Kick People Out of Your Life If You Have To

What words of advice do you have for me? She asked. She was eager, excited, enthusiastic, ready to graduate. Do not listen to anyone or anything that wants to cage you. Do not hold back; explain your truth, listen to your heart. Most of all, fly out of the cage, zoom around the room. Do whatever you need to do to fly faster and further. Be an eagle, soar straight up, build a fine nest. Feed your eaglets. Kick people and ideas out of your life if they try to tether you. I am serious he said. “This includes me. Cut me loose if you have to.” She smiled, knowing her grandpa could never hold her back.

Oh, such good advice. And I know she could never cut him loose, either.
