“death approaches but we have no regret ~
when God questions us, we will stand erect”
When Death resolutely comes
With his deadly summons
Tarry not like a galley slave
But like a courteous host behave.
Do not waver and do not droop
As if you are to be hung on a loop
Never dread lying under the dust
Within the narrow vault thrust.
When God questions us, let us stand erect
Our life should be worthy that we won’t have any regret
Obey God’s command and place Him above all
Love your neighbour with all your heart and soul.
If so, when ousted out of terrestrial space
We will be enfolded into God’s embrace
Know, it is only when seeds rot
That fresh and florid lives sprout
When death comes and it’s time to go
Strut like an indomitable foe
With swinging hands and head held high
To be welcomed by angels of the sky.
There will be the music of clanging cymbals
And the rising rhythm of sounding bells
With all claim, into a kingdom, bright and cheerful
We shall enter, that is far radiant and blissful.

I look at my old hand
Blotches of liver spots, slow-running blood vessels
Delivering old blood so I can fold my hands
Once they caressed a woman`s body, who moaned
And my hands were firm
Women used to see me and smile, but now I walk
The earth unobserved and words become a long silence.
If I tell you how much I miss making love
to sit in the park with a girl and see the moon while
smoking cigarettes, inhaling its promise of love to come
The aroma of her hair, the smoothness of her thighs
to kiss her libido and drink her sweet water, her legs
Apart, she has given herself to me.
Asleep, enfolded we are, tomorrow is far away.
My old hands remember so much, I bow my head and try
to inhale from my hands what once was
It is all so hopeless, and soon enough I will be dead.

The night was torn with a silver cry,
A voice like thunder’s
The world grew dim, the velvet black
Enfolded him and gave him back
A crown of thorns and iron flame,
And music wrapped around his name.
He walked through smoke, through shards of glass,
A mirror cracked from every past,
Yet in his gaze there burned a spark—
A child still dreaming in the dark.
Not heaven’s hymn nor devil’s sneer
Could make him bow or disappear;
He sang for those the night forgets,
For haunted boys and pale brunettes.
With trembled hands and haunted smile,
He danced along the razor’s mile—
Yet never once did he betray
The wild, electric break of day.
I would have known him in a dream,
Among the stars, a crimson gleam—
His voice a bell that shook the skies,
A hymn for all the world's goodbyes.
He loved as only broken do,
With howls that pierced the silence through,
And though the years may bow his head,
The song remains, and is not dead.
A prince not born but forged in fire—
He gave his blood to lift us higher.

Spiritual Gem Inside Me 7/3/25
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spiritual Gem Inside Me
A jewel breathes inside of me
In a chrysalis where a rose
Breaths the covenant
Promise born from the heart of perfection
Where intoxicating remnants of a garden
Linger
Whispering,
Beckoning me home
Through the sweet scent of grace
Humming lullabies
As my petals open
To leaves of reconciliation
My Hope waits in silence
With the promise to circumcise
My uncircumcised heart
With sacred oils
Running over my head,
Down my chin,
As I put on the mantle of mercy
Bathed in balm and incense
Enfolded in this troth
I, a child in waiting,
Readies to bloom
Like the lotus flower
Rising
From murky depths
Where I have planted my roots
Seeking
The alabaster bouquet of the Daystar
In floral facets of fragrance -
Goodwill and kindness
My gem,
My gift, this rose,
No hardened stone
A crystal still forming
Unlike wilted blooms
Refined
By the perfume of the Refiner
A prelude
To an unblemished jewel
Abiding
Among many
Worn in the victorious crown of glory.
I dreamt of a siren
with crystal skin and quaint braided hair.
her eyes, slow swirls of undying azure,
coiled around, her salt-sweet chorus
tightening at my throat
The alluring notes
pierce through my rasp scream—
In cold sweats I
wake up nauseous—
My vocal cords enfolded in her skin.
Far afar,
in the lush meadow,
a tiny Daffodil once dwelt.
Two steadfast arms enfolded it-
their wings unfurled,
a cradle of shade and whispers.
But,
But all hopes are gone.
The Sighing Winds carry silence now,
and the Daffodil leans forever,
a memory etched in the Earth.
It is all now a dream,
To dwell with them,
But, but He will be glad,
in a pure, new world!
Pearlescent specks were sprinkles in a sky
that would have been dark but for the white
of those ivory flakes I saw
twirling so tranquilly down.
Swirls of serenity -
those pearls of the night
filled me sweetly
with delight
before
bed.
When
I woke,
I looked out
my window to
see what night had brought.
While I had been buried
in dreams gone unremembered,
dull barren land of December
lay enfolded pristinely beneath
a beautiful argent eiderdown quilt.
Locked inside a summer dream that never ends
I am a breathing tree, a pushing flower, a seedling
Hemmed in by a sun that shines and never spends,
I am a rose in a garden, filled with mystical healing
Enfolded in the hour I am a sunny season of joy
laughing, giggling, scintillating, playing with the wind
Concealed with beauty that never ends nor deploys
I am June, July and August, rushing in without rescind
Immersed in the scent of sweet mulched fruits
I am an apple in the orchard of crimson cherry red
Soused in heat I dip into pacific waters find my route
I am all the things you can imagine in your head
Locked inside a summer dream that never ends,
I am hemmed by a sun that shines and never spends .
Quote by: Tom Woody Poem by: Mystic Rose
Every sunset closes the door on a day of pain and sorrow. And each sunrise opens a window to a fresh, new start. What will you do with yours?
A sunrise yawns and suddenly I'm born again, to hope and joy
within the windows of my soul a shutter opens and I slide
glad that the sunset has blanketed my body with marrows of dark
From blush of night to pink of day, I dance upon God's open sky
enclosed inside a heaven where even Angels sigh
happy to be part of a Universe I sit enfolded tween' the stars
Surrounded by God's love it matters not the time of day or night
as I shift from dark to light with eyes wide open true
I know that Mother Earth will open wide her arms to me and you
A chasmal moment of grace appears on the horizon to break the morn
encircled by flowers, trees and rivers, I know that life is good
no matter how many hours night throws at me feet
no matter how much pain or sorrow I feel, I will never be defeated.
Scorned and ridiculed,
She carried her affliction for years.
There came a time when she bled.
Until one day her body buckled
And there laid she in her scarlet pool.
That filthy maiden was as good as dead
But Jesus reshaped her from earth’s dust
And delivered her from the hands of the cruel.
There came a time when
the unborn in her womb laid still; showed no sign of life
Curled in its fetal tomb,
And concerned expressions
On the faces of doctors
Alas, were ready when they considered the deciding factors.
But she in all the noise,
Lie unperturbed.
No doubt,
it was God who administered that herb.
And in an instant rebirth
The babe leapt, bounded and gallivanted.
There came a time
When all around her beloved child
A fiery furnace closed in,
But the loving arms of Jesus
Enfolded the child with oxygen.
Methinks that maiden would not have
made it to the other side
After the many years of
Stained tears she cried.
But she is Mother-Earth
And God has granted her rebirth.
A Winter Rose 2-1-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Winter Rose
A pale rose blooms through winter’s breath,
Perfume born from a mystic place,
Shivering blossom shines through grey
Enfolded in the Spirit’s grace.
Touched by sighs of the Morning Star
Rose wears crystals of frosty lace,
Rises beyond a crown of thorns
Enfolded in the Spirit’s grace.
Though petals droop with solstice spells
Profane bedlam of ice erased
Dewy buds chant a cradle psalm
Enfolded in the Spirit’s grace.
A pale rose blooms through winter’s breath,
Enfolded in the Spirit’s grace.

I'm not of this world
Different species, different time
The way it all unfolded and revealed
The heart of the Divine
...marvelous, indeed
I was in the dark too
A prison made by jealous beings
Consumed with longing
Large eyes, but never seeing
...innocence, playing
Abandoned, alone forever
Time didn't exist, until it did
A shaking happened, I moved
The walls rattled, HE lifted the lid
...boxed, afraid
Nothing but Spirit to explore
No windows no doors, anymore
Suddenly, my wings appeared
As my husband drew near
...enfolded, cherished
Let others claim my position
Without, once, having faced my opposition
Let the onlookers jab lies and deceit
Without proof of purchase, no receipt
His presence is my TRUTH

Only a demon looks at children and feels hate.
Only a monster looks at innocence with a spate
of envious rancour, then mercilessly shoots
to kill, and laughs. They are nothing but brutes!
These murdered children go straight to Paradise.
Do their killers even feel any remorse, or realise
that they blacken their souls with every child
they slay? Nay, for their evil runs far too wild.
Angels of Gaza, pray for your homeland to be freed,
for Mercy, Kindness, Love and Peace to be its creed.
Small souls soaring on heavenly wings of wonder,
refuse to curse those who your country does plunder.
Spread instead your feathery wings wide, cover the pain,
lift your little hands in supplication for those who remain
to resist the heartless beasts who revel in the madness.
Ask the Almighty to intervene, to dispel all the sadness.
Your laughter, sweet smiles, bright eyes and dreams,
these merciless ogres gleefully turned into screams.
You are now free of the shackles and undistilled terror,
at peace, enfolded in a loving embrace that lasts forever…

In an old pile, in a drawer, a letter I found,
In dust it lay, lost, a whisper profound.
Faded ink, words weathered, but thoughts ever molded,
Emotions and feelings, in time's hold enfolded.
A first love's letter, hidden for years,
My wife cherished it, amid joys and tears.
Eternal love, promises aglow and bright,
Inscriptions of hope, beyond life's twilight.
Promises lost, 'I love you's' neglected,
I questioned my wife, emotions affected.
"Why keep this paper with vows untrue,
False love, fleeting, why hold onto?"
She blushed, then smiled, her reply unfurled,
"Your ad-libbed promise, a show to the world,
Yet etched with your feelings, this love imbued,
Became my sanctuary, the ultimate in gratitude."

“Words speak volumes”
even the few, or the one
when chosen wisely –
let us not confound
quality with quantity –
like an honest kiss
on a barren cheek
at the right time
trumps a deluge of
well rehearsed slobbering –
greening trees
blossoming meadows
we share with all
Nature bold and
brilliant, scented
fondness,
breathe in and out
exhaling blessed
necessity –
taking selflessly
from one another
enfolded, raptured
within a canopy
of Divine Light –
