Premium Member As Young as the Woman You Feel

For men I have heard it said
now let's get real
You are only as young
as the woman you feel

Chronologically I am almost seventy eight
biologically I am only thirty four
Am aiming to live way past
this so called "old' age of four score

Pretend I am Methuselah who reputedly reached
the age of nine hundred and sixty nine
Disputation, were they solar years or lunar months
a pristine environment no doubt reduced the ageing rate of decline

No matter how long I'm here
it's quality of life I'll always seek
Live in the moment there is no future or no past
quantity we have some choice I'll always strive to reach my peak

Emotions Intertwined

In the subtle winds of disputation,
Nothing more or nothing less,
To be or not to be is a question itself,
One soul crumbling to another.

Is agony a part of our life
We should always remember?

I closed my eyes to see
The coccoid ebullience in the omniscient
Of my dear, dear heart.

What could be or what will be?
In the path I wander to get a glimpse
Of what could be in the everlasting
Colors of this mysterious world.

Premium Member Try To Be Understanding

My beliefs may be alien to you
I’ve heard it said that I’m a crazy ol’ kook,
And I admit it, sometimes I deserve a boo,
But I must tell you, I do not deserve a rebuke.

My beliefs are as valid as yours
Since no one knows all the answers to life,
We know so little, even after cosmic tours
Disputation often arouses too much strife.

So, why castigate those who are different
Is it that we fear those who are not like us?
Think carefully before becoming a dissident
And try not to throw anyone under the bus!

Premium Member Fanning the Flames

Some love provoking the comfortable
Raising the ire of those set in their way
Stirring up tension among the implacable,
Start embers glowing, then walk away.

They wear the smirk of self-satisfaction,
Troublemakers are consistently annoying
Making inane arguments for a reaction,
Argument for argument’s sake enjoying.

Nasty creatures they who poke the fire
Leaving disgruntled feelings in their wake,
Seems they always want to nurture ire
Between their companions discord make.

With every intention to walk unscathed
While hurting feelings of foes and friends
Ever quick to fan the flames at issues raised
Then especially reluctant to make amends.

Premium Member For Oscar On His 4th Birthday

In every artifice there is child’s play,
in each contrary temper there is good,
and in every impulse that is his way
stands the flesh of my flesh where I once stood.
So it is and so it shall always be
that days of future past I recognise -
to see my own little facsimile
rising true in measure and quick in size.
I beseech between us a spoken care
and pray not devotion too long apart,
no foolish disputation, lie or fear -
only the virtue of love at its heart.
It is my most constant expectation
that you be my greatest dedication.

Premium Member Quality of Discourse

So disappointing to have a reputation--
Known for argumentative disputation
When we could be known for a gentler tone,
Raising quality of discourse in our generation.

Disputation

It doesn't matter how long
I have been on this ship,
it doesn't matter how long
I have been on this plane,
nor does it matter the time I spend on this road,
looking for solidarity,
It is just a journey about to be concluded,
not a destination.

All that really matters is
how close I am to the shore,
how near the airstrip depot is,
how close my home at the end of the road is,
what I care about,
is how deep the water is
before I make a big leap into it,
how willing you are to help me reach my goals,
how opportunistic you are,
that our friendship will go on forever,
how forgiving you are
even after this wrongs and prejudices presented to you,
that is all I need to know.

The Bee - Chapter 16, Verses 125, Holy Koran

Call to the way of your Lord
With wisdom and sweet exhortation
And go for the best manner while having disputation
Surely your Lord best knows
Who is going astray
And who is following the right way.
