has the courage to reach out and follow her dreams. Lifting her head, shedding the burden of perfidy, her heart becomes exposed to light. The dawn chorus accompany her lover’s aubade.

Flow of the lustrous milky rays
Aglow as the coat of white glaze
Birds misled and set off their trills
Herds ready to go to foothills
Confused owls go in awful mood
Amused jars wish to forage food
Dark cloud blanket enfolds the moon
Stark and sudden change soothes most soon

When sunshine warms my skin,
It's as if your gaze enfolds me,
Bathing me in radiant love.
Your eyes are the sun to my soul,
Illuminating life's beauty and chasing away darkness.
Every sunbeam whispers secrets of our connection,
Reminding me that You're forever with me,
Shining bright in my heart.

The wounded, intrepid stork
remains defiant,
withstanding the ceaseless
rage.
An unwavering,
relentless bliss adorns it.
It enfolds a blooming dawn
in its fascinating heart.
A lighted candle resides in its
fiery, boundless soul.
Unraveling the tapestry of
divine beauty is like
an undying rejoicing.
The unruffled, phosphorescent
sea is asphyxiated
by deathless fetters.
They systematically decimate the unfailing,
unrequited dove.
Their unquestioned, unsullied
commitment is to hug it.
The prevailing, widespread
dark like a bloodthirsty
hawk will be obliterated by
the joyous sun of chrysanthemum.
The unbridled, unbowed
spring like a sunny dream
is bedecked with unfearing jewelry.
The enduring, unsurpassed
Sunrise will prevail worldwide.
Its golden light never wanes...

I stood at the edge of the universe,
cradling a heart wrapped in twinkling lights,
an ornament for a tree
that never adorned my sitting room.
“What a quirky thing, this love,” I thought,
as you strode in, a meteor in a suit,
sprinkling stardust on my insecurities.
“You’re a masterpiece, even in progress,”
you said, while I toyed with tossing it all out -
how to love someone
who stumbles over his heart
while tying his shoelaces.
But your smile halts the universe,
a speed bump on this cosmic highway,
drawing me back,
sipping the absurdity
of loving you while juggling shadows.
So, I didn’t discard it.
I placed it beneath my pillow,
a tangled reminder that even as doubt enfolds,
this messy web of love is worth unraveling,
that perhaps in loving you, the gap
between who I am and who I’m becoming
might close.

Blessed with Love
Blessed is a man who real love can find
Deep in the heart of a companion soul,
Who speaks the silken language of the mind
And ever dreams of reaching the same goal.
Blessed is a man who real love can find,
Streaming through eyes of his beloved one,
Words of sweetness that have no axe to grind
And percolate his veins one after one.
Blessed is a man who real love can find
By merging his and his mate`s soul as whole,
Whose smiles alike to the morning sunshine
Clear the haze as sun in the sky enfolds.
Blessed is a man who real love can find
Ever in memory of time enshrined.

Each leaf that falls is mourned by all
As trees prepare for the little death
The glory of their life in warm sunshine bright
Becomes a dream when it's time for rest
As a lover, the wind, strips them to bare skin
And they shiver as the air grows cold
Lean branches bend when snows begin
Youth blows away…and suddenly we're old
Sap inside on hold, as blood when eyes close
Then the breath of life, gasping, departs
Each tree enfolds a spark of life like gold
Till snow melts in Spring’s warm heart.

Like Root Beer Diamonds
smokestack lightning on the pomona freeway
plays their twangy sound brimming with desire
tan mexican cheerleader rides in a ’46 chevy
passing neon hamburger stands in walnut city
passing the silver taco trucks parked on main
they clang like bells in a distant temple of god
she say she want pozole beans and coca cola
her brown eyes sparkle like root beer diamonds
her dark skin enfolds me with unimagined force
the stars above my cruising machine wink at us
they know of our holy genuflections in the dark
the ‘46 chevy parks at javier’s mexican canteen
smokestack lightning plays their twangy sound
plays it on 8 track plastic brimming with desire
her sweet salsa voice puts my soul in handcuffs
her straight white teeth and wet lips enslave me
we sit close at a back table in the dim darkness
her brown eyes sparkle like root beer diamonds

In a world where I do not exist, poetry lies.
My progeny disappears - there are no words.
Exists not a pair of green eyes, only the wind sighs
at that particular point when angels are birds.
In a world where I do not exist, air is arms,
fleshless, without compassion, unfelt. Steam
enfolds those I’d have esteemed with my coat of arms.
I’d be nobody at all, not even a forlorn dream.
In a world where I do not exist, I do not serve.
There is only one me with my speciality.
The sick, dying, those crying, get not what they deserve.
This time and place features an abnormality.
In a world where I do not exist, even my ancestors
are forgotten. Who exists to remember their stories?
How is their time filled, those honeymoon trimesters?
My name, my soul, my spot has naught its glories.
Has my husband found another honey or died?
In a world where I do not exist, can my soulmate strut?
Perhaps and rightly so, he believes that poetry lied.
Alone, forgotten, divorced, devoid of he knows not what?
