Christ the Redeemer, Bless His Holy Name,
Amen, to the place called Big Bear Valley,
where hails our nation's bird, fair Cali,
the American Bald Eagle ... proclaim.
Naught bald or hairy, females are bigger
than their forever mate. Soars ten thousand
feet: eyesight eight times stronger than human
and they are indeed, the largest ... raptor.
Courting, sky dancing show, Cirque du Soleil,
can't beat their score. Biggest nest, atop tall
trees, their babies are called eaglets and crawl
and fledge but not too far. Grandeur display,
winged feathers of prominence. Humankind
edge what remains their last hope, be enshrined.

an enormous wing spanned eagle or hawk
swoops down and carries off struggling bunny
I watch in awe
sad for the terrified bunny
but glad for eagle’s eaglets or hawklets

spring songs
eerie storm warnings
mistrals turn new leaves silver ~
baby eaglets hatch
banshee ballads rise
ice frosted meadows shiver ~
pineapple express
rain hums sad lyrics
in mantras of humid breaths ~
sleepy snowdrops wake
plaintive wind oboes
pensive gusts of sad flute songs ~
raindrops pound downbeats
spring songs come in waves
misty descants of plainchant ~
parched earth drinks deeply

impressive wing span
navigated storm at sea
at one with nature
eagle glides swiftly
towards its high sea stack home
away from chaos
eaglets safe in nest
impervious bird-of-prey
at one with fierce storm

Funny but the true cure, sickness admires.
That embodies joy which environmental service inspires,
To continuing its selfless humanity upkeep...
Which birthed our artistry: pens weep.
Blushing worries silent babies' trials to speak.
Inner mutterings key, fear demands seek-
How hens never wish to travel high.
Aren't they truly born to fly?
Not until been tempted; hunting chicks
For foods to make eaglets eagles
That only resulted to sensational flying conflicts,
Sometimes out of many fearful chickens like seagulls.
Dare to be, may be for real.
Dare to see, not in sin or for deal.
Be thy own cover, for chilling breeze.
Be thy sunny night, heat heals at ease.

What words of advice do you have for me? She asked.
She was eager, excited, enthusiastic, ready to graduate.
Do not listen to anyone or anything that wants to cage you.
Do not hold back; explain your truth, listen to your heart.
Most of all, fly out of the cage, zoom around the room.
Do whatever you need to do to fly faster and further.
Be an eagle, soar straight up, build a fine nest. Feed your eaglets.
Kick people and ideas out of your life if they try to tether you.
I am serious he said. “This includes me. Cut me loose if you have to.”
She smiled, knowing her grandpa could never hold her back.

life's highways etched into her face
crevices and valleys, catching wisdom of the ages
an eagle's eyes missing no nuances or glances,
woman who is intelligent enough to keep silent
watching the eaglets make their own journey
earning their own highways and crevices

an eagle
Flying high
like everyday.
She saw the prey,
She headed towards the sky,
She took a U turn,
She pounced over it,
She held it in the beak,
She flew far away,
.....A life ended....
the eagle was Bold,
She returned to her nest,
It seemed she won!
God saw her ,
She was feeding her eaglets,
It seemed she won!

An eyrie of bald eagles stir,
waking to the fresh morning air.
Preening and primming flight feathers
grooming each with diligent care.
Flies buzz around yesterday's scraps,
fueled by the rays of the sun.
And shifting shadows disappear,
darkness defeated, dawn has won.
While perched high on a rocky crag,
their keen eyes soon survey the land.
And with uncanny precision,
vast hunting grounds are swiftly scanned.
Hungry eaglets flex flightless wings
forming formidable muscles.
And food brought by the parent birds
oft instigates sibling tussles.
Calling out and circling close by,
eagles urge chicks to leave the nest.
And for the first time, fledglings flap
feathered wings, passing nature's test.

I follow my senses to the meadows
Where the eagles keep an eye out for the bunnies
I feel a kindship, knowing I am a predator also.
Their eaglets waiting, for the tasty morsel, I gulp.
For I am Aries the fierce and the powerful.
Hunting my own prey, recognizing their souls
You had best be on your way; for I am ruthless.
I will sweep you up in my pandemic and carry you off
No one will know of our battle.
I have been waiting many moons for this day
My ancestors give guttural grunts of approval
They want me to devour my enemies,
I glide in my mind to my soul place.
At this moment, in this meadow
I am not sure where you stand.
Edible? Maybe. I am a carnivore.
My teeth gnash thinking of the meal I am seeking.
Come let us eat, my pretty.
Not both of us, but one who is smelling the blood
One who is angry for she is not with her eagle brothers.
Come to the meadow, my pretty. Come to the meadow.

If you have never been in touch with a spirit animal
follow me for you have simply not paid attention
I have so many I am a walking wildlife zoo
My ultimate most powerful spirit animal is the deer
neck to neck with the wolf and the eagle
Deer reminds me to be demure, to wait, to listen
Wolf urges me to be primal, to howl as loudly as I can
And as often as I can, to be sensual and serious
To gnash my meat up, tearing it apart with gusto
Eagle encourages me to soar, to fly as high as I can,
To take myself safely to the mountain top, and
feed my eaglets any rabbit I can catch and carry
Wait. Do these spirit animals contradict each other?
Remember, I am a Gemini. Mercurial and changeable.
A chameleon also guides me, helping me to switch colors.
Chasing away playful raccoon another spirit animal
who is riding my spiritual dragon into the enchanted forest
yelling commands, followed closely by turtle who tries to keep up.

squeaks, an eagle,
