Dun Days

Dun days? Clouds above in greys?
Sapphire? Purple haze?
Deterrence, dessicate, cays.
Buildings on the raze.

World around in twilight.
Months ahead a-grim.
Heart within me, burn with fight!
Crater, have thy rim...

Ocean, boil. Intestines, roil.
Ignite, O my soil.
Lightning, fry. My music, broil.
Serpents, time to coil.

Torment, grip each human life.
Quest, on edge of knife.
Fate and Fortune, seethe with strife.
Demon-sultan, fife.

Tyrant of tomorrow?
Of him I never heard.
Surcease sorrow, I borrow!
Tower dark, thy third.

Wind, tear down. Abhor, my crown.
Demolish the town!
Carnival chaos, thy clown.
Hope, see self as flown.

Flickering flame, explode. Death, come.
Doom, hover o'er all.
Chord suffering, play for some.
Family, how ye gall.

Terror, strike. O Panic, lurch.
Bake and flay, O life.
Silver were the trees of birch!
Wisdom, thou art rife!

The Dun :Torr Na Craoibhe

A great forest grows dark and green,
Where little birds twitter amid the leaves,
Reynard the red coated one keen eye searching,
For squirrels leaping among branches tall,
Making sure the youngsters don’t fall,
A capercaillie scream rents the air,
Sounding like ban-sidhe in the air.
Trees creak and rattle in ancient tree talk,
Close together they whisper and plot,
Sending astray the unwary and proud,
Those who stravaig far from the path.
Deep in the depths a slow rising hill,
Crowned with a wall of log and thorn,
With a ditch to deter those who do ill,
A gate stands with warriors each side,
Armed with sword, shield and dirks sharp and slim,
Protecting those who dwell within.
Built long before by the ancestors long gone,
Their spirit lingering in every log,
Singing their song of “Torr na Craoibhe”, as it was once named,
In the tongue of ancients forever told.
Their song drifts over the trees,
Heard by creatures large and small,
For those who stop to listen and hear,
The wisdom within to teach and preserve,
The old ways of nature and ancient forest,
Helping all to live in joyous unity,
Listen and hear what they say.

Did I tell you about this young fellow
His manner was warm and mellow.
He went out one night
Had a drink and a fight,
Now their whisking him off to the gallow.

His friends went off to the court house,
Trying to plead for his case.
They said he only had one pint mi lord,
The next minute,he was off of his face.

The judge said that we can't tolerate,
Getting drunk, and fighting in the street.
Sorry mi lord, it wasn't a fight,
I tripped over my two left feet.

I Love You Cheri Dun

cheri i was away sorry
couldnt be here in the soup
arthur says u are gone
isit true i dont believe it
cheri i am glad i told you
how much i loved your poems
your expression your work
your love a few times
yeah you are from the old school
of rules still u were an original
with emotions and passion unlike
our little poets who just write for the
rules and the words and the syllables
and to compete every day without
any fire or love truth or life
cheri i dont believe u are gone
i remember when i told you that
you are my favourite poet here
u humbly saying there are many better
hello cheri i love your humility
i remember cheri you encouraging me
to write more when i was on an exile
cheri death is not the end i know
it is another realm another dimension
like changing clothes like a ripple you never
die cheri i forgot to tell you how much i loved
you i see you smile now my space is running
out cheri i am crying i guess i am not a man
i love you cheri bless me from there

Noah Dun Groad Up

.

               I close mine eyes
                it does not help

               I plug mine ears
                it does not help

            I peek in mine wallet

                       i see
                  his little grin

Premium MemberWhoot Dun It

Written By Gail DeBole

There once was an owl whose loud hoot
Could frighten the fiercest of brutes.
A "whoo-t" of renown
Sent birds circling the town
To find out who did what when to whoo-t!
